  • I remember this from 1973, Loved it then, Love it today, still ! When Music was Music and not the souless Crap from Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and those of their " ilk " who will be forgotten in no time. This is Pure , Classical music that has Meaning, Depth and Soul . Sad that it seems to be lost in today's songs, for the most part. Thanks to Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, Carly Simon and the many more from this era for their Great Music !

  • I totally forgot about this song. Played it many many many times in my LP during those days ! ! ! ! ! Gee, brings back memories of the past. Thank you so so much foe loading this.

  • This is vintage 1975.......there is nothing as original as this one....

  • A wonderful arrangement of another Paul Williams contribution to contemporary music...Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy this particular rendition.

  • Let's add another star, & make it 6. This song is most sentimental to me, it's just beautiful. I won't say that I'll be back again, cause time will only tell. So no good byes for one just passing through, but one who'll always think of you. That line rips right through me. My all time favorite song.

  • reminds me so much of my cousin, Evoy....we sung this song together a week before he passed away.......I miss him so much!!!

  • the best thing about america is its over there

  • 35 years ago, when I was fifteen years old,I ofen listen this beautiful song that flowed from the radio. .Thanks for opportunity to listen Art Garfunkel voice again.I feel happy and recalled that junior high school age with this song.

  • I can remember hearing this on FM radio in early '74 around the time the album was relased. This was the first song off of this album I had heard. It's no less than an epic recording with incredibly beautiful orchestration that includes a pipe organ. And Art's voice is one of a kind. Beautiful!

  • Gives me chills. This man is fantastic.

  • I believe the lead guitarist is dean parks

  • Nice!!! His voice is just like a lullaby...Thanks for posting this.

  • god what a good song, and the guitars , Louis Shelton I think, class...

  • @Howardsend88 That's Louis, alright! If you can find 'em, check out his playing on Big Mac and Dance By The Light Of The Moon by Seals & Crofts. They're on the Unborn Child album, which I don't think has been released on CD, but Shelton's playing is fantastic on those tracks, much like he sounds here.

  • Man This is Fire, this is what real music is!!!!!!

  • What a superplay Hal Blaine did!

  • After thirty years, we found each other again. He's been married three times. I never did. He said that he always did think of me. I knew that he would...

  • Kyle thanks for posting this song.I bought the album back in the day because people said I looked like Art and wound up listened to this record over and over and over, especially this song. If I am right - Jimmie Webb produced this song. Michael Omartian on the keys who went on to become a prolific producer in his own right. Long story short - ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS/RECORDINGS OF ALL TIME. Thanks Kyle again for posting it.

  • You're Ver Welcome.

  • @Steveblaster1 Roy Halee produced this. It was written by Paul Williams and Roger Nichols. Webb wrote All I Know, which is on the same album, and Art did work with Jimmie again, even doing an entire album of songs written by him (Watermark).

  • Great post! I've always loved this song. It still gives me chills. Artie's in top form on this. And that lineup of studio musicians is impeccable! The underrated Louie Shelton on guitar with The Wrecking Crew! No pitch correction in the studio on this stuff, folks! Just people who knew what they were doing!

  • You're Welcome.

  • Just beautiful!! I have never heard this one, and as an Art Garfunkel fan forever, I have missed out! Thank you for the post!

  • You're Welcome.

  • @ChrisCurtisFan Me too.My mind becomes warm.

  • @Gary: how right you are... there are many songs hidden on albums, B sides, in fact records that hardly sold any copies at all, but contain brilliant songs that either lay totally dormant, or surface (in one form or another) years later.. "Travelling Boy" by Art Garfunkel is the best version of this remarkable song that i've ever heard ! 5stars.

  • So True.

  • @gazzymodo thanks...It's Beautiful! Love a* xxoo

  • 私が中学生のころよく聞いていました。この歌と、これからの自分の生き方を重ね合わせていました。今は49歳。あのころに戻りたいです。

  • A super, super song...I love how it builds in power. What a voice!

  • So true.

  • Remember, it doesn't have to be a hit to be a great song. Some of the greatest & best songs written were never hits.

  • Such a great song. Too bad that was not a hit for Art.

  • Actually it was released as a single back in the 70's.
