  • nothing wrong with a 15 year old watching this...

  • Anyone notice that one of the light bulbs illuminating the 11 is burned out? Heh heh.

  • Poor Count and his obviously undiagnosed OCD :(

  • Dang this is old i use to listen this around age of 7 or 8

  • AND I'M 13

  • Sounds like a rave for clowns. :D

  • The pink dude in the front is licking his fingers to rearrange his hair :) at 0:36 and 0:48

By the way, I'm french and I looooove sesame streeeeet!

  • @ParisButterfly98 Moi je suis belge, d'origine antillaise et africaine. J'adore Sesame Street aussi. J'habite aux USA pour le moment.

  • The pink dude in the front is licking his fingers to rearrange his face :)

  • MEMORIES

  • This was one of my favorite Sesame Street program

  • AB FAB

  • lol honk honk honk there cersing

  • This skit was later shown on 123 count with me, but the intro was cut & I wonder why?

  • "You are #453. I will get back to you later." For some reason that completely cracked me up.

  • Song:Honk Around the clock

    Artist:Play through the nose

    Album: OOGAH! records.

    XD Lmao!

  • this isn't a parody of rock around the clock by bill hailey and the comets but rather a parody of ernie maresca's shout shout from 1962. It's awesome, though. My daughter loves this! I love old school sesame street so much more!

  • watch?v=I9hj-cP4nHo

  • The lyrics are so simple and yet so entertaining.

  • i was think it was horsey porn!

  • 450 bricks. 451 bricks. 452 bricks. 453 bricks. Your 453 I'll get back to you later.

  • That clock is causing Global Warming and probably killed several polar bears due to the insane usage of electricity. :p *insert lots of sarcasticness here*

  • Eight people broke their noses trying to imitate the honkers!

  • @jpayne4040 *Honks nose and goes to the Richard Scary's hospital since Sesame Street I don't think has one so I have to go to the one in that show/book instead.

  • never understood why the broke the clock at the end ?

  • @cartoonist1975 IDK why, seems the creators loved to have things break or crash a lot on the show back in the 1970s to the 1990s!

  • Comment removed

  • I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this, but this song is so Horn E, LOL

  • Where's Little Chrissy When You Need Him?

  • @cstoczyn It is Little Chrissy singing off-camera

  • @muppetlover16 O I C, Or How Bout How Now Brown, Mick Swagger, Or Rebel L?

  • @cstoczyn Or maybe it's Chrissy from Little Jerry and the Monotones

  • @muppetlover16 That's It!

  • Poor Honkers

  • SESAME STREET NVR GETS OLD....song is tha best haha

  • I am 22, and i just had the urge to see if this was on Youtube, I have'nt seen this since I was small.

  • OMG I loved this as a kid. I just Heard a Reggae song that reminded me of it! Its shares the same bass Line. The Ethopians - "Sad News"

  • How many kids do you think broke their noses trying to honk their own nose?

  • HONK AROUND THE CLOCK HONK HONK HONK HONK HONK

  • OK, what exactly happened at the end? I remember this clip from my childhood and I distinctly remember some kind of carnage but they cut it off before that happened!

  • Pretty sure the baby honker is Frank Oz...He usually does that finger lick to straighten a characters facial fur.

  • @LamangoKaijura Hes but that would be silly if it happend in Planet 51.

  • OMG--I remember when I was a little girl and I would get *so* excited whenever this song came on! Memories...LoL

  • En we gaan het klokje rond! :D

  • "You are 453, I will get back to you later!" XDD

  • chris cerf you rock!

  • this stayed in my head all day after the 1st time I heard this.

  • they goona bang around the clock

  • seriously...the honkers were always my favorite muppets

  • man i still got the original videos for these guys!

  • Tommy Joe Ratliff TWEETED THIS!!!!! LOL!!!!

  • I loved this song when I watched this show. I kept rewinding the tape listening to it over and over

  • & at 0:35 - 0:51 the pink guy looks like he's blessing himself. rotfl.

  • 0:57 pillar on the far right almost collapses. lol. Can you even imagine the chaos of all those puppeteers at the same time? It'd probably be really funny to see hem as they were filming this. I can't believe it got 5 thumbs down. 0_o must've been the five Honkers who had to pay for the clock damage...

  • @foxxyloxx You can see more chaos... Orange Honker falls. Three times.

  • u go honkers

  • honk honk

  • Honk around the clock. All night long. Brings back memories.

Gawd how I loved Sesame Street. Number 1 Comedy show the world over.

  • I love you.

