everyone on youtube so far makes theirs on the stove top. my mother was an excellent southern cook and her candied yams were to die for. Although she didn't use apples or raisins, this recipe is so similar to hers . She layered the yams and sprinkled with brown sugar and possibly white as well and dotted the potatoes with butter. I bet you are a good cook/ I will try this variation :)
