This movie is so not for the same target audience the book is aimed at....I watched this with my 8 year old cousin and even she was freaked out....I used to read the book all the time as a kid and now I watch this and feel as if the story has grown up with me (but in this case, the movie grew up WAY too fast....especially with this random eating scene XD)

@PokeBattlerJaze rather than it being a kids movie, it was a kids concept meant for adults to reminds us of the unbridled raw emotions we feel as children. Being out of control, regret, delirious happiness, etc. At least, thats what I think it was supposed to be. When I watched it and saw Max immediately feel regret after running away in the heat of the moment, it reminded me of being a kid. I liked it alot.
