You might try looking into Direct Entry midwifery programs. You don't need to be an RN to practice. There are a couple of distance learning programs, where you have to find an apprenticeship in your area, and after apprenticing for 2-3 years, you can take a certification test and become a Certified Professional Midwife.
The thing is, i'm british and have learnt that i an go on to study midwifery after achieving my NVQ level 3 in Adult Care. I am currently a carer in a residential home and am interested in midwifery. Any advice?
is midwifery really a word?

ive always wante to be a midwife but i cant affored the tuition OR leave the state.... :(
