  • Wonderful

  • WOW! How very cool to hear a pop song interpreted as an adult standard and Jane really makes it work well. Excellent post!

  • @ Appleholic: Jane Morgan's version is very nice. Thanks for mentioning it to me. I like the personal touch in how she works the lyrics.

  • Jane really knew a songs meaning and she sang with all her heart and soul!

    Love ya Jane

  • Thanks for posting! I thought I'd heard EVERY version of the song, one of my all-time favorite romantic anthems...

  • @gritsnsand You're welcome.

  • Great voice

  • Still prefer Kelly Chen's version.

  • @Surathan Sorry this is good but noone is a match for the toys with this Kelly Chans not in the same league

  • @burnley5960 Kelly Chen did it better than The Toys.

  • @Surathan No way its personal opinion but the Wall of sound tops the lot but they all sound good

  • @Surathan i also like kelly chen's version the most...

sarah vaughan is also quite great.

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful song. I love this song from my high school days.

  • @JOSEINAWAT1 You are welcome.

  • I am almost in tears at this beautiful song, coupled with the most wonderful voice.

  • @nottosureaboutit One of the best voices out there........

  • As a big fan of over-interpretation part of me finds this kind of ludicrous, it's a cute little pop song, not an opportunity for emotional self-revelation but .... the laugh's on me, she makes the song genuinely touching and compelling in a way I didn't think was possible.

  • @mafketays Jane does have a way...glad she affected you this way.

  • I always appreciated the Jane Morgan perfect enunciation of every word of the lyrics in every song she performed. They don't sing like that anymore.

  • Jane brings out the nature in you!

  • Nobody sings this song better than Jane. Her voice is fabulous as is the song. A perfect match. Love it so much. My heart almost bursts when I listen to it. Thanks again Wally.

  • @nuchems You are very welcome.

  • What a fabulous version - I've only ever heard Jane doing 'The day that the rains came down' - and have clearly been deprived for umpteen years! My favourite version of Lovers Concerto remains Sarah Vaughan, but this is running a close second after making me go all 'mushy' - which hasn't happened in a few decades!!!

  • @STONEYBROKESTILL thanks for your words of appreciation for Jane.

  • This is what singing is all about!! THANK YOU for posting this clip!

  • @DavesXXXXXXXX You are welcome.

  • I always loved this song by the Toys but since finding this video I now love Jane Morgans version so much more.

  • Thanks for your comments. Check out my uploaded version by The Lennon Sisters and be charmed at how great they also sound on this tune.

  • Well produced recording & a beautiful, expressive voice.

  • Thanks for commenting; appreciated.

  • Wally, do you have Jane's recording of "Bless 'em All"? Great voice and technique. Like Sinatra, a one off.

  • Sorry, don't have that track.

  • Je ne comprends pas les paroles, mais cette chanson est splendide, merci au post...

  • De rien.

  • I love Jane Morgan...Wally, do you have her beautiful ballad "C'est La Vie, C'est L'Amour"?

  • Sorry, I don't have that particular one at present.

  • It's ok. But if you get that one, you'll see it's a great song--both the melody and lyrics--but terribly underrated...

  • This is the most beautiful version of this song ever recorded. Jane had a magnificent voice, almost as good as Jane Froman. It's too bad she wasn't appreciated more. Thanks so much for sharing this.

  • You are very welcome; thanks for your comments.

  • Danke für das Einstellen!

    Greetings from Berlin

  • You are welcome.

  • what a lovely voice i am now in my sixties and i am ashamed to say i didnt know this ladys work but will listn to more

  • Thanks for commenting; I think we all missed out on some great singers in our younger days - I only "discovered" Lainie Kazan last year (but knew about her for over 40 years). Better late than never, I say. Glad you enjoyed Jane...she is one of the best.

  • what a beautiful version of this song it made me feel very emotional. this is the tune my parents had played at their wedding how romantic and meaningful thank you for posting this tune

  • You're welcome; glad you enjoyed it.

  • I always come back to hear Jane sing this beautiful song. It makes me feel very happy. She is an angel. Thank you Wally.

  • You're welcome.

  • She's a legend. I have most of her albums. SO PRETTY!

  • Thanks for commenting. I agree - she is a legend.

  • The melody will be wonderful. It was composed By J.S Bach.

  • Thank you for your comments.

  • Wow! What a fabulous voice. I have never heard of Jane Morgan. I cant wait to hear more of her music. She is wonderful.

  • I have several more tracks up by her, as have other people. She is truly one of the best singers ever!!! Thanks for commenting.

  • "A Lovers Concerto" is one of the prettiest melodys ever composed. Jane Morgan sings it absolutely beautiful.

  • I'm sure it was played on quite a few "adult" or "easy listening" radio stations.

  • Great version of a great song, thanks for posting

  • You are welcome.

  • This is my favorite rendition of "A lover's concerto". Jane Morgan's voice is perfect on top of this dreamy arrangement. Well done, Wally 1435!

  • Thank. I agree with you - Jane was made to record this song!

  • That guy's ignorance is your gain. You get treasures for much less as the result. Some people are really clueless about the value of some LPs and/or older artists that aren't household names today.

I have an abundance of stores within a 10 mile radius that I frequent regularly (about 15 stores) and many of them also do

budget or special sales. I often try

artists I'm not that familiar with when an LP is only 50cents. I've lost count

the times I've found some major

    treasures this way.

    .

  • What a fantastic sound. I can see I'm going to be searching for this LP at record stores and on eBay. Thank you so much for posting this incredibly uplifting

    song.

  • I used to focus a lot on eBay; then I found by going to Goodwill, Salvation Army & other thrift stores I would find some really great vinyl/LP treasures for usually about 1/2 the price of eBay and in wonderful condition too. Of course, patience is necessary to have to wade through tons of stuff to find them but it's usually worth it.

  • Where I'm VERY lucky is that there is a record store about 10 minutes from my house that specializes in rock and hard rock and all the great stuff by singers like Jane Morgan get dumped into an "annex" with bargain basement prices. You'd think the guy would catch on that there's still a market for this stuff when I come in and buy 70 or 80 albums at a time when he has a half price sale!!

  • Great song...Jane recorded this in French, also...great stereo sound...Wally! Thanks for posting this one!!

  • You're welcome. Thanks for your comment. Yes, the stereo is great on this; it goes to show what others have often stated...that vinyl has a better sound than cd.

  • What a great version. Your channel is a bright star shining out in these troubled times.

  • What a nice compliment! Thank you very much.
