Glad you asked, one thing I'm working at is understanding what would be needed to do SNES tracks but theres not much support or resources for it compared to this.
What I respect about music for the NES/C64 is the challenge of creating a big sounding track using only 3 melody lines. Like a giant puzzle with tiny pieces, when it's done right I just find it to be great.
Theres a little bit of irony too, rather than being given the story/music in a game, you can be the creator.
Hey I used to be a tracker musician in the 90's. I used to work with samples in Fasttracker ][ and Sk@le tracker. I'm gonna go check out FamiTracker now.

Wtf is up with 8 bit boiling down sounds to its essence that 16 bit et al. just can't do? Is it the simplicity or the variety?
