It was called vector graphics. I assume you never played Asteroids or the original Star Wars arcade game, two of the most badass arcade cabinets of all time. No, you probably weren't even a glimmer in you father's eye when those came out.
It's actually freaking awesome but you need to play it to get it. The music you hear it totally under your control base on how you lock onto and shoot the enemies. It's essentially a music game.
I consider it a music shooter, and the core gameplay is a little boring, but the music aspects and the trance vibrators make it so worth the 10 dollars.
yeah, it's one of those games you can't judge until you've played. Now that it's on Marketplace, there's no reason you can't try it. You'll either love it or hate it. Actually, Daft Punks recent stage shows are kind of like a live non-interactive version of Rez... awesome

For sure.....A unique gameplay experience that doesn't easily fit into genres.
Have you tried the multiple controller setup? I haven't but I've been told it's pretty cool.

Ever played Space Harrier, or After Burner? Similar on-rails shoot em up type of game. It's not boring at all, give it a go.
