I look at both the liberal argument for health care and the conservative and libertarian arguments and I can see that the libertarians and conservatives have a point. Why shouldn't schools compete for students like they do in Belguim (like a voucher system)? It's NOT people that I don't trust. It's the bureaucrats that I don't trust. I would also include both Democrats and Republicans when it comes to Washington.

Someone who doesn't agree with my point of view is rigid in that they did not accept my way of thinking. Its as if the whole criticism of people having to rigid ideas is really priming people to not have their own opinions on something. How easy it is to get people believe anything at that point when they are told to be open and accept everything.

You can split hairs about this, that, or the other individual policy, but the truth is that -- IDEOLOGICALLY speaking -- before the Fourth Party System (D)s were conservative and (R)s were liberal, and afterwards it was the other way around. I never implied it happened on a dime, but it was decisive nonetheless.

All you have to do is go to the link and look at the map of the outcome. The 1964 election is the bigger story -- and the more abrupt change -- because up til' then, the Deep South states were voting 80-90% Democratic in every election.

The programs of the New Society are a failure these past decades as poverty is greater than ever. Start out by attending school, gain some self esteem, then a job then own a home on your own accord. It works that way much better. Just ask anyone successful. Lifetime welfare, section eight housing and money for unlimited illegitimate kids is not the answer and never was.

First of all, I am not a communist. I would never subscribe to an economic philosophy that Ronald Reagan followed and subsequently sold to this country under the guise of Trickle-Down Economics.
Secondly, Capitalism has killed more than Communism. The capitalist economies that allow cigarettes to be sold has allowed more deaths in the past 20 years than Stalin killed in his camps. Furthermore, Mao Zedong ended up killing a third of his populace thanks to bad applications of Capitalist policies

Mao wasn't planning to kill anyone. The people who died under his regime starved to death after his economic plan for selling steel in the global "capitalist" market failed and he couldn't buy enough food to feed the people - all the farmers had been turned into steel workers.
