Red as a colour in politics is used as the colour of liberal and left wing politics almost everywhere (except the United States, where it's the opposite). So a Red Flag could represent Socialism, Communism, Anarchism, or just liberal democracy and rebellion. If I had to guess I'd say it's a general song of rebellion (just going on the lyrics). Canada has a lot of socialist policies though like their healthcare system, and Billy Talent is canadian.
