this is for berniebear4u it was reported that Marian was seen in Okatoks trying to sell Dream Catchers. Yes I believe she was. someone else told her what to say. the lady at the store said she looked like Marian and even had a russian accest . but then said no it wasn't her she had blonde hair . hello what is wrong with this picture. People can dye or can have their head shaved and made to wear wigs . that store person should have thought this through and phoned the police. more to come later.

@phillydisco It is hard to say if this girl is still alive,if she is then i think it was Human Trafficking.Under the circumstances.Now her father lost it and stabbed the two people that put up Bail for him in a simuliar case.He is on charges of Attempted Murder and is in jail.I feel sorry for his wife.They say God does,nt give you more than you can handle.Her daughter is missing and her husband is going to jail.Its very sad.

Sure, he's under stress, but the carrying a knife for the purposes of protection or harm is something that he's done before his daughter went missing.

Her parents could not know her that well and she was not close to her brother,she lived with the Granny and him at the Aunts.She would have been 12 when they left her,bonded with Granny,UPROOTED.The only life and lang.she knew,a father that has exposed himself in front of a platground of kids.PIG probaly didnt stop there,maybe he was botherin her too.People do disappear,and are found years later,dead or trying to stay hidden.Remember Morningstar Sharin,Never did find her killer.

This was no kidnapping. This was premeditated. It is no coincidence that this girl disappeared. If this kidnapper did exist, why didn't he take a different girl, but he somehow picked the one girl who had JUST moved to Canada and spoke no English. Smells fishy to me. This has to be the premeditated work of either the family or a bad connection from their homeland. The whole family should have polygraphs done, I see her brother in person every day, and he seems happier then ever.

we have so many problems in Ontario and we have a Police Force who is doing the best job possilbe in trying to find the whereabouts of this young girl - but I sense there is a lot lacking from the parents especially the brother - he looks like he does not care at all, if my sister was gone for 3 months, I would be knocking on doors myself 24/7 - but he is totally oblivious to this quagmire....in my mind he is hiding something - needs to go for a polygraph test as do his parents

If they do find her in Alberta , alive,- good ! but she needs to pay a heavty fine for the costs incrrred by the Province of Ontario. Quite honestly - I have not seen any emotion from her parents nor her brother since her disappearance - these are not people that fear the worst - so my compassion level is down to a minimum. If down the road it is found out that this was a scam - the whole family needs to be deported back to were they came from. We do not need scammers in Canada

These people feed you drugs , shave your head , put you on the street for prositution. even what the house looks like. All I got from crimestoppers was "your tip will be passed on ". This was even before Mariam went missing. If the police had follow up on the leads the women would have been home by now . don't be cruel . these people are very cruel .

I think the girl's father should be looked at more closely. He was charged previously with something pertaining to young girls, perhaps he was molesting his daughter when she was young, now she's older, has had to return to be with him, and so she ran away....

This case has bothered me from day one. I think the only person who apparently witnessed her going to the school was the brother. I haven't heard of anyone else seeing her. Did they go to school at a time later than usual? Are there any cameras along the route they took to show she did walk to school that morning? A little strange it happened the day after the dragon boat race. Perhaps there was an argument after? They act more resigned than hopeful or pleading in their interviews.

Something doesn't add up about nobody being able to verify she made it to school except her brother. He says she went around front b/c her class was closer but nobody saw her. He says they walked to school together but nobody saw them.

Presumably the dad and mom have alibis, right?

she goes to my school and its horrible for all of us. I've never met her or her brother but she's in my friends' history class and she's very nice but very shy. I can't even begin to imagine what her family's going through.

Posters of her are all over the school and the area. It really made the school a lot quieter because even when she's not on our minds, she's on our minds.

I pray to god that she'll return home soon safe and sound.

if i were working on this case, i'd pull the attendance records from the school for that day, and thoroughly investigate each student, teacher, and employee that was absent at ANY TIME during that day, and i'd canvass every house and business within a 1 block radius of the path her and her brother walked between their home and school.
