i agree with the cataplexy comment. i have narcolepsy and i have cataplexy attacks and to me it seems more that than falling asleep. cataplexy is often triggered by emotions and a dog does get emotional over food. mine is usually laughter or anger. my nephew has even used the opportunity to make me stick my finger in my nose. I know what hes doing but cant stop him till the attack ends. poor puppy
that's how Dian was rescued. Dian was a stray dog. Witnessing her collapsing on the road, my friend as a passerby decide to take her to the vet and finally found her a home.
@v4dy45 that's one aspect of the disease, it's called cataplexy, loss of muscle control. He's awake but can't move. Falling asleep, not being able to keep awake is another aspect.

Notice her legs how they are in the sitting positin for a dog...that means that sleep paralysis is taking play and then it comes narcolepsy
