in all honesty people with down syndrome are genetical mishaps, just because the human race has evolved so much doesnt mean we should keep these traits going, natural selection would have gotten rid of down's syndrome and many other disabilities by now

Boy you are stupid... Natural Selection has nothing to do with Downs... its an adverse reaction the eggs in a female have with the environment. Toxins can cause nondisjunction in which chromosomes fail to separate... Please study science before you comment.

yeah i know how its formed but if we didnt support these children they would soon die off, the same with elderly people, our society is so much more able to cope with the ageing that we can keep them alive well into their 90's, where their bodies slowly die, this would be fine if it was natural but it isn't, we keep them alive with chemicals and machines, balance is what's needed not liberal thoughts on life (im not american and i dont find into a shit stereotype of republican/democrat)

The problem with this mindset is that once you stop valuing some life...then you keep pushing the line... Why should we then allow people who get constantly sick alive, cancer patients, cystic fibrosis, low iq... this is called eugenics and is nothing new...its a progressive mindset that was common in Germany and Italy in the 1940's

I totaly agree with you. Being a father & again soon with another child we came aware that he has Trisomy 9 Mosaic. Doctors said to abort a mth ago, due to quality of life. He's due in 6wks. What quality of life means is that no matter what problems your child has you as a parent have a role in their life. No matter what their needs are. Being selfish & not wanting the problems of any child is something that sadens me, its a shame many people think that. I for one am proud to have him in my life
