  • OK, I've heard some original music from "Blind Guardian". I did not understand what they are talking about in their songs! Music is played well though.

  • @fernominal what songs did you hear? They did an entire album about the simarilion, the story behind lord of rings. Also mythological and religious questions are part of it. And modern fantasy writers like Stephen King, where they got their name of. Hope i could help!

  • @TheApokalypt

Thanks for the info! Appearently I look look foolish now cause I am still behind, and have not even seen the "Lord of the rings" movie yet! (and probably wont) It's kind of like the "Harry Potter" series of movies, (which in fact I have seen a number of those movies, from the first) but you have to see them in the series intended, or else you are lost! for another example: The Bible, you have to read it,(all) in order to make an analogy about it, within your life!

  • I feel that the first verion of a song (in my case Judas Priest) is always going to be the best version, but I have got to say that Blind Guardian does this song excellent! the singer has a awsome voice, and the lead guitars sound as if Glen Tipton and K K Downing are playing this song live! Drums and Bass guitar sound good too! Great choice of a song!! I'm going to look into this band some more! I'd like to hear some originals from this band!

  • @fernominal Judas Priest will have the best version of this song regardless, but Blind Guardian comes damn close with this cover. Hansi Kursch, like Rob halford, has a extremely unique voice characteristic. Marcus Siepen and Andre Olbrich are very brilliant guitarists. as for Thomen Stauch (no longer in the band) is another great person for this song. Idk when this was recorded, so I cant tell you if it was Hansi or Oliver Holzworth playing bass. either way, they did good.

  • I cried when i listen for the first time

  • Judas Priest is far more better...

  • This is just great! <3

  • i love judas preist, and i love blind guardian, then i find this. i am having a good day right now.

  • You do Judas Priest proud. If Judas Priest version is the alive version then this is the after life version.

  • this version is better than the original for one obvious reason - the old fart fag isn't singing.

  • @blackbeardbastard WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP!

  • ni el solo se le acerca a la de judas

  • I prefer the original because Rob's voice is more 'slicing' into the brain. Hope you know what I mean. But this one is very close to it!

  • This album "Tribute to Judas Priest" (2 cds) is a masterpiece. There are versions of judas' songs with a lot of creativity and power.

  • I prefer this version. Hansi is simply the best singer of all the time ( for me ). His voice sounds like Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio, Freddie Mercury, James Hetfield ( the early years ) with a special touch of him. God bless Kürsch.

  • SORRY BUT WITH ALL THE RESPECT I HAVE FOR JUDAS THIS VERSION IS BETTER

Ponerse a comparar y ofender no va a cambiar nada!! GET OVER IT

  • @RandallRojasAndres Oie men si quieres que te entiendan porque no lo pones en inglés??

  • @IsaacVicJim I really hate stupid people who compare which version is better. It is not about that, a cover is a tribute, a way of respect to a song or a band and that is good enough. Both of them are really good. Thats it. Get over it, both bands have made a great carrear, their own way. Start comparing and ofending wont change a thing... GET OVER IT

  • sugoi

  • I like this song, especially the guitar is great

  • I love the original. It's performed beautifully by the voice of metal, but I honestly think Blind Guardian's version is more sorrowful and depressing. Hansi breaks up the high notes with more, I don't know, roughness? I will admit, I'm partial to BG, being my favorite metal band, but Halford is untouchable.

  • Man, this singer has an incredible voice. Rob Halford would be proud!

  • @Haaraskaba Agree

  • @Haaraskaba Yes he would

  • @Haaraskaba Hansi Kürsch has a really great voice but I find it to sweet of the calm parts and to aggressive on the heavy parts.

    Great cover though

  • Ok, Blind Guardian is the only group that could make such a wonderfull cover but it cannot even reach the original. For one reason only: Because it's Judas Priest's spirit and noone else can play a song like them. The same goes for Blind Guardian.

Would you imagine how would Bard's Song be from a Judas Priest cover???

