  • I have more and better speakers but dude ur tv is 36 inches bigger then mine and I have a popcorn machine too but mine is a tv not a projecter but that's fucking sick bro nice job pro

  • I love ur lighting setup... How did u do the lighting, what did u use, and are you controlling it with the remote or what? Thanks... Great room

  • Awesome Home Theatre !!

  • whats the size of the room?

  • @cachorrosnumero1 The Theater Room is 12' widex24' long. Ceiling is 8' high

  • is this bill gates house

  • @NoahandJustin This is not even Bill Gates bathroom :-)

  • Hi Ervinarts, great setup & great video,my room is very similar to yours and also took 3 yrs to complete.I went with a motorized screen which drops down in front of a 1080p 42in tv.Its much more satisfying to watch a movie and look around the room and say to yourself "I made this"..one highly impressive home theatre, congrats

  • @deniro800 Thank you so much. I am glad you can relate. My wife and I still hold hands and say we did it ourselves. Also I love the fact that my neighbors had theirs professionally done for 3 times the cost and much less the quality. Yea, it took them just 1 month to complete but we got all that we wanted, the way we wanted and if we wanted to change anything in the future we know exactly how to do it.

  • He sounds like Microsoft Sam! kkkk

  • @francoviski2 Who Dat?

  • Very impressive, thank you for sharing!

  • @Oakkiller77 Thank you for the compliment.

  • Nice, congrats...

  • @fsanchezmd Thank you so much.

  • Nice;

  • @peterjoy931 Thank you.

  • Rich people

  • @eletricdragonrulez Naw, it took 3 years of saving, planning and doing everything ourselves. We saved more $25,000 just by doing it ourselves. And we spread the cost of $15,000 over 3 years. That was $5,000 per year. Smart!!!

  • @ervinarts 15k is wha my dream pair of speakers cost bowers and wilkins 802 d

  • @MrMobsta55 WOW. Speakers that cost more than my entire home theater and the finished basement.

  • @MrMobsta55 whel considering i have a 1500 dollar amp and a 1250 dollar pre amp and 3k cables adn 3k in interconects and a 1700 cdplayer and 3k speakers im doing ok

  • And what about the walls... its a kind of foam or something ? great vid by the way !

  • @JanooProductions Nope, just regular 2x4 framing with insulation topped off with 1/2" drywall. All painted with some kinda flat paint. Can't speak much about the paint job, all that's my wife's doing. Thank you for the compliment.

  • awesome!!! congrats!!

  • @leandrowfx Thank u. Glad you like it. We love it as well.

  • Cool for 10k, nicely done!

  • @FreeBlago1 Thank you.

  • is that remote worth getting?? im upto 6 remotes now and the mrs cant work my system anymore lol

  • @adyscarborough The Logitech Harmony 1100 controls up to 6 different devices. Programming can be a bit of a pain but Logitech has great support technicians. My remote controls multi functions with just 1 touch on the screen. For example, on the main screen you have one of the programmed buttons that say TV. Just touch that button and it turns on my projector, receiver and Satellite box then the screen changes showing all the main controls for the Satellite. I love it.

  • was just wondering how big your room was ? very nice set up.

  • @2s1cari Thank you. The room is 12' wide and 24' long. Ceiling height is 8' in the rear and 7'5" on the front.

  • Is it easy to change the display on your marquee for each movie you show?

  • @hcs4life21 Yes, very easy. They just slide in and slide out. The hardest thing is spelling the titles and getting everything to fit. Some words may have to be abbreviated.

  • ya well I paid a lot for mine. Dropped it a foot onto my ankle and the screen got screwed up. Only 90 day coverage from Logitech. Worst electronic I've ever bought crashes constantly too and volume sticks and blasts my system to 0!

  • @juslom2002 Sorry to hear that.

  • dont drop that logitech even a foot itll break, crap remote

  • @juslom2002 Don't jinks me. I have dropped it many times. It still runs like a champ.

