  • Awesome, has really helped with some tracks that I'm making

  • How do you open up that virtual keyboard to hear the preview sound? I'm stuck with that.

  • @FisherxCOREEEE if you press caps lock the keyboard will show up

  • awesome tutorial. this is gonna make me load the ol' logic back up lol

  • that was a great tutorial

  • This is one of the first videos I checked out, seriously the opening song is so DOPE. This really opened up my mind. Thought I'd check back and watch again to see if I missed anything. Is there anyway to record Automation parameters live? If that makes any sense. Thanks for sharing!

  • @DanSemotan thanks Dan! You can record them live by switching the track into Latch mode, playing the track and moving the knobs. It will all be written as automation, I actually cover it quickly in part 2 of the video.

    .

  • @DubSpot Looks like I need to watch again ;) Thanks for the comment

  • @DubSpot where can i find the song

  • @DanSemotan whats itr called and where can i find it

  • finish that and upload it <3

  • @iEmbarked if you email the address in the video we'll send you a copy of the project, you can take it and make your own version!

  • Thanks man. Big ups.

  • es2 is the shit. i love logic and dubstep, fuck yea!

  • im on es2 but i cant open tutorial.

when i click it, it just says like next setting previous setting copy setting etc

    any help?

  • @BrIaNqUaDe under where it says next setting, previous setting and all that there should be a list of instruments, tutorial is among those

  • @SlevinWhite lol thanks man hahahah :)

  • Hey thanks for the tutorial man, I like the sound. I pretty much copied every step exactly and it sounds just like it, but for some reason it sounds really out of tune. Especially with a lower octave, a C will sound really detuned and if i try to correct it using any pitch correction, it messes up the high notes! Can you help me out? Thanks a bunch

  • @spada283 Make sure you haven't got anything assigned to either the 'pitch' or 'detune' parameters in the modulation matrix, that could definitely affect your tuning.

  • hey can anyone tell me how he got the keyboard thing up at about 1 :45 ?

  • Thanks for this dude!!

  • i have no other way of explaining this but instead of making it go owowowow

i want it to go wowowowow with at the ow at the begging.. does that make sense?

  • @c25ole - press the caps-lock key :)

  • i've tried to do it forever now but at 1:44 you open up the keyboard piano. HOW DO I OPEN THAT UP???? all i can find is the piano roll which is not what i want.

  • Where i can download this program if its posible free? Help !!

  • @trax9311 Unfortunately Logic is not free, nor is there a trial version. You can buy it from apple.com

  • @DubSpot Thanks

  • @trax9311 you can find it for illegaly on the internet everywhere though!

I don't recommend it (I am a hypocritical yes) but you could try the pirate bay.

  • @remco366 hey.. thanks i will try it on pirate bay.

  • at the beggining of the wobble's note I hear a pluck from a guitar........any ideas on how to fix that?

  • @PrincipleDubstep try adjusting the attack slider

  • when i open the 2nd ocelator or however you spell it and i then choose the glass 3 setting my sound doesn't change from the previous sound it makes before you open ocelator 2?

  • @galvanizeme123 make sure you have dialled the first oscillator around to about 1 o'clock so that it adds some frequency modulation.

  • mine doesnt have the presets for tutorial settings can i get some help?

  • @THEHOLYDIVE you'll probably need to re-install logic

  • How do you set it so that the track you have selected is bigger than the others?

  • @OverDoseOfPassion if you go to the view menu and select 'auto track zoom' that should do it for you.

  • this is a pretty awful tutorial for the wobble bass in logic, totally wrong approach in my opinion, you are pretty much limiting your possibilities using this technique

  • @Ravenpulse I'd love to hear how you'd approach it. What would you do differently?

  • @Ravenpulse there is no wrong approach as long as it sounds good,,, thats the beauty of production

  • @Ravenpulse when recording there's no such thing as wrong, it's al just techniques, and if you have a different way then fine, but this might just be a different technique, not right or wrong.

