  • faaaaack. why oh why did I not get into this when I was younger.

  • This mans voice sends chills up my spine

  • 2:29 listen to that fucking POWER.

  • You can feel the power in his voice fucking amazing. I agree Chris Cornell is badass too who said both cant be great. Laynes voice is so shredded fucking love it. Chris' voice is a little more cleaner but yeah there both greats

  • Jesus jumped up christ, I honestly didn't think Layne did those intro vocals on Dirt until just now. Damn, man. Only the good die young.

    Staley? Dead.

    Cobain? Dead.

    Burton? Dead.

    Bret Michaels? Still fucking alive.

  • @IssacPlaysGuitarHero

To be hones I thought he sounded even better than in the album

  • why have to die the best?

    i don't understand it!

    Dammit!!

  • Holy fuck some great vocals

  • MASTERPIECE!

  • not even funny how beast this is..

  • Those vocal harmonies are unreal, excellent upload.

  • simply orgasmic...

  • So powerful, so brilliant vocals. This is even better than the album version of Rooster imho

  • Also the true king of grunge is Neil Young lol

  • amen.haha keep on rockin in the free world.cuz its better to burn out than to fade away

  • this is a badass live performance....too bad layne was sucked into the old "rockers must do drugs so much they shit in their own pants at 86 lbs and die" lifestyle. a shame.

  • chris cornell is not a fail in any sense of the word. eddy veedy is my second favorite. kurt cobain was the best. Layne was wayyyyyyy under rated tho. aic is still making music which is why i like them. but kurt cobain and nirvana were the best of the 90s u can argue it all you want but nirvana was and is the best

  • you know whats sad man. the last 10 years, the best selling "rock and roll" (if you can even call it that) band, is nickelback. how fucking sad. I was just a kid in the 90's, I loved these bands but I could never have fully grasped how truly badass they were till they were gone.

  • LOL, if you say so bro.

  • Im sorry you all can hate me but grunge gods were Layne Staley and that dude from Pearl Jam ( forgot his name sry )

Chris Cornell fails hard sorry. Kurt Cobain was amazing but hes a little overrated. Just my opinion

  • eddy vetter is pearm jams singer

  • @thedude32725 it's Eddie Vedder :p and Pearl Jam

  • Eddie Vedder is Pearl Jam's singer. Whats your opinion of Scott Weiland then jonasbrosmustdie? By the way I love your name.

  • Pearl Jam isn't grunge. They said it themselves.

  • @xlaten They're hard rock

  • @JonasBrosMustDie

Considering your name, what's your opinion on Justin Bieber?

  • @Nintendorks12345

He's a loser too but hes still young so I cut him slightly more slack.

  • Have you ever seen his music videos? They are the funniest, most egotistical videos ever. I can't stand him, but it comforts me to know he won't be worth shit in a bout 1 or 2 years, like Jonas Bros. or Soulja Boy.

  • your name is so awesome i wish i would have thought of that..fucking faggy ass jonas brothers...

  • You forgot Jerry Cantrell. He's the backbone of Alice. Also, the Melvins. As much as they hate the term, they are one of the original "grunge" bands.

  • @JonasBrosMustDie Dude, have you heard Chris sing "Beyond The Wheel? No lol. I LOVE Layne, but recognize greatness.

  • 2:28 to 2:57..........god damn man you cannot name anyone in the 90's better than this man, yes sorry Kurt and Chris Cornell as much as i loved them as well Layne Staley was better

  • I've only heard this song once/ in Terminator Salvation and at a Three Days Grace concert where it was covered, I love it! :P

  • Finally someting with layne, not gonna knock duvall, but i wanted to here layne live

  • Fuckin incredible vocals, sounds just as good live than studio

  • of course not, no one can replace this man, he sounds better live i seen them years ago, number 1 always

  • of course not, impossible to replace lead singers..

  • i heard new alice n chains for the first time yesterday. they wernt that bad but it will nver be as good ad with layne

    RIP Layne

  • I love how all the comments are just posative

instead of some bullshit bickering about stuff that aint got nothing to do with the song

  • Best singer of his time live by a long shot

  • I can't believe this song was in Terminator Salvation

  • because it's one the best songs ever fucking made

  • My brother use to listen to this song.... Fucking awesome scene..

  • respect for Mr. Staley... pay tribute... one of the most respected vocalist today in our generation...... great fucking voice just awesome....

  • This song never gets old. Best AIC song ever! Hell Dirt was one bad ass album start to finish!

  • layne r.i.p please.......goddamn you rock!

  • Vocals Kick Ass rip layne

  • well this is fucking amazing.

  • exactly

    +100

    this is the BEST version

  • this version is the best!

    Laynes voice...OMG...*faints*

RIP LAYNE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!

  • agreed with this being the best live version of Rooster.

  • Ive heard this song a million times, but never this version until a month ago. i even own Nothing Safe but...friend had it on the ipod on the drive back home...and when layne kicked in with YEAHHHH...i was blown back like holy shit. this version wins!

  • Laynes voice in this version is SOOOO haunting compared to the others..IDK why but I just love this version and his screams...MMMMMMMMMMMM

    RIP LAYNE!

  • now THIS is what I was looking for, thanks for uploading this verion :)

  • wish i could find a live video performance of this song..

by far the best version, its even better than the original.

  • you know he aint gonna die...

    kseftiliste ta poutanakia re......

den tha pethanoume pote koufala nekrothafti

  • OMFG, this is live perfection.

  • I remember this version being on the first AIC CD I bought, right around the time that I started getting into AIC a lot, which was "Nothing Safe : Best of the Box" and that CD really gave me a look inside what AIC was really about. This was the first time I heard rooster and I think this is deff. the best version of this song out there.

  • agreed

  • @nyguesswho thats was my first AIC cd to,yeah to bad bands dont play like this anymore

  • R.I.P. Layne. We really miss you brother.

  • No band from that era can touch these guys

  • @kevinAIC33 no band from any era, considering that was the best era of music

  • @bcgabriot Amen. But '60 and '70 were the best time for music. Not a huge fan of all those grunge bands. Nirvana was good. Not into Soundgarden much anymore and Pearl Jam is ok,.

  • I like how Layne always managed to squeeze out a few more vibratos before the note ends. You can hear he really actually tried to put in a lot of EFFORT into it.

  • Better than the studio

  • layne...god dammit another one gone