  • @FireGrism no because Judas Priest doesnt make cover of other metal bands because all inferior to them except for Sabbath

  • bass is great

  • Clearly some of the people here have just come to bitch about the cover and have hardly any experience of Blind Guardian whatsoever, I mean seriously, Priest are my favourite band, but i can acknowledge that Hansi is a fantastic vocalist, because i love Blind Guardian aswell.

  • @MrMetallicaforlife Sound like al gore on vocals

  • agent steel's cover it's way better

  • @ggriffinn1 True lol i do love Judas Priest :x

  • to all you bitches out there.

when you hit a high note with too much residence only shows your lack of singing experience, when i sing it comes out like this when i hit the notes wrong.

trust me rob makes it sound easy, this guy sounds like shit,

hes low notes are sooooo weak.

id rather hear ripper do this song.

or better yet how about jeff scott soto or freaking motorhead

  • @timothydfrank1991 Cool story, bro.

  • Amazing closing solo...

  • Seriously, why is it some of my favourite bands of all time like to cover my actual favourite band of all time?

  • @onett128 Because they're two amazing bands, and this is an amazing song.

    Simple.

  • I still miss hearing Glenn playing this song .. it's like it reminds me we all eventually get old

  • cool cover, it sounds amazing, not too amazing like judas but souds very great

  • nice cover! cheers dudes!!!

  • Sorry, but I love the rawness of the original!!

  • The guitar player totally nailed the solo.

  • @demonizer123

    Of course! lol

  • Comment removed

  • Очень хорошая копия ,но копия не может быть лучше оригинала JUDAS PRIEST THE BEST FOREVER

  • Excellent cover! Well done guys. Having played the song myself before audiences I know what it takes to get it right and you guys do this song justice. Great job on vocals and guitars. Hell even the drums sound great! JP would be proud.

  • enough for the Blind Guardian that they made 2 of the best covers ever . this and Dio's Dont Talk To Strangers ... even iron maiden failed to cover The Ripper of judas , and Beyond the realms of death isn't any easy , not saying that Iron Maiden ain't great , but my point is , each band got a different style that makes it special among the others , the guardians did it well , its a good cover .

  • As said before, this cover is just great. I don't get why people spit at Hansi here ; I guess it must be some kind of basic fanboy reaction when they hear a cover of their favorite band, no matter how good it may be they just think it sucks 'cause it's not the original.

  • szeretlek Csacsi

  • How can anyone think this..."singer" is better than Halford? He does a mix of...what seems to be poking fun at Rob's sexuality in the verses, and death metal screaming. This isn't a Bodom song, this is Judas Priest, 1970s, not death metal.

  • @enix165 Wtf are you talking about? This is not the same as death growling. This actually takes effort to sing. You don't know shit about singing.

  • @enix165 100% AGREE!!!!

  • why's it a fucking contest?

hansi and rob are both great

  • I can't believe how good this song is. I prefer it over the original tbh...

  • hansi's voice is much "richier" than halford's! sorry but hansi is more talented as a vocalist in my opinion. thumb me down or up for that but its kinda the truth

  • @bloodyz16x24 Keep it for youself. Halford is a fucking beast

  • @DaddoFatto94 He is and they both are very talented! But i prefer hansi's voice! i think its more melodic! (yeah i ve just my opinions a bit since the last time :P p.s sorry for my bad english)

  • What does it for me about this version is that Hansi does something besides the original throw-away non-melody in the chorus. Also, he sounds amazing, he's got a lot more body in his voice.

  • well to be honest hansi's voice is much better than halford's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kaliopas1 i agree

  • well i prefer this version much more. thumb me down

  • Great Cover of a Great Band from a Great Band. Perfect.

  • this guys voice is Beyond the Realms ofGay which is ironic

  • @deepsussex Too funny!

  • cool

  • good cover but priest is far better

Rob halford pwns al gore vocalist

  • @cliffthelightning Obviously the priest are the gods, but dude, Hansi Kursch is an AMAZING vocalist as well. He is no halford, but hes incredible all the same.

  • This is by far the best cover version of this Judas Priest classic ever recorded.

  • hansi's voice sounds so holy lol. this is a GREAT cover!

