Kata IS a dance, designed to benefit training through muscle memory.
It makes perfect sense to see who can perform it the best.
Obviously there's lots more to karate than just that of course, but you can't measure progress without competition.
Do you complain about other performance sports, like gymnastics etc?
Seriously, if you just want to get good at real fighting, just go get in some real fights.
There's no other way.

bunkai is great but synchronized kata is not that good. Some of their basic is not correct.

Who on earth will attack you with oi-tsuki in a real fight?Nobody.All the Kata were designed for real self defence not for Karate vs Karate moves!Man sport karate sucks big time!!!
