If you put this in a sort of case, take the usb module and hard drive out of an external hard drive and hide it underneath the model, then use the light sensor to control on and off whenever the read/write light comes on, and you have made it functional in a way.
OMG...1 PB is 1000 TB which is also 1,000,000 GB which is also 1,000,000,000 MB which is also 1,000,000,000,000 KB which is also 1,000,000,000,000,000 Bytes!!!
its acting like a coumuter hardrive, only those usulay have more disks, and the head is smaller. can be useful to explain how a hhd (HadrDiskDrive, or someting like that) works
@bartoszbudecki1 11001100 There's nothing "in" 8 bits. A bit is the smallest unit of information. True, false, one, zero, on, off.
It's not that useful to toggle bits, so instead, we work with their larger cousin, the byte.

Umm what is it meant to do???? It's doing nothing.

@josipov Oh i forgot about that. I keep forgeting its 1024 for the amount not 1000. Thank you for pointing that out.

Your velcome.
and sorry for "tard" :)
josipov 1 year ago
@Stickguy7 Unfortunately, HDD manufactures think that it's 1000 for each conversion though, so they don't have their actual advertized capacity.

@josipov 1 PiB = 1024 TiB = 1048576 GiB = 1073741824 MiB = 1099511627776 KiB = 1125899906842624 Bytes.
You are both right in a way...

not even one byte of memory
deaftodd 2 years ago 46
@deaftodd it is, 6 black ones and 6 white, means 12bit, its about 1.5byte..

@deaftodd but already 6 bits
web1bastler 11 months ago
@deaftodd wouldn't that work out as 6 bytes? its got six black lines which is six on/offs and 6 1/0's
forgive me if my view on bytes is incorrect.
rossyallen2 10 months ago
@rossyallen2 you're thinking of bits. there are 8 bits in a byte.
matzo33333 10 months ago
@deaftodd
It *can* be one byte, it just depends on what computer.
Usually a byte is 8-bits.
SilverLugia32 5 months ago
Can it work like a real hard drive?
DoomTay 2 years ago
Yeah. But that wouldn't be even one byte of memory as deaftodd says above your comment.