  • This is awesome. I have a small room 14 x14 can I convewrt that into a home theater ? I want a small cozy theater.

  • @pariapsara Thank you. Of course you can. The key is the system and a sofa.

  • This is awesome.

  • Freaking Awesome!!

  • @EjectSpeed Thank you. Glad you like it.

  • Now that is sweet. I have a similar 106" screen, but in a much smaller room so I can't do tiered theater seating like you did.

  • @cme4brain11 Thank you. Do you have video of your place. Would love to see it.

  • Have you tried using a "Feature Presentation" screen (That is seen on Disney tapes/Demo tapes) on your home theater?

  • @rod1014 I have not. will give it a shot.

  • @ervinarts Well, I can make one for you if you want.

  • @rod1014 Thanks but no thanks.

  • SO NICE NICE NICE XD

  • @Kampelapaa Thanks.

  • @111Rooker My receiver has a speaker calibration system. I place the speakers where I want and the calibration systems sends signals to each speaker then adjust the volume for the best sound dispersion. The separation is fantastic. You almost duck as the helicopters fly across the screen.

  • Nice theater room you have there dude! I have a few questions though...My first questions is, between your remote and lighting, what controls everything? Are you using a "Control 4" type of system? And they other question I have is...are you in Canada? What would it take for you to come here and help me with mine? lol

  • @333gpp333 Thank you. Logitech 1100 Harmony Remote controls everything, from lighting to all of the components. $325. It is highly programable. I would love to help out any way I can, Except move to Canada...too cold. LOL

  • @ervinarts Thanks for such a quick response. I have about 100 questions for you, lol. How do you wire your lights to work with you remote? AND...inside your light cove, it looks like you have LED rope lights. Is that true?

  • @333gpp333 I ran 2#16 wire to the ceiling lights another 2#16 wire to the sconces and finally wire to the rope lighting around the platform and above the moulding on the ceiling. The ropes are LED. All three wires go to one 3 switch outlet box. The 3 switches are Lutron IR switches. The Logitech 1100 Remote controls all 3 sets of lights. 2 problems with set-up. The lights are too close together and when i dim they all dim or birghten and I have to point the remote directly at the switches.

  • get the new epson 5010e 48ohz

  • @70short I like that. I will be upgrading in about 3 years.

  • how did you build the elevated back part, where the chairs are?

hows the picture on the projector?

  • @TheNumber2Pencil546 I started with a six inch platform built with 2x6 pressure treated lumber. built it like you would a wall. Just layed it down and screwed it to the concrete floor. That was not high enough so I added another frame on top of that using 2x10s. The current projector (Epson Powerlite Pro Cinema 7500 UB) works well for most applications. although at 60Hz the fast moving objects in sports (football, baseball etc) tend to pixelize a bit. I will upgrade to 120Hz or 240 Hz later.

  • @ervinarts awesome, thanks for the reply! great set up

  • Holy crap, I jelly :l

  • @MoustachesAreEpic Thank you...I think.

  • @ervinarts Now I want to bother my dad to turn the garage into a home theater...

  • Bravo man. This setup is awesometacular

  • Jelous.

  • Cool thx for reply

  • @GamerMatt97 Thank you.

  • @ervinarts teach me :O

how much would all the tv system cost minus the chairs?

also do you have a screen or just projector?

one thing ive been looking for all my life is a home theatre have to say it would be better than the birth of my first child!

  • @jammfammily

    Onkyo Home Theater HTR-9100THX $780

    Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S500$199

Epson Powerlite Pro Cinema 7500 UB $3,309

106" Elite Fixed Frame Screen $300

    Peerless Mount $110

    Logitech 1100 Harmony Remote

    Wall Speakers Mts $99

Although we love this system the birth of my first child blows this home theater out of the water :-)

  • Dude nice job u must be proud of yourself and imagine the countless memories u will have in this theater with your family.

  • @GamerMatt97 It was a family affair. I did the initial design. My wife and I did the framing. My middle son and I did the drywall. My wife, sons and daughter did all the painting. You enjoy it so much more when you do it yourself. This Fridays movie Transformers 3.

