  • wtf has this band been doing to my mind for more than 15 years with 3 freakin albums??

  • Thats really happen in this world??

  • Guess I missed the boat on these guys, will they ever tour again? It'd be awesome to see them live at least once.

  • @Pwnzor729

they are touring at the moment. saw them a month ago.

  • This is only my opinion, but I think third is their best album. It's an evolution of their sound, and the beauty of her voice shows through the most. Deep water, threads, nylon smile- cant be beaten!

  • I'm so hypnotized..

  • check out our cover version of The Rip featuring Betty Lenard!

  • @AKAAKAlive Stop plugging yourself on every clip dude.

  • That beat is sick. So badass to end the show with that arrangement!

  • you see portishead in barcelona we carry on . the people jumping in the scene. incredible

  • Brilliant.

  • just perfect. too many voice on a song and they are so clear.

    thanks Portishead.

  • I'm a huge Radiohead fan and I know i got to have Portishead on my Ipod

  • This is just beyond belief :)

  • Favorite song of this album.... awesome performance

  • Luv the way she walks off stage leaving only a mic stand, letting the band soak up the vibes & just play, unselfish!!! Wewt Beth, Wewt...

  • This is awesome to be honest [:

Third is an outstanding album [:

  • fucking mindblowing. silver apples are watching and applauding.

  • been tryin to find the negative comments.... they didn´t display on my search.... about Portishead - you have to love em or hate em with their music... i can say i love em.... maybe you have to have seen em live too... I have seen Beth life touring with her solo album on tour with rustin man... you have to love this woman... her voice is magic... she is an elf... love every single song she ever made...

  • right on, genious = Gibbons and Yorke . coconutman1987 you learn fast !

amazing performance i agre 10000000% Theom.

  • this is goooood sh't

  • A great fusion of late 70's styles. Love the Cabaret Voltaire synths and Joy Division Guitar Riff.

  • Trance ... damn, so gooooooooooooooooddddd. love it!!!!!

  • FUCKIN AWESOME ¡

  • pure psychedelia..

  • I seriously wish we got Jools Holland's show here in America.

  • @shud1 I thought BBC America shows it

  • @ELCNUmorFnaMehT ::::I don't have any expanded cable or anything, but the BBC I've seen only shows the news. *thumbs down*

  • love portishead to bits, but really, why do they have to look so miserable all the time!?

  • @Torekgo Yes, yes they do.

  • @Torekgo Yeah their music seems to always be depressing

  • I love Beth....I really, really want them to do a small tour of the US and come to Chicago. I think I'd be beside myself if I saw them live....

  • @chicagosamantha NOT SO!! I'd drive in from Cincinnati to see them.

  • LOL at her just walking off when her part is over.

  • Strange how the two most creative bands on the planet both end in "Head".

  • @Eightbanger What is anotherone?

  • @ETTIWON Begins with Radio.....;)

  • @Eightbanger I hope you mean machinehead.

  • Don't care if they're 80 hope they keep on creating and playing.

  • One word! Beautiful.

  • silver applely!

  • the drummer loox like someone from soad lol

  • @shit311 the drummer is clive deamer my wifes cousin who holds 2 mercury awards 1with portishead 1 with ronnie size his current group is the blessing give it a look

  • I really can understand how someone can NOT like Portishead, but oh my - how I commiserate him. :-)

  • @YoungPulteney Agreed!!

  • this album, ROCKS!

  • Portishead FTW!!!....I love this jam.

  • Yes like the Silver Apples with New Order guitar, but that aside it........ rocks, I want to see if they play this in the gastropubs of England! I think not, brilliant head music!

  • Silver Apples much?

  • Wow! Some awesome s**t!

  • Sound very good but maybe too much like "Silver Apples - Oscillations". Listen, compare...

  • portishead!!

  • then we would all have hearing damage

  • briliiant

  • This song is a master piece.

  • Una de las mejores bandas de la historia de la música... y no exagero...

  • What guitar is Adrian playing there???

  • Beth is singing this like Nancy from Oliver the musical.

  • isnt this song inspired by 'The heart of the Sun' - Pink Floyd?

reminded me a lot!! awesome both

  • Comment removed

  • So awesome. Every time I see two standing drummers all I can think of is Sigue Sigue Sputnik!

  • I think if Gibbons and Yorke got together they could do some serious vocal damage together...

  • OH GOD YES

  • @coconutman1987 most def agree with you----how about both bands at the same time

  • @coconutman1987 That is a ridiculously amazing idea! It would melt brains...heh.

  • @coconutman1987 fuck me, that would be so amazing. fucking great idea man!

  • @coconutman1987 What a great idea buddy! Two great voices. Lyrics by Thom, of course!!

  • @coconutman1987 hahahaaha...my thoughts exactly...when we will hear portishead vs radiohead?? that would be....

  • @coconutman1987 c'mon man, I'm trying to enjoy a good song played live by a good group who sound original. Don't bring in the Radiohead Cult.

  • @coconutman1987 Oh yes! And with Slash doing wild solos and Phil Collins playing his latest drum fills!

  • correction, seconds*

  • This song is completely insane

  • son una de las mejores bandas que ai

  • 4:45 so fucking sick

  • What is at 4:45?

