  • Could you you get that ministry sound if played through a marshall 1969 and 1960 cab

  • my metal muff goes through a marshall avt 50h half stack and i must say it sounds freekin awesome!!!!!

  • @tofujr

    you're right...

a les paul with fender amp is rock equipment

  • what the fuck? He plays Metal with a P-90 Les Paul?

  • @WashbearAlert First of all, that is a mini humbucker les paul deluxe. Second, If p-90s arent metal then you had better throw out your Sabbath records right now because Tony Iommi uses P-90s all the time... Not to mention Leslie West, Pepper Keenan, Eddie Clarke, and Ron Asheton...

  • @WashbearAlert Those are Gibson's mini humbuckers....not P-90s.

  • the sound is so thin

  • is this pedal noisy? how well does it work with Marshall amps?

  • @drking9313 well it works perfectly with my marshall but it took me some time to find how it really gives a good sound

  • @drking9313 I have one. It becomes noisy only when you push your gain over 12 o'clock, but just a little...no hiss before that. And believe me, this thing at 9 o`clock gives you a lot of distortion.

  • @ozzvaldito agreed mate, i have my gain at 9 and it's not too much and not too little. everything else is just nasty sounding XD

  • Did you all know that the first Marshall amp was just a hot rodded Fender Bassman? So to everyone who keeps complaining that you can't play metal through a Fender amp, well guess what? Everyone using a Marshall pretty much is.

  • WTF? that sound like crap, like playing through mobile. MetalMuff is defo best dist pedal out there... why to give such a bad advert for such a great tool ?

  • I used this pedal on my cover of the MetallicA One solo, check it out

  • Metal Muff kicked ass. I tried the pedal in a local guitar store. I got deep Pavement tones all the way to ripping leads. Its like the bad ass cousin of the MUFF ;D

  • I had the MM with Top boost. I played it in church once. Ummmm... let's say.. ummmmm...opps! :">.

This pedal is far better than that stupid Digitech Death Metal pedal. It's really strong through a tube amp and the sustains are real good.

That Line 6 stuff isn't bad at all until you use it.

  • Bees in a Can

  • Idk why someone would use a Les Paul with mini humbuckers into a Fender 2*12. It's just nasely. This pedal with proper pickups and a good Tube amp is legit.

  • This guy really gets into it

  • Meh...sounds like a better version of the MT-2.

Although a Keeley Zone would probably blow this away.

  • Metal out of a Fender 2x12 likely with an open back. Not gonna happen.

  • i got this pedal today...i can even play RAMMSTEIN

  • this pedal sounds good with solid state amps?

  • depends on the amp, if its a decent amp with decent cleans it will sound good but if its a line 6 spider 3 or starter pack amp then no

  • correction: A line 6 Spider3 is not an amp, a crime perhaps but not an amp, come on ;-)

  • @caskettheclown i have a line 6 spider jam amp.

if i bought this, would it sound quite bad, even if i turn all distortion settings on amp to zero?

    Equipment : -

    Line 6 Spider Jam

    Gibson SG Special Worn Cherry

  • @DevilGene66 It will sound alright, but you should get a tube amp to match the guitar you have... a Peavey Valveking 112 or 212 is a good start. Just swap out the speaker with better ones and you're good to go, actually. They start at $400 bucks, I got one for $300 on craigslist. Depends on your luck.

  • This one! I promise you it is an amazing pedal.

  • Good pedal, great guitar. Put it all together, crap. Perhaps not the best reviewer and not the ideal guitar to test this with. It IS METAL muff, not rock muff or something.

  • Yeah, his tone's really crap in this video, the reviewers playing style and equipment doesn't really show it in it's 'fully glory'. Check out the Chareeto's review of it to see it's true potential ; )

  • @tofujr However, i was looking for a review like this - In a very alternative punky sort of "a day to remember" sounding band - metal muff + holy stain :)

  • With a metal guitar ie..alder body n emg's this thing works very well..but with seymours/dimarzios in a mahogany body it makes more of a difference. Very versatile.

  • Funny you should mention seymours, I dropped a pair of blackouts in my JS30 Warrior.....OMG, if you want the best metal tone ever, Blackouts are for you! And yes I said JS30, Jackson's entry level guitar sounds effing AMAZING with these.

  • @line6peavey any comments on the S.D invader humbuckers?

  • @KapaKastle They rock.

  • TMBG!!!

  • Nice vid, but wouldn't it make more sense to test it on something with pups more suited to metal, and maybe not on an amp which is renowned for its cleans?

  • Les Paul's can play anything.

  • esp or jacksonwill do much better though but les pauls are good for all around

  • Bingo. I agree. I would say, test it on an Ibby or Fender Flathead etc (something with EMG's or more metal suited pups like you said) with maybe a 5150 or rivera knucklehead? what would you say?

  • wouldn't it make sense to have a metal guitarist display a metal pedal? I wanna hear metal riffs with this!

  • love it

  • the pedal looks nice, but the pickups of his Gibson doesn't seem to be the most appropriate sound to test a pedal that's suppose to break your ears

  • i used one of these to record and its great, especialy with the top boost

  • I actually really like the first tone. All of the other tnes that this guy dials suck, he has no idea how to use it, but the first tone was really nice and, i'm not going to say subtle, but just a cool little growl.

  • what are you wearing on your left thumb?? oO

  • cloth neck slide against the wood

  • I have this distortion pedal. It's excellent! Fantastic sound! I can get lot of different sounds on this pedal :).

This demo isn't show all potential of Metal Muff ;).

  • lucky bastard! this is my new favourite distortion and im hopefully gonna have one soon

  • So gonna get

  • This vid does not do this pedal justice. Sounds terrible. I own this pedal... amazing distortion. My favorite distortion pedal by far. And Ive owned them all. TONS of mids. You can also scoop the mids to get a bad ass rip your face off tone. The top boost is pointless IMO... unusable. If you play one... you'll know what I mean.

  • Ah, good. I've seen lots of reviews saying how brilliant it is but all the videos sound like shit!

I'll be getting one this week I think... After testing of course.

  • it doesnt do it justice because he uses a fender amp...which doesnt cradle distortion very well

  • crate amps push out alot with my metal zone so it probably will with this pedal to

  • HOw much is that pedal i need 2 get that!

  • £60

  • 90 bucks lol

  • Cool sounding pedal, and great playing. This is one of those sounds that's not all that great on it's own, but in the mix with bass and a different sounding rhythm guitar, probably works well. I bet this is a pretty useful pedal.