  • @Ravenpulse i agree, his bass doesnt even sound good... not enough dirt

  • @worldindusa if you'd like to add dirt, trying adding some distortion, or switching wave forms.

  • awesome tutorial dude.. easy to follow...very helpful 5 starssssss!

  • do you know how to make the YEAAAHHHHHH bass noise like in the zeds dead tracks

    example: /watch?v=xfPgj9yu3YY

  • @mymorningzion check out the 'dubstep womp bass' tutorial done in reason on our channel, the basic principles are the same

    youtube.com/watch?v=bC77nd9s1QA

  • @DubSpot any ideas on how to make the 'whomp bass' sound in logic?

  • @jamesisaguitar hey, yeah I think we'll do a video for it. Stay tuned. If you know synthesis you can check out the reason video on our channel and apply the same principles.

  • i have so many ideas but never got the sound right. now it sounds much better, still got to practice alot. this was very helpfull

  • you know at like around 2:19 he has a keyboard window thing open how do you get that ???? sorry just got logic so abit of a noob :P

  • @GreMliiNGFX Capslock

  • Thank you so much! I have to make a remix for uni and this is was the most helpful thing I've seen on the net so far!

    You = the man

  • Logic noob here :/

How do i load up the preset?

whenever i click on where your clicking i dont get that setting

could someone tell me where the location of tutorial settings is?

  • @inthe4and20spacings if you are using a properly installed version of logic the settings will be in that menu. You might want to re-install from the original discs.

  • Would be very helpful if you could make a vid of just the composition of the bass

  • Would be very helpful if you could make a vid of the composition of a bass

  • @AbakusMusic LOL yes, that's actually the subliminal message I was sending you all. That and COOL COOL COOL COOL. :)

  • that beat at :39 is actually fucking amazing

  • @Skaterman3323 thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • The one thing that no one ever shows on these vids is basic bass line composition. I assume from watching this video that you have two parallel bass line copies that alternate octaves between every other eighth which may (or may not) explain the jumpiness (erraticness) of the bass line structure but what about the actual composition/ scale structure? The jumping octaves throws me off...

  • @ObamaJoker Thanks for commenting. The bassline was just something I threw in there to demonstrate the synthesis concepts, the focus was more on the sonic quality. It might be cool to do a tutorial about bassline composition though, we'll keep that in mind.

  • @DubSpot Yes, it'd be nice and it'd be a first. Thanks for your consideration.

  • is logic only for macs?

  • @goubster unfortunately yes, it's mac only since apple bought the company

  • ive been looking for something like this for so long...please keep making logic tutorials!

  • thanks to everyone who enjoyed the tutorial, we're gonna make more soon!

@verzeda I think jackemelkin has you there. Try some different distortion settings in the bitcrusher. Also try changing waveforms in the ES2 for the second oscillator. Also maybe some different filter envelope settings assigned in the mod matrix like I showed in the vid. Good luck!

  • THANKS A LOT!

  • nice how do i sign up to get project file

  • YOU WIN!!!!!!

  • Dubspot u are amazing probs 1 of the best tutorials on dubstep i have seen bless x

  • Dman good sound

  • really easy to follow... thanks a lot. looking forward to future dubstep logic tutorials from you guys

  • @maskde Glad you liked it, there will be others coming soon...

  • @sonnybrown thanks man, glad you enjoyed it! We try to go a little further than the rest :)

  • @DubSpot

I already know how to make a dubstep wobble and make it quite grimy but I was wondering if you knew how to make that froggy, croaky bitcrushed-sounding kind of bass that borgore uses quite a lot?

  • @verzeda Set up an ES2 like in the video they add an insert > distortion > bitcrusher > stereo then change the downsampling to like 22x :)

  • That's a very good tutorial guys. Most people just say slap an LFO on the cutoff n ur good. You take it a few steps further talking about how to make the patterns interesting. Cool shiz

  • thanx for this video

  • THANK YOU FOR SHARING

  • i dont like dubstep, but i enjoy the ableton tuts!