  • Blind Guardian makes this cover in their style and I love it! Blind Guardian is awesome band, I like their music and Hansi got a great voice

  • I like Hansi ♥

  • good , good !

  • great version....better than JP!!!

  • Defenetly one of best covers there is. Doesn't beat the original but still hail to Blind Guardian, they got really good sound and Hansi is damn good singer in his way!

  • Excellent cover of this Judas Priest classic!!!!

  • ...Love Priest Love Your Version. Thank you ......

  • Beats the original version by far.

  • @shuran666 You wish...

  • @shuran666 Your an Idiot,

  • @harleygraffix And you're acting like a true JP fan (yes, it has pejorative meaning).

  • this guys sounds like al gore from south park.... ( not in the chorus)

    But ace cover though

  • Why does he sound like Big Gay Al when he's not screaming. I mean Rob Halford is gay and he sounds much harder then this guy. Anyone who says this version can even come close to the original needs to get his head examined ASAP!

  • Sounds nothing like big gay al. You are just mad because his voice has more balls.

  • @undericesinger i said al gore...

  • @barbarianbro first off Hansi sounds nothing like Big Gay Al, secondly being gay or not has nothing to do with your singing voice, and thirdly its because when Hansi sings cleanly he has a lisp. which media always portrays gay men as being feminine and having really bad lisps which is probably why you think he sounds like Big Gay Al.

  • @barbarianbro

you don't like?ok.hey,do you know how hansi kürsch can sing?he pitches his voice up to unbelivable tones and it doesn't sound gay or wrong or whatever and he can scream very very powerfull (much powerfuller than in this cover) and he can growl,he can sing slow and melodic with a breathtaking voice,he can sing very very quick with a very clear voice and in my opinion there are not much singers who can come close to him.what do you think?

  • Mike Patton, Matt Barlow, and I are all versatile.

  • @BlindMetaler so damn true

  • @BlindMetaler there`s only one METAL GOD!!!, that´s what I think, even is a good cover, with a good voice... so don´t mix his sexualitty, this is so child!

  • When he started singing... I thought "this is terrible". But when he got going in the loud bit, WHOOOAAHHH!!! Awesome!!!

  • @timananda Absolutely agreed.

  • One of the best Judas Priest covers I've heard.

Best one probably goes to Primal Fear. Their cover of Metal Gods is awesome.

  • @Azurian thats cuz Ralf Scheepers should have gotten the gig when Halford left the band. Scheepers is the right choice when it comes to Priest stuff, way better than Ripper Owens IMO. Why the guys in JP never recognized Scheepers and his raw vocal talent for doing their stuff has always baffled me. Look for Tyran' Pace stuff, which is Scheepers band before he joined Gamma Ray, listen to the song "Shockwaves" from the cd Long Live Metal, you would swear its Priest's Hell Bent for Leather.

  • ripper lol

  • I naturally prefer Blind Guardian to Judas Priest. I shouldn't really be comparing these two bands, but I wanted to say that I have a preference to this version. Criticize me all you want. The original is an amazing song.

  • hansi, halford, and the ripper are the best metal vocalists...HANDS DOWN

  • forgot bruce dickinson?

  • @666Kaca yeahh he´s a great singer too!!!

  • um hello? bruce dickinson, geoff tate? ripper is shit bro, shit

  • Both those singers are better ballad singers than the ripper. I would disagree with him being shit because He can scream better than both of them and I think they have had more off nights than him. Live After Death is when Bruce had something with his voice. He actually sounds better now. I don't see guys that are shit performing in 4 projects. The opinion that you just gave me is shit.

  • I love Judas Priest's version, but I've definitely gotta check out more of this band! Awesome!

  • yes! haha

  • I like blind guardian, but they haven't had the balls to experiment musically as much. Though I think for that reason blind guardian have a unique sound that cannot be duplicated.

  • not bad...of course nothing beats the original but that goes without say..

  • Not bad. No one beats Halford on vocals, though. This is one of my all time favorite songs, and Priest still own it. The only exception is Halford's version on Live Insurrection.