  • can you please say the all investment in money? You can send a PM if you like

  • @eukicos Onkyo Home Theater HTR-9100THX $780 Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S500$199 Sony DVD Player DVP-C6500 $100 Direct TV Satelite Receiver $59 Epson Powerlite Pro Cinema 7500 UB $3,309 106" Elite Fixed Frame Screen $300 Peerless Mount $110 Logitech 1100 Harmony Remote $386 Empire Carpet $2,400 Bathroom Sink $340 Bathroom Toilet $99 Marquee $321 Berkline Chairs 1200 Series $1,525 Wall Speakers Mts $99 Electrical $500 Framing $200 Drywall $300 TOTAL COST $10,968 My family’s' labor...Priceless!

  • @ervinarts congratulations, its fantastic :D

  • Great job! Inspirational!

  • @bigweeble Thank you.

  • That is sick.

  • Go Ravens

  • @coolicup Yea baby. WHAT WHAT!!! Lookin for Steelers to smile at. Wearing my Ray Lewis Jersey all day yesterday and today.

  • Dude... You are Epic

  • @LcWrigh Thank you much. Glad you like it.

  • Love my home theater by HomeTheaterDesign and installations 8888052877 they Guarantee lowest installed price

  • I'm looking into doing this next year. But can't figure out which light fixture and or junction boxes that can be controlled by 1100. Any suggestions?

  • @j5pointoh Pretty much any IR switch will work with the Harmony 1100. I used the lutron IR switches. Word of caution. You will need to place the Switches in different areas. If they are placed together the 1100 will treat them as 1 switch, that is turn them all on and off at the same time, dim them all at the same time, brighten them at the same time.

  • 1 of the best Home Theater ilove it and good video

  • Very good cinema!!!

  • @nintendosims1994 Thanks.

  • go cowboys

  • @TheChrist1st If you are not from DALLAS...Why?

  • i love it cool

  • @adrian34138 Thank you.

  • Mr ervin i am a student,,,,i like these kind of home theater,,,you home threater is very awsome,,,,but i think it is very expensive,,,,,will you please suggest me that how much it will cost to make a smaaalll home theater only for two having not high class screens but just big screen and nice sound etc,,, i mean what whould i use to watch movie in different style not boorring tv lounge style....hahaha.. as i have mentioned that i am student so please suggest me a low cost HT type...thankssss

  • @pprinceton11 Thanks. Suggestion to you is get an all in one home theater system (Onkyo has the best for the price) check Newegg.com. Also rear projection tv can be really large but less expensive than flat screens (Mitsubishi - WD-73738 - 73" rear projection TV - 1080p). If your budget doesn't allow for that big a screen, then anything more than a 40 inch would be great. Keep in mind the real experience in home theater is the sound and picture quality not the seats. So cuddle up and enjoy.

  • @ervinarts thank you very much..what you have said is very helpful for me, and i will follow what you have said, thanks again .....have a nice day,,

  • very coooooool.......keep it up Mr ervin....

  • @pprinceton11 Thank you so much.

  • how come on the base (raised flooring) with the 2 seats, the floor is uncompleted and can still see ply wood?

  • Very nice setup you have there.

  • @pinkybinh Thank you.

  • too much bass

  • @fifalacious Are you serious. The sound was so distorted from my small digital camera. I want more base. I want ground shaking base.

  • @ervinarts i guess it's personal flavour. I just don't like drowning out the crisp sounds and the beautiful soundtracks with too much base. But yeah, sometimes the deep base is awesome.

  • @ervinarts It's bass, bass, bass, bass, bass damnit

  • Nice job! U & ur wife should be proud

  • @mosset4 Thank you so much. We do like the results.

  • Mr. Ervin,

You and your wife did an outstanding job on your home theater. I am in the process of building my home theater and I am constantly seeking ideas. Is there anything that you would have done differently?