  • If the idea was to go back to the '50s, wouldn't the disco ball take away from that?

    Course, 3-4 year-olds won't care.

Too bad you won't see this on Sesame Street anymore. Now you've got "Number of the Day" and "Journey to Ernie" and "Elmo's World". And we have "No Child Left Behind" to thank for that. :P

  • @6891man The mirror ball has been around since the twentys

  • ohkay, im a puppeteer and this must have taken like, 300007 tries to get this just right! I meannn, coroegraphy and stuff must have taken forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i cant even get 3 lines correct!!!!)

  • About the description, there's a difference between a ripoff and a parody.

  • @Saintnick90 You're absolutely right! I wasn't thinking when I used that term and meant no malice at all. I will change it.

  • @mstatz

i respect u v much. a lot of people on youtube cannot take constructive criticisms or suggestions. they r v petty and use vulgarities. u r different and i like that. cheers!!!

  • @mstatz What do you mean there is a difference between a rip off and a paraody?

  • @mstatz Apologizing over that which does not even makes sense apologizing for!

  • @Saintnick90 And even further, a difference between a ripoff, a parody, and something done in a style. The song bears no resemblance to anything other than a song that uses music stylings common for the era the song was modeled after, not specific to any one existing song, IMO of course.

  • it's been 20 yrs since I last saw this and I am still honking my nose "around the clock" lmao

  • I see a light bulb out on the 11. Second one from the bottom of the second 1 in the 11.

  • @tpirman1982 I just now noticed that too!

  • @tpirman1982 Yeah, yeah, I see it too!

  • i miss the 80s

  • i remember this

  • I love this one. I even have the mp3 on my player.

  • @jtomally9681

    Same thing here

this is on my Ipod on a playlist called "The Muppets Take My Ipod"

  • @ChannelUmptyThree lol. I just made the album title name Sesame Street.

  • @jtomally9681 Well my playlist has some stuff from Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock as well so Its basically all the Muppets in their Muppetastic glory

  • i always smile watching this since it makes me remember watching this whenever i did

this was one of my favorites and i have always loved the honkers

  • I know that when this video was re-released to DVD certain music videos were cut. For example, Wet Paint had the opening and ending cut and the opening and ending to ZZ blues was cut, why was that? Could someone tell me please?

  • Both actually seem to have the same deal.

Alot of SS home videos seem to do that. It's pretty common, and dissapointing at the same time.

  • Do they still have the honkers on Sesame Street? It sure has changed since when I used to watch it.

  • Who plays honkers Muppets?

  • i loved the honkers when i was a kid.

  • @Rylosalex I still do!

  • I always thought this was more 70s, note the disco ball and the disco like sound ^^ Modern sesame street sucks!

  • "Count Countdown Extra"? Cool to see a "Your Hit Parade" referrence on Sesame Street.

  • this isn't even a rip-off, its more like a PARODY.

  • Oh my lord, this is brilliant.

  • i cant believe i found this!!!!! i loved sesame street when i was 2,3,4,5 and until i was like 7 years old!!!!! I was just singing the theme song!!!!

  • When I was like 3 or 4 I remember this being my favorite Sesame Street song. I think it may have single-handedly given me an affection for the classic 50s rock sound. I remember dancing in the living room to this. Nice memories :)

  • That clock is coming out of the Honkers' paycheck.

  • Paycheck? People for the Ethical Treatment of Honkers told me they used slave labor at Sesame Street. :P

  • Actually they have a union.....Honkers Local 123

  • Those damn Honker's Rights groups lied to me again!

  • sesame street used to jam back in the dayz. now its not fun to watch no more.

  • @noreaga12326 I hate political correctness

  • what does political correctness have to do with what i said?? its the honest truth. sesame street now a days is boring and lame... the whole last half hr of the show is about ELMO'S WORLD. fuck outa here. it doesnt have the flavor like it used to any more.

  • Just google "video to mp3"

  • had a dream about this song....havent see it in almost 25 years!

  • i love every song chris cerf sang

  • i love this when i was a kid and i still like like it ! =D

  • hal iri ous

  • damn.... i'm 25 ..... makes me feel like a kid again ...remembering the times when i used 2 get home from school in time 2 watch sesame street

  • @oltots So true. I'm 29.

  • Last time I heard that many horns going off was new years!

  • I can't help but DANCE every time I find this one and play it!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!

  • i prefer Dingers to Honkers. dingers are cuter

  • "obvious rip-off"?

    Parody seems more right?

  • True... or maybe even a tribute. Still rated this top, glad to find it..

  • Haven't seen this one in years, this was one of my favorite pieces.

