Im not here to cater to the population.

  • Instruct not drive no radio please

  • @dempzzey

Yet another person who cant read the description.

  • How do you use the blue button spliit. Is for heavy louds but how you use

  • @MrInquieto1

The blue button is not a splitter like it is on 13 / 18 speeds.

It is simply to access a set of gears below low range.

  • @MagnaV3084 if you understand 15 speed can you please explain i never understand 15 speed

  • turn that shit ass music down for fucks sake

  • @Monsterdipper550

I have already mentioned that it is louder than I intended.

Im not holding a gun to your head forcing you to watch, which means you have two options:

Turn down your volume, or dont watch my video.

Still dont like it? Shove it.

  • Thanks once again for your response. That is exactly the point that I am driving at as you don't show somebody something he or she knows. This type of things should be for the benefit of those that will be interested in understanding it and as things are about this clip somebody that is trying to learn can never achieve any positive thing here. Thanks for at least putting up something and will really appreciate it if you can redo it more clearly and with a captions for the benefit of the learners.

  • @ABIBODGLOBAL

I see what your aiming at, but shifting a HD transmission is the same no matter if its a 9 speed, right up to the 18 speed. The only difference is shift pattern and interlocks. That is what I mean by anyone who has driven truck should know what I'm getting at in this vid.

Now that I'm working days, Ill get around to shooting a new vid, perhaps while im running a super B, so there is plenty of time between shifts.

  • Thanks for your response. The noise that I am talking about is the loud music. The purpose of this video clip is not for a disco tech but to educate people that might be interested in knowing how to shift a 15 speed. There was a particular clip that I saw which was very interesting and and explanatory but it was an 18 speed.I understand both the 13 and 18 speeds.I also understand that of the 15 with a diagram that I have seen but I will still like to see somebody practicalise it with captions.

  • @ABIBODGLOBAL

It wasnt originally supposed to be an educational vid. Someone simply asked me to shoot some footage of my shifting, and so I did.

Unless you didnt notice, I did caption it. Anyone who has driven truck, should understand what I am saying enough to extrapolate what is going on.

  • This is rubbish.I don't think he knows what he is doing with the hell of a noise he is making.

  • @ABIBODGLOBAL

I dont hear any noise, aside from a non insulated Sterling with a Detroit 60 series.

Pretty sure what you think is gear noise, is the fact that I shift on the Jakes.

  • The noise of the music makes it so annoying and to worsen the case he was just driving without a word.He is to make people understand what is going on.Unfortunately nothing what achieved from this video clip.

  • there arnt very many vids of people shifting a 15speed and i still don't get how it goes, i saw you go.. LO, 1, 2, 3, 4, and i think 5 then to HI range.... or something like that, and why is there a splitter on the side and when is it used?? can u explain?

  • @elwm444 This is going to take a couple comments.

Think of the transmission like a three storey building.

On each level you have five possible gears

floor one is called deep reduction, floor two is Lo Range, floor three is Hi Range

floor one and two overlap by three gears.

The blue split button on the side controls deep reduction, the black one on the front controls hi/lo range split.

So if you were to go right from bottom to top, you would start in deep reduction, low gear, then deep second,

  • @elwm444

deep third, deep fourth, then you would shift the blue knob so your in Lo Range, then move the stick to the Lo Range THIRD gear (like I said, they overlap), then Lo 4, Shift to Hi Range and move stick to Hi Range Low, then Hi 1, Hi 2, Hi 3, Hi 4.

You can go from deep to lo at almost any time, deep 1 to lo low, deep 2 to lo 1, deep 3 to lo 2, and deep 4 to lo 3.

    Make sense now?

  • @MagnaV3084 It makes more sense now, ya I just never figured that the 3rd an 4th overlap like that. In a way it's almost like an 8LL trans with deep reduction gearing. I guess the only way for it to actually make the most sense is to find a truck with a 15 speed and give her a whirl. I have shifted 6, 8, 9, 10, super 10, 13 and 18 but never 8LL or 15. I'm guessing the 15 speed is an older truck thing because i don't see it often

  • @elwm444

15 is a heavy city style or dump truck style of transmission.

Completely useless on the highway, or for loads over 100,000lb

I would much prefer an 18.

  • @MagnaV3084 Ya kinda thought so, I'll stick to the easy and more popular ones. Thanks for the Info though... oh ya an happy new year too hahaha have a good one!

  • What's the name of the song playing?

  • @mtheis85

The song is "Killing You" By Tech N9ne off of the album "KOD" released in late 09.

    My favorite artist.

  • Yes, I realized after I played it, but if I overwrite the soundtrack then you cannot hear the engine.

  • Would have been better without the music