  • yeah so is anything with ripper but inserrection wasnt priest so its an exception it was halfords solo

  • Halford's voice has a softer tone than ripper and Hansi. Halford is almost better at singing the rockier Judas Priest stuff. His voice is more suited for that.

  • Holy crap. Hansi owns this tune when the chorus comes in.

  • Great rendition!!!

  • reading the lyrics to the right its kinda sad seeing how far away the priest has gone from intelligent lyrics. if only they would write stuff like this more.

  • this is awesome :)))))

  • priest original is better, but this was a great attempt

wish my youtube piano videos were as cool as this =D

  • this is a great vocal cover, i love the harshness that comes with it, almost like screaming.

  • Yep, it's a great Version, Blind Guardian is one of my favorite Power Metal bands, they are incredible, especially Hansi, epic vocalist!

But Judas Priest is my favorite band in the universe, I think their Version of every song is always better, Priest are The metal Gods!

  • Pretty noce but Judas priest original version is nuch better.

  • Best cover indeed!

  • IS THAT SHAVO?!?

  • from System of a down?

  • @jacobwolf11 yea

    you only seem to notice

  • no its a bald guy whit a tied beard

  • Blind Guardian kick ass, but I still prefer Agent Steel's cover.

Not a bad cover though. Not bad at all!

  • Blind guardian, Agent Steel ... just hear the voice, the feeling, just the feeling

  • gracias pro el aporte, thank you for song

  • best cover i've ever heard

  • F%@$ing awesome cover version !!!

    GREAT...KEEP GOING !!!!!!

  • The only version that can hold up to the original! Hansi is definitely one of the best singers of all time! Can't wait for the new album! I'm sure guardian won't dissapoint!

    \m/ \m/

  • When's that coming out!?

  • Excellence personified. Blind Guardian are a great great band and this is so true to Judas Priest's original. Kudos.

  • great band covering an even greater band. Awesome 10/10

  • Judas priest is, IMO, the greatest metal band ever.

but this cover is just fantastic, and so respectful to The Priests

    Amazing solos too

    10/5

  • As many already written, Great cover by a great band, very true to the original.. especially the first solo...

Still i prefer the original song with Judas priest. But as i said very very good cover..

  • Totally agree, but respect to JP as well for the original idea ;)

    Hail to Blind Guardian Forever!!!!

  • this is the only cover of a judas priest song ive heard that does justice to the original

  • And Death's Painkiller....it's an awsome cover too

  • you said well my friend

  • The heavy part of this song sound nice! Blind guardians in a gadda da vida cover is also great.

    Priest fan for ever \,,/

  • This is one of maybe five covers i have heard in my entire life that is actually better than a great original.

Staying true to it is probably why.

    Hansi <3

  • bg rule!! i'gonna see them next month at the bang your head festival :)

  • Awesome!

  • Whoa, I had no idea BG covered this song. Awesome!

  • Two of the best bands in the world. Priest and Guardian.

  • it was good, the singer had the ability to turn agressive at the chorus, the softer side of his voice in the verse though seems "put on" rob sang it naturally

  • I see what your saying, but I think he did a better job vocally than most other covers I've heard of this song. most cut it musically, but their vocals make me cringe.

  • The lyrics are awesome, Rob Halford and Glenn Tipton are the best songwriters ever!

  • Tru that! but it was written by les binks :P

  • and rob halford. i think les binks wrote all the music, and halford wrote the lyrics and the vocal melody.

  • Does he have a lisp?

  • Yeah it's about suicide. It tells us that suicide is right of any individual . That if world is more than one can bear he has a right to ease his pain. And what is the most important nobody who killed himself cannot be condemded due to fact that he or she has right to do with life what he or she wants.

  • Lisp.

  • Not a bad cover of an incredible Judas Priest classic.

  • Still a BRILLIANT vocalist.

  • A Great cover for a Great song

  • The cover is good, but second solo i dont like it,this is my opinion :)

  • ...Blind Guardian Isn't a cover band... And I actually like his vocals (especially in Demons and Wizards side project)

  • Halford has never sung in falsetto, so you can lay of being stupid.

  • INDEED!!!!!!
