the Government's propaganda worked well on the psyche of the population about marriage & their 'Marriage Licence' in order to claim more 'property' for the State, and again to earn more from the adoption process & the babies considered as a saleable 'product'...

We humans have a long, long way to go before women and children are treated with equality and respect all over the world.
Very strong subject... great lyrics... love the folk music... mandolin is beautiful... there was a program here about what the Spanish do illegitimate children during Franco. They were sold to wealthy familes and the catholic church had a lot to do with it!

I too am a mother of forced adoption at the Mater hospital Brisbane 1967. This abomination, the adoption industry was and still is, an atrocious embarrassment on our nations' history. For a federal government to not only condone this hideous and barbaric practice, but overtly encouraged it. Through the decades, the devestation inflicted on the lives of thousands of us , and our babies that were wrenched from us, are screaming for justice . Thank you for your song, it reaches us all.

As a mother of Forced Adoption in the single mothers holocaust of Crown St Women's Hospital, it is my hope that all Aussies hear this message, & other Mums and adoptees who were victims join us on Facebook at "Crown St Women's Hospital Refugees" How do you know you are one of us mothers ask yourself this "Was it YOUR choice to relinquish your child?" if anyone attached to the hospital coerced you in any way, or if you were drugged, then you are a mother of forced adoption.