  • @catinapoke

well, i guess it's a few minutes before that riff drops. adrian utley is criminally underrated as a guitarist.

  • Amazing song.

  • Good old Clive on the drums :)

  • Wonderful, really great stuff......

  • I like all the Portishead albums, but Third is now my favorite.

  • Potishead new Single "Chase The Tear"

  • 最高

  • Yes

  • She looks like she feels the pain and I think I love her.

  • I love that you can always count on Beth Gibbons to look exactly the same no matter how much time passes.

  • orgasmic

  • Who fancies a cup of tea? One or two sugars? It will go nicely with Portisbread.

  • Can.

  • parece la epoca de Pink Floyd cuando estaba Syd B..

    muy bueno..

  • the poorest comments ever people... at least you listen to portishead but what a lot of bulls....it PORTISHEAD rules

  • Sorry I'm having too much fun picturing in my mind "tribal Spanish dancers with bulls"... Thanks for acknowledging our musical tradition wich is good, but no tribes here since the Roman Empire (well there are some punk guys in Granada), and bulls are poor suffering animals wich shouldn't be treated like that. Having said this, awesome song, awesome band,

    cheers!

  • You've never heard of dem Spanish Indians? What kind of a Spaniard are ya, matey?!

  • Yes, that's it - flamenco stuff!

  • For some reason this reminds me of things Spanish (I can't explain further). At the same time it is very tribal. Maybe a tribal Spanish thing with bulls or dancers... what the fuck am I talking about?

  • Quite a valid question.

  • haha. agreed.

  • complete Silver Apples - Oscilations rip off - good song though

  • @mattproctor333 rip off? I would say it's a tribute to the great Silver Apples, not a rip off.

  • I think portishead like Silver apples.

  • im getting a little bit of a radiohead vibe here

  • They're major influences to each other.

  • Gloaming?

  • Definetely! Nice connection there.

  • They are the best!!!!!!

  • I have had this album for ages but its watching this live stuff that's making me pick it up again and give it a listen. brilliant instrumentals

  • Im pretty sure its from their newest album which is pretty recent, if you don't have it check it out. its good

  • jesus. thats one of the more ballsy and amazing live performances I have ever seen. wow.

  • Krank this fantastic sound up!! Only 2 female vocalists i like to listen to Beth + Karen O.

  • don't know about "only two" but yeah, they're amazing.

  • Try PJ Harvey out, shes up there amongst those 2.

  • Nice performance...

  • fuck you

  • i totally agree

  • I kind of like the new style.

  • She looks cuter every time I see her... damn...

  • kinda like watching an orchestra

  • i agree with pacoiec, i wanna give it to beth to...

  • this show used to air here before...

    I HATE FRANCE!

  • I HATE YOU!

  • you hate me because, i'm sad i can't watch "later with jools holland" anymore!?

because down here i can't go and see my favorite bands/artists live on stage for the only reason the don't come to play?

and because soon i won't be able to work because music is not considered as a real job here?

    well then fine! hate me!

  • sorry i know this is sad but the conversation totally cracked me up XD

  • Very fresh album and very different to their older ones. I love them and Beth is literally stunning.

  • This album does not push artistic boundaries. Don't be ridiculous. None of these sounds or compositions are groundbreaking. They're just VERY good.

It is an excellent album and worthy of praise.

  • Whats it with jools pronouciation.."portisHEAD"

he says it the same with Radiohead as well

  • just his accent

  • no mames que buena cancion

  • i feel really lucky being a fan of this band.

  • I just want to give it to Beth.

  • fucking bad ass!

  • Listen, listen then listen again, then you'll get it, classic album!

  • It is like that, needs multiple listens before you can wrap your head around all of it. That's what happens with something that is really new, something that breaks new ground. This album pushes artistic boundaries.

  • My favorite from Third

  • Beth makes Thom Yorke look like the most cheerful person you'll meet

  • true she looks like down thom sometimes is but he's a cool dude lol

  • haha thats so true

  • Third is on of those albums the more your hear, the more you love it

  • I know exactly what you mean. I hated radiohead, bjork, and portishead. Now I'm obsessed! I really believe the concept for their music hits you at different stages in your life.

  • I AGREE. AMAZING NOW FOR ME...not so much 3 years ago.

  • portishead enrich my existence

  • i love portishead and i loved their previous albums but this new album is making me go insane lol is so fucking good. i loved their previous sound but they want different sucess with each new sound they add to their foundation sound and i love it.

  • hipnotic, so deep, so ancestral...

  • so artists can grow artistically they need to explore new areas and forms of creation, or else their work would be an endless monotony... of course they´ll keep part of the fans happy by composing the same stuff, but what about them? I love both their past work and this one :D

  • Forget the old stuff for a minute (yes it was epic, we all know that :D ) and listen with fresh ears, it's bloody good actually.

  • It's better than the old stuff

You forget that ten years have past, and they have all grown older.

he new sound is more stripped, less hip-hop influenced and darker than ever.

    It's brilliant.

I think the new sound is a very good reflection of what time we live in

And beth's voice is still one of the most beautiful voices ive ever heard

  • This is a great record, it took me like 5 listens to really appreciate it, but now it has grown in me and i love the hell out of it

  • 6:04 - the guitarist looks like the main villan from Die Hard I. LOL...XD. This is a great song and album!