  • @tlfrazier21 First thank you. And secondly, yes I would have added much more vibration absorbing and noise dampening material to my ceiling. Low frequency noises penetrate to the family room above. I would have added star lighting to the ceiling, used movie style carpeting (got carpet cheap). Moved the projector to the back of the room and gotten a smaller screen 92" instead of 106"(got a deal for Projector, Screen and Ceiling mount). Other than that we are extremely happy with the results.

  • Wowwww that looks awesome! But I'd rather more seats closer together :) but very nice

  • @meBmolly Thank you so much. Not many options for a room as narrow as 12'.

  • yeah its nice but i wouldnt spend all that money just to watch a movie

it is very over the top for a home setup maybe relivin a hollywood fantasy

of being in the movies yourself.

anyway its nice good luck with it enjoy .

  • @Dave30867 Not just watch a movie, but never go to a movie theater again and sit next to a loud, obnoxious, cell phone using, popcorn throwing, movie commenting jerk. My floors are never sticky. I know who's butts have been in the chairs. Don't have to spend $15 for tickets and $20 for food per person. I have a family of 5. And what movie theater can you go to where you can eat dinner while watching the movie. Plus there's football....YEA BABY. Worth every penny and every busted knuckle. Thanks.

  • i would like to congradulate you holy crap i wanna grow up to have a room like that one day

  • where did you get the sign?

  • @Daniel4Celtics Check the website Hollywoodmarques,com

  • that is pure art

  • @Daniel4Celtics WOW, great compliment. Thank you.

  • nice stuff man... but i like ur raven better lol... my cousin plays 4 them his name is haloti ngata #92... we go to alot of his game... but we are from california so...go raven...

  • @bobmarleys951 Get the F--- outta here. I would give anything to go to a live game. I spent every dime i had on my family and home projects and can not afford tickets to the games. If you have any tickets to spare or on the cheap.....please help MMMMMEEEEEEEE. I live and die RAVENS. Oh yea, thank you for the compliment.

  • Amazing!

  • nice ht ;)

i think for a better atmosphere you should have put a darker carpet into that room ( just my opinion)

  • @dabozzcrg I agree. We just got a great deal on the carpet. I would have loved a movie carpet.

  • Dang bro what do you do for a living if I may ask?? You have some awesome stuff. More videos!

  • @Mozo901 I am a goverment employee for Dept of Homeland Security

  • That is very nice!

  • @xSwizzify Thank you.

  • Do you have the opportunity to make a video with the pictures?. I would really like to see it from start to finish. It must have been something of a project: D

(Besides, I'm sorry if there are spelling / typing errors:) )

  • @martinbankjorgensen Just posted the pics. Ervin Family Home Theater pics. Check it out and let me know what you think.

  • I find it really hard to masturbate to this video.

  • @shoutatthesky If you use this video to even try to Masturbate, you really have problems...

  • I am your biggest fan! (certainly from Denmark :P) i have watcht your home cinema videos 1 billion times :D i wish mine was just half as good as your ;)

Du you have any videos/ photos where you can see it under construction?

    Bedst regards

  • @martinbankjorgensen Thanks, I have lots of photos.

  • Nice. What is the resolution of the projector?

  • @AmdusiasONE

    1080P

    1600 lumens color

    Up to 75,000:1 contrast ratio

    120 Hz

  • i want one

  • @fieromaster219 Glad you like it.

  • So how much did you spent for the screen and projector?

  • @DJWaYOfficialChannel I got it as a package deal from projectionguys Epson Powerlite Pro Cinema 7500 UB Projector $3,309.00. Elite ezFrame 106" Diagonal with CineWhite Material Fixed Frame Screen $300 and the Peerless Ceiling Mount $110. Total Cost $3,719.

  • This is cool, I cant wait to design my own.

  • @carmad69 Thank you. Can't wait to see your design.

  • I spent $180,000 on mine yeah it's expensive as hell!!!

  • @MirandaCosgrove1111 WOW. Do you have a video? I would love to see what your home theater looks like.

