I have dived this site and it is un-real. Not many people get a chance to see something like this. Even though the video is excellent, the place is something that only people that dive it understand and it does not give it justice.
hmmm...yeah that song is horrible though i mean the ambient underwater sounds are better good video though. i live in florida and we have caves and sinkholes all over its awesome diving is a must in florida lots of very cool "untouched" places...good video.i rate it 3 stars
Thanks for your reply. Yeah - I guess "One last breath" ain't the best song for a dive video. I got it off youtube's option to place audio over the music. If you can find a better song, I'll be happy to change it. :-)
I've heard about the florida caves. Sound beautiful. Enjoy your diving!
I checked the website you spoke about. Cavern, sink hole, Cave and Penetration. What organization are they from? I've never heard of sink hole rating...I'm a PADI MSDT and rebreather instructor.
The organisation is the CDAA (or Cave Divers Association of Australia). It was formed in the 70's after a spate of diving deaths in caves prior to when there was no formal training. More information about Australian Cave Diving is available from that website (under the link "Cave Diving") or from cavedivers<dot>com<dot>au
Wow, can't believe your camera takes such high quality video. I use a Sea&Sea 750G and the video doesn't compare even with good vis. What's your diving qualification?
Yeah - I was very surprised, and happy when I started filming. (We only bought the camera for snapshots, and to get this sort of quality out of it was quite a nice surprise).
Awesome footage - hats off for 1. the video and 2. having the "plums" to do that in the first place - hope to see more!

hey great vid
is there any fish or plants in the hole??
antzman99 2 years ago
Thanks for your comment!
There used to be some fish (introduced) a few years ago, but haven't seen any recently.
There is some plant life / growth over on the wall near the surface where the sunlight hits, but that's about it.
Cheers

Hi Kinggeorge02,
Thanks for the encouraging comment! (Didn't expect to get an 'excellent' rating from my Panasonic FX-01 :-) )
However, I agree - nothing but diving this site yourself could ever do it justice!
Cheers

can you get access to this site if your GUE cave qualified or is it only for CDAA members?
danoGnR66 4 years ago
You can get a visitors permit.Contact the CDAA and they will want to see your qualifications and logbook.

I'm currently qualified to cav/sink.
wavesncaves 4 years ago
That must be the best viz I've ever seen. How deep is the sinkhole? What kind of camera are you using?
jaak44 4 years ago
Hi Jaak44,
This site exceeds 60m and agree, the vis is fantastic. (I think the shaft is better, except that being so dark, it's hard to tell <g>).
I'm using the compact Panasonic Lumix FX01, and have been quite pleased considering it's only a compact digital camera.
More information on Kilsby's and the Shaft (and other sites we dive) can be found at wavesncaves<dot>com (click on the SITES link).
Cheers
Adam.
