  • I just do NOT understand why Donald Pleasance had such a high billing in the credits for this film. His role was little more than a cameo actually.

  • love this movie!

  • My Father O G :P<3

  • Is there ANYWHERE I can watch this entire movie for free?!?!?

  • @losaface4 no offense but it always amazes me how people expect to watch every movie for free online, I bought this movie for 3.75 used from Amazon, why can't you do the same

  • John Denver was so young in this movie i only saw this twice

george burns reminds me of my grandfather who i was really close with

  • The underlying message of this comedy was so great! Just think about it. God could come forth, but that would make us all not have any faith in a future life. HE knows what HE's doing. Just go with the flow.

  • HA HA HA HA Paul Sorvino thinand young. And using a southen accent straight out of Gone With the Wind. Now when I watch Goodfellas I will lol thinking of him in this. RIP JOHN.

  • I never figured out why Donald Pleasance had such a prominent billing in the credits for this film. His role was actually very minor.

  • I always thought that Joan Osborn was the first to sing this.

  • @kevin2you00 yes she was, this is a cover, I could not use her version because of copyright

  • And a good man John Denver was!

  • idk y but this movie looks awesome...

and this is the first time i ever heard of it LOL

  • I love John Denver :)

  • I remember this movie - A very good one. Thnx.

  • In spite of the presence of George Burns, Barnard Hughes, John Denver, Teri Garr, Paul Sorvino and Ralph Bellamy, if you ask me, the biggest star of this film was unquestionably that tangerine colored AMC pacer wagon. Nothing screams 1970s like fake wood side paneling (except possibly vinyl roofs).

  • @IDLERACER So true, the Pacer was the epitome of bad 70's styling, the fake wood paneling was the least of its problems.

  • ahh the great old Gorge Burns, i think hes the only 1 entitled to be called GOD thumbs up if u agree :D, i always liked Gorge Burns, great actor, a great caring and funny man, god rest his soul

  • Very funny movie, I really liked it at least.

  • Love this film. Thank you!!

  • anything burns in its just fucking funny, hes a real god lol

  • The person who is managing the cult that is thinks that you should seek succor by this movie all over the world.

  • John Denver was a very good man that loved animals & the environment of the earth, ocean. stars, & planets.

May God bless Johns work always.

    ~Ava

  • This is a great movie, I watched it as a kid and liked it a lot, had a nice message without being preachy. Love how Ralph Bellamy and Paul Sorvino look so young here, amazing.

  • So help me me. I really like your sensibilities in cutting film and choosing music, Zabriskiepointer. I shared this. Thnx.

  • thank you so much for that!

  • This looks like a great movie. Perfect song choice too :-)

  • p.s. If there is anyway to post some other parts of the movie. Like God's full testimony in court that would be awesome would like my mom to be able to post. Thanks! Also, scene where it rains in John Dever's car, but only on him....hilarious!

  • I uploaded the film in parts a few days back feel free to check it out. 5/5 like it

  • Bravo! Good mix with video and song. I'm impressed, Keep up the good work. Also, to other comments, true, this was one funny movie, and the messages not preachy but true. Thanks for sharing!

  • ....there are so many underrated 70s comedies...and this is one of them.

  • I concur!..thanks!

  • can u post more of this show jd is my idol and this is one of my favorite show that he did thanks for this great post keep up the great posts!!

  • Jesus (ooops!), that was sweet! You made it more somber and serious, more contemplative perhaps that the films actually is, yet you brought out, through the use of the song, some nice questions all it's own.

  • Yeah maybe I made it a little too somber, not sure..thanks for the great comment Rick!

  • Man, I forget sometimes how much I miss this ol' man...*sigh*

And this is lovely, as usual...I love it! I understand perfectly your choice.

And how come YouTube don't put more stars for people like YOU?

  • lol..as always, love ya, Tammi!

  • Wow. Is the old man really God?

  • LOL..yes in the movie, George Burns (the old man) is really God!....in real life make your own conclusion!

  • He is not God as I imagine. Who is the guy with the glasses? I never saw him on a movie.

  • well they both have glasses..the younger guy is Singer John Denver

  • Yes, I mean the sexy guy. I never saw a movie with him. Doesn't he make much movies? I also don't know a song. Wait, is he a country singer?

  • well he died in 1997 in a plane crash, and is best known for the songs "Take me Home Country Roads" and "Thank God I'm A Country Boy"..this was his only big screen role, but he did do some TV Movies and Direct to Video Flicks!

  • Sorry to hear about that. Poor guy. R.I.P.

  • His name is John Denver and was a great singer and still sounds on the radio. Haven´t you ever heard about him?

    In 70´s was very famous.

  • Now I've heard a lot and even bought something. I was born after this time but I loved all his songs. There is one, in particular, that I loved even more. Perhaps love, that he sings with some Opera singer.

  • @christopher242424 I always get a bit sad when the younger kids don't know who John Denver is.He is to many of us Gen Xers a big part of our childhood. He fell off the radio by 1980,but in the 70s he was as big as Michael Jackson was in the 80s..No,I am not exaggerating. In 1975,he sold the most records in the world-100 million by 1980.He had TV specials, was on Newsweek & Rolling Stone. There's a cute clip of him on YT winning 3 American Music Awards in 1976.He won an Emmy the same yr too.

  • @BrisVegess I didn't mean to offend. I thought that I hadn't heard him. Then I remembered the song Perhaps Love that he sang in duet with sme opera singer , then Leaving in a Jet Plane and now I have one spectacular program: Christmas with John Denver and the Muppets. I tried to upload it in youtube (in parts, but I had to give up at onc because it is not allowed. By the way, he was much better than any other. I didn't even like Michael Jackson.

  • What a great video. What a cast. George Burns was superb as God. Just one idea; Why don't you change your channel's name to TeriGarr's Channel?

She is fabulous. Another thing: I know someone whose hair looks like John Denver's (that is a compliment).

  • I only have 2 things with Teri Garr in it on this channel..smart ass..lol

  • My idea is exactly this. A channel just for her. I simply love Teri Garr.

  • Dating myself here..... I remember this film as though it were yesterday ! It was a HUGE hit in '77.

Teri Garr !!! What a fabulous actress ! Paul Sorvino ! Ralph Bellamy ! What a cast !!!

Great tribute here.... nice bookends of dialogue around the perfect song.......

    ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

  • wow, thanks a lot..teah I love Teri too!

  • Great job! That's such a pretty cover song. Who sings it?

  • actually it is my neighbor..Michelle Sanders..she did it with her band called "Lost Dog"..lol

  • Now I remember seeing this in the theaters and thinking it was the funniest movie i'd ever seen. Thanks so much for your excellent work bringing back these memories, as only you can. Great job, Craig!

    Love,

    Buster

    5stars and added