  • What's the name of the website were you bought the screen.?

  • @TheTorrie89 The name of the website was projectionguys, com. Sorry to say they are no longer in business.

  • hey man what is the total cost of this awsome theatre

  • @fightnight3421 thank you. Not including my family labor, $10,460. And that was for everything. We started with an unfinished basement.

  • @fightnight3421 The name of the website was projectionguys. Sorry to say they are no longer in business.

  • AWESOME BRO!

  • I can see that you get a bit of reflectivity on those poster frames. Are they pixels noticeable on this projector like they are on data projectors?

  • @TVperson1 The reflectivity is because of the plastic covering the posters. We may change the frames out with some that a less reflective plastic. The Projector show no visable pixelization even standing close to the screen.

  • Want to adopt me!! :D

  • very nice theater set up that you and your wife did.would like to se the audio side though but happy movie watching.

  • @musicman257 Thank you. We used a small digital camera. Not much on sound quality.

  • Can you please tell me the estimated price of everything thanks

  • @jjamazing1 I can do better than that. Onkyo 7-1Home Theater $780. Blu-Ray $199, DVD Player $100, Epson Projector $3,309, 106" Screen $300, Projector Mount $110, Logitech Remote $386, Full basement Carpeting $2,400, 5 chairs $1,525, Wall speaker mounts $99. Electrical,Drywall, Framing and Insulation $1,200...Total $10,408. Not including the finished bathroom. Labor was free. We did everything except the carpeting. We didn't want to bargain shop for carpet since it was on a concrete floor.

  • @ervinarts Thank you sooo much

  • @ervinarts thank you soo much

  • Where did you get the black bordering around the projection screen and how much did that end up costing you? I like the look of it and was curious cause we are building a home theater in our basement soon.

  • @lukiduki101 That is not a border around the screen, it is the screen. It is a 106" Screen with a 2" Velvet border. The screen is by Elite ezFrame 106" Diagonal (52" x 92") with CineWhite Material Fixed Frame Screen.

  • You sound like Morgan Freeman!!

    Nice home theatre btw!

  • @james5943 LOL...Morgan Freeman laugh :-)

  • Which onkyo did you purchase. I'm going to purchase an onkyo system here soon, found great deals on it. so get back to me.

  • @ruinliesdestruction The model I have is the HTR-9100THX. It was the first THX Certified Home Theater System.

  • @XboxBoy5526 If I were rich it would not have taken me 3 years to do the work. I saved and scrimped. I bargained and I waited for the best prices and I did all the work myself. Rich, I am not resourceful, I am.

  • That's a nice setup.

  • @Aztech355 Thank you very much.

  • lol i keep watching these vids knowing that i'll never be able to afford or have one but home theatres look so awesome!

  • How much does it cost for whole setup ? except popcorn machine..

i am think of it, i have an empty room in my house, and i watch too many movies, so it would be great if i setup like this.. your theater is really great, you don't even have to visit really cinema theater for movies, you can get all here, and can we attach our computer or laptop to watch movies, because i have about 3000 HD 1080p movies in my computer.. Thank you, Hope you reply :)

  • No problems just a dead battery

  • All the time it will ruin the battery life

  • @EGCCX I have done it this way for well over a year and no problems.

  • Keep it sitting off the charger and when it gives you the low battery warning then put it on if it's on the charger s

  • Lol same controller we have for our home theatre don't leave it on the charger l

  • @EGCCX What do you mean don't leave on the charger? It rarely comes off the charger...

  • @ervinarts hes talking about the battery over charging. which ruins it over time, but it depends on the battery type

  • I had a friend that had an onkyo surround system like that it was ok but my low end polks blew it away and mine are low end.

  • @maaudiosubs It's funny that you mention that. I have an old set of Polk Speakers (Monitor 7) and a set of bi-polar speakers with a 10" sub woofer in my family room and the base is so much richer in the family room. Polk has always been my favorite speaker system. The were, at the time out of my budget.
