  • Wow. Really sucky lip-syncing on Julian's part. Get's worse and worse as the video goes on.

  • @gomonkeygo the whole audio is out of sync with the video image

  • this albums a classic....the poppys are still in the fields despite our efforts in afghanistan...viva la rock n roll

  • true x2 but this song was as good as any tff song

  • John Peel famously hated them. I think you will find Te*rs for Fears fit in the same category as Mad*nna: steals a little style from all genres an mixes it [in a purelyt professional fashion you understand] into a mess of safe shit.

  • "Tears for Fears (for instance)were way better in this genre... "

are you really serious or just winding up? "This genre"?Hahahaha

I didnt know the Teardrop Explodes made music for cock sucking poseurs unsure of which musical direction they are headed in but just seeing which way the wind blows. Tears for F*ars made more money for sure, but every single thing about them from the vocal intonation of the singer to the fake dreadlocks of his sidekick made made you want to vomit uncontrollably.

  • Well, jangenk...are you trying to be treacherous?

  • pffft, ¿same genre? you have to know absoultely nothing about the liverpool scene to make that remark!

  • like the smiths but better :)

  • Is Julian Cope from Swansea?

  • Definitely NOT a jack!! The man has talent for fcks sake! :O)

  • Julian Cope - Genius!

  • Brilliant. No one makes this kind of music anymore. :(

  • white lies

  • AWESOME song, brilliant.

  • I remember this when i first hear it brillant voice :)

  • its great to look at the differences between where Bill Drummond and Jules have ended up.

I love them both, in there own weirdy ways.

Bill for turning me on to RAW and the Illuminatus stuff, oh yeah cant forget MuMu.

And Jules for all his beautiful music and lyrics.

  • Could anyone, ANYONE, please upload the appeareance of the Teardrop's on Granada TV?

The Camera, Camera one in 1979...please, please, please, I beg of you...that performance is legendary and I think everyone who is a fan of Cope's band would appreciate immensely! Please?

  • no !!!!!!!!!!

  • Utterly brilliant song.

  • yes...thank you doocati1098r this is a really lovely song, i like it thank you very much for sending, what a great era for music.

  • One of my favourite tracks ever, many thanks for posting :-)

  • has anyone heard the version of this where he sings it in french........it sounds much better..the words are a bit lame in english

  • cindy's haha no thanks, i used to live in the javelin snooker club :P

  • Adore this tune!!!.However, NO ONE EVER POSTS "C O L O U R S F L Y A W A Y"

  • You're really pissed off over it aren't you? LOL! I know what you mean though. I'm glad to see this on here, but I'd like to see more live performance videos. If I had that track, I'd upload it, but I don't. Sorry.

  • Yes i am,what amazes me is that "Colours" was a standard single release, not some kind of limited edition,so there must have been a promo video for it and yet it is like looking for the classic "needle in a haystack".Thanks for your offer anyway.

  • he looks like cross between bucks fizz and geoffrey from rainbow, but what a great album and band. just bought kilimanjaro for the third time. have to stop upsetting my girlfriends, eh? it would be cheaper.

  • anyone want them to reform for a one off gig in liverpool,im gary dwyers sister??

  • Without a doubt !!, He should of reformed with TDE and gone back home for the summer pops or for the 08 Festivel.

  • I'd love it big time!!

  • Which TOTP was it where thet were all tripping?

  • His hair looks like an ostrich nest.

  • this songs from killimanjaro as most watchin will know. i wanted to look like mr cope so mutch wearing a flying jacket and . jean johdpurs. instead o leather ones.jules and the t.e .hit the charts too early it was when punk was slowing down and the new romantics were moveing in. i remember sb this is planet earth . anyway ime a copey fan met him a few times and hes great . OH YEAH HES A DRUID NOW x

  • Love the intro. Julian Cope knew how to write music. Fuckin' fresh now as ever before.

  • Jules looks a bit self conscious. Troy Tate looks cool and the rest very 80's.

Lovely song, do the lyrics mean anything ?

  • St. Julian, in less addled times.

This was always one of the better Scouse bands, along with Dalek I Love You.

So, when will we be seeing them on YouTube I wonder?

  • Hard to believe its 26 years old.

  • tart 6th form band

  • untill you realise its just a story

  • 2 friends and i were on holiday in Paris (1982), we had Wilder and Kilimanjaro on tape, with the french treason version as extra at the end. We played it a lot. We sang it wandering in the streets late at night after a bottle of cheap wine, and we loved it

  • See video response just posted...

  • Great song !

  • kilimanjaro

  • I forgot the name of the album this song is on, but I used to play it over and over. I love this song -- thanks for posting this!!

  • such a deadly song, its a pity they only say treason once though

  • actually, if you listen closely, he says it twice

  • the bass player looks like he wants to be in duran duran, i saw this lineup in 1981 at the palladium in nyc supporting U2, i seems to remember the place was half empty, i think the clash was in town that night.

  • Ah yes, the early 80's when you had to pick between U2/Teardrop or The Clash on the same night...

  • 1981-05-29

  • Brilliant!!!

  • I adore this song. The lyrics, the voice, the musical arrangement is totally genius! Fantastic song, fantastic hook and 100% fabulous...

  • thanks for uploading!

  • love to see the teardrops, even in playback. i'd prefer to have julian playing bass, but this is a good chance to visually enjoy that great melody