  • Gotta love the baby honker's reaction after the clock broke. He was like, "um...bye."

  • Where can I find the original song that starts sesame street? Sunny days, everything's A-ok?? How to get to sesame street. Anyone know????

  • lol i'm gettin old. i was watching the at 6, now i'm 26 watching this again, man how time flies.

  • It's it strange how it is honk around around clock? It sounds a little bit like self censorship. XD

  • if i see children going around whacking themselves in the nose, i'l know why...

  • We're gonna WHAT 'around the clock'? Wow, pretty racy for a childrens song. Also, the word 'Honker' is a bit suggestive.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG XD

  • We're gonna chipsy chopsy around the clock all night long.

  • Great Honkin' Video!!

  • this is so awesome! =D

  • love the classic footage, but hate the contemporary bookends

  • Isn't that Little Chrissy singing the vocals?

  • sure is. Christopher Cerf was the biggest rocker of all the muppeteers.

  • You have to love The Honkers.

  • The clock that they just crashed cost $5000, which it is a big waste, lol, next time hire the movers to move the clock

  • I think that this clock is actually a juke as well as a disco light clock, man I'm glad that I've found this man I can now watch tis over and over again.

  • I think that Count should work at Fort Knoxx and count all the brisk of golds

  • he'd be there forever then lol

  • This epidsode was the best one

  • lol, I was afraid of this skit as a kid. I was afraid because the clock started moving and I used to think that a giant clock would come through the wall at anytime XD

    now it's just cute.

  • Lol! That is too funny! I too always thought there was something sinister about the way the clock crashed!

  • I know it's like... "The clock ran over the honkers and now it's coming after us!"... or something.

  • Gotta love the baby one.

  • i luv the russian version of this but the russian 1 isnt on youtube :(

  • the honkers rock

  • This was my all-time favorite Sesame Street song!! I never did forget this song!

  • THIS IS FUNNY!!!!

  • sesame street hasn't come up with too many new things because they keep going back to the old stuff, which is timeless anyway...

  • wow back 20 yrs in time,106-110 the little purple one is the funniest one

  • I miss this song!

  • this is wicked funny cause i rmemeber waching this on video or tv when i was like 6 and i rememeber the clock glowing thats about it.

  • lol

    i remember this!!! XD

i'm gonna sing this all day.

  • me too. It's on my ipod LOL

  • lol

    we're major coolsters! XD

  • oh yeah. Hey I'd rather have something from my childhood on my ipod than some shitty pop music that would make me "cool", you know?

  • hells yeah. we're cool for being ourselves! :D

  • indeed. I gotta listen to this song right now. Nothing like this song to get me out of a depressed mood.

  • i know! whenever i'm depressed, this cheers me up, along wiff "Rainbow Veins" :D

  • Darn straight! This is going on the iPod right between "Telephone Rock" and "I Don't Want To Live on The Moon"

  • oh yeah. I have a playlist for thing like this simply title "random and goofy shit" XD No joke.

  • The playlist I have on my iPod for all the classic Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock and Muppet Show songs is called "The Muppets Take My iPod" No joke

  • hahaha wow I believe you.

  • How do you get it on your ipod?

  • I use a program called "Wire Tap Pro," but if you don't have it then I would just take any recording device, hold it up to your speakers while you're recording, and plug it into your computer to put it on your music player. Download it to your iPod etc.

  • Even easier, download Audacity (free audio editor), select input as Stereo Mix, and hit record - then play the song, Audacity will record right off the sound card. Quality is slightly worse than originally, but far better than your suggestion.

  • Wire Tap Pro and Audacity are essentially the same thing. It really just depends on whichever program you have.

  • I found this looking for Rock Around The Clock! This is pretty funny!

  • I love this one! So cute and catchy. When I was a kid though-I got frightened when the clock crashed!

  • Oh my god!

    I know right!

  • haha aww ;)

i love this song, i think i saw this in my early days too. i kinda remember the letters on the clock lightning up!

  • HAHAHAHHAHA me too!

Why did these things used to scare us when we were little ? lol so funny to remember =D

  • Why'd they break the clock anyway? Did they get it off of "Shamrock and Roll" (Merrie Melodies cartoon) or "The Coo Coo Clock Caper" (Inspector Gadget)?

  • I thought they broke the clock to be funny-I think the baby honker head bumped into it.

  • If that's the reason, I think it was a waste of money! The Honkers probably paid hundereds of dollars to get that clock, only to wind up destroying it!

  • Sesame Street never said the Honkers were particularly bright.
