Mickey I can't thank you enough for this lesson... I've had a pedal steel for less than a month, and playing through this song the lightbulb came on finally and I get the inversions. If you can invert the I, you can invert the IV or V the same way. G chords are on 3, 6, 10, D chords on 1, 5, 10, C on 3, 8, 13, all with the same grips.
This was exactly what I needed, brother. Thank you thank you thank you.
My brother plays a steal even played behind some very well known musicians.. has played in nothing but churches. he added things to his steal that you wouldn't think possible...It's so sad now tho,Just breaks our hearts...He has Lue Ghrig and is hanging on by a thread. Had to quit all his music.. he has no more muscles. he also plays guitar Chet atkins style,& 5 other instruments..you never know when it will end. Our family got together & played, we have14musicians.
Hi there from Paris; i love those though most of the time it takes a lot of rewinding. Only thing is: I take it there are a wide amount of setups on those E9 psgs. What is yrs and what does each pedal or kl do?
You need to remember that you are giving instruction to people that are trying to learn. I think your instruction is very fast. There is no doubt that you are a good picker but we are not.
Thanks for all these great video lessons. I just picked up the pedal steel (a week ago) so I am definately a "raw beginner" (age 52). I consider myself an acomplished guitar player, but this is definately a tune which will take me quite some time to master.
Do you really see this as a "raw beginner's" lesson?

You are saying to press the B Pedal for strings 5 and 8. The B pedal does not have an effect on strings 5 and 8.
