  • This makes me want to form a band! Only a few decades too late though...

    Great to see this performance.

  • @whiskywineandbeer DON'T let that stop you! Go for it!

  • Thankyou soooooooooooooooooooooooo much for putting this up - I love this song and Album, these guys were just as informative to my middle teens music aware ness as The Clash and Joy Division. Great Band.

  • I remember that I was working on my car, while listening to this song. A woman walked by and said "What the hell are you listening too?". I laughed. She was cute enough but she didn't "get it". More of them "get it" now but there's still too many that don't. However, it's getting WAY better, just sayin' We're slowly approaching 57 miles west of Venus. Thanks for posting.

  • Pure New Wave !

  • ca torche !!!

  • For years I thought she said " i 'm not no lil' black girl', which makes about as much sense as limburger

  • I believe that these young artists were still going to college in Atlanta,GA-USA. They must had too much Java with Fred Schneider. Just wanted to mess around i guess!! Love u all. Hope to hear more from u all.

  • Did they have any idea then that they would be who they are to the world today?

  • @Iamonly1 Nope, They had low expectations. They wouldn't have even recorded their first album if, After their first show in NYC, A friend of theirs didn't ask if the crowd liked them. Seriously, They were going to just drive home and that would have been it.

  • @101Volts changed my fucking life mate. I saw them on Saturday night live!! I got I crop the next day!! haha

  • A real kick butt and don't take name band. Even though they sounded the same but was true to their roots. Big ups and 2 thumbs up. Saw them in concert and what a performance. Never a dull moment.

  • so glad that they made it big - sometimes truly interesting bands actually get played. this brings back so many high school memories - perfect party group ! The whole album was both fun and profound - unlikely there will ever be another group like them.

  • Now this is the shit ..Love it

  • no one like the B-52'S!!!!!!!!!! thanks

  • fantastic... i loved them untill i was 15... thanks for your uploading: this show me their beginning

  • LOL.. Ricky says "thank you", in guitar tounge @4:27. Sweet. =D

  • seriously one of the best songs I have heard in years...AMAZING, love the tamborine beat

  • Used to work out at Better Bodies gym on West 19th Street way back when and would watch Fred Schneider and his trainer work out... boy, was he a disaster at the gym, but what an incredible talent he is!

  • Whoever posted this should really allow it to be shared on FB and other sites.

  • Dance it over! I'm not no Limburger

  • Dance it over!

  • Awesome! Why don't you dance with me? I'm not no Limburgher!

  • super!

  • OK as a mid-80's hardcore, wow. Had no idea. Pistols came out in 76. This gives a glimpse int Fred Durst when he was feeling pretty comfortable on stage and not the geek he projects. This vid is a musical gem. And people, remember, this is YOU. Back then we were the rock stars.

I love you all beyond words even if you never met me. I was the guy behind the curtain.

  • @OhNoyate

Fred Schneider was pretty good in it, too.

  • WOW! FANTASTIC!!!

  • That little move Fred makes at 2:00 kills me !!

    What a great band

  • fucking brilliant. I want to go to parties.

  • These people should never get old...

  • Ricky Wilson (RIP) was an incredible guitar player, to duplicate his unique style is nearly impossible to get 100%.

  • I don't think words can adequately describe how awesome this video is. For Christ's sake, Fred Schneider in a wife beater. Nuff said.

  • Love it....GREAT!!

  • the best--great

  • the best

  • Caught the show in Athens last night. Great show! They didn't play DTMA though. (:

  • Awesome footage of a truly brilliant performance, cheers for sharing

  • How Haunting is this so weird watchin black n white when the tunes just dont date

    52 Girls your AWESOOOOOOOOME

    :)

  • I wish the Jefferson Airplane could've gotten off their pulpit long enough to dance their mess around. Can you imagine Balin banging away on a toy piano w/ Grace doing the pogo ....or the chook a-loo?

  • @DaDa2Phlux you are so right about that - still, the airplane dance their perfect mess around - but yes, less backbeaten and snottier than thou

  • Incredibly talented music artist from the time they first begun and still going strong the best go-go dance music to me. i still like to shake on that dance floor-PLANET CLAIRE QUICHE LORRAINE AND DANCE THIS MESS AROUND IS WHAT I LIKE TO START MY DAY WITH. • @TalkingOcean1 have you seen the `asylum street spankers` version of this song ? It`s here on youtube, made me lol

  • @TalkingOcean1 and check out `siouxsie and the banshees shadowtime ` the bansheesofficial clip.

  • such a powerful work of art

  • I have dedicated one of my guitars and some of my time to the Ricky Wilson method of tuning. I've herd he removed the d and g string some say the g string only. So far I've attempted the d&g string method lowering the low e to whatever then tuning the a to the octive like on a 12 string then I tuned the b to the octive of whatever the low e is then the high e to its octive. Sounds cool. Works for rock lobster. I just love his simple yet surrounding sound !

  • This song is the ultimate cranked up with big, big woofers. One of B52s best ever

  • everyone thinks rock lobster this is soooo much better!!!

  • Brings back some great memories, Roger!

  • Damn@Cindy!!!

  • "walk, talk, in the name of love - before you break my heart - think it over - roll over in your mind." Great lyrics. I love that this footage was from 1978, which was before they released their self-titled masterpiece. Very fresh and raw.

  • pioneers

  • goddamn. the creativity these guys had. Thanks SO MUCH for these clips!

  • @mishabear TOTALLY AGREE AWESOME 2011 and the music doesn t date :)

  • They lost everything when they lost Ricky Wilson... this is AMAZING!

  • @deweypug I don't think they lost everything but they definitely lost their sound. I had never heard this kind of sound until I heard these songs and I wished that they had stayed the same but that sound began and ended with Ricky and all we can do is cherish what could have been and honor Rickys legacy and memory. I still love the b52s though and I commend them for soldiering on (especially Cindy) and never replacing him.

  • Genius! Brilliant! Pre - 80's New Wave with its alternative/punk groove... Classic! Best times to be young and alive! "Doesn't that make you fell a whole lot better now?" SHAKE! BAKE! SHAKE! Dance this mess around....
