Agreed, people love to jump on the 'Oasis copied' bandwagon nowadays. Most of these shitty bands nowadays plagarise themselves by releasing the same generic crap song after song. Its woth drawing inspiration from other people if it makes your songs the same qualities as oasis's and keeps you from sounding the same.
Can't wait for noel's solo album, wish the others wouldn't write songs i'd prefer that to a noel solo project (maybe keeping an odd liam song in here and there)
Hmm, agreed. The odd Liam song is good. Demo for Songbird was great! And I'm Outta Time is cool. No offence to Gem or Andy but they're songwriting should hit the back burner or b sides for singles only. I miss the days when Noel wrote everything!!!
i think oasis will be the first to admit the mega influence of the beatles on them, so whats the big deal? the beatles made great tunes, so do oasis (and perhaps partly for the beatles influence). don't get why for 14 years the same bullshit statement is repeated? look at pop rock these days: ITS ALL THE SAME SHIT! nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, STP, alice in Chains, Silverchair, bush...all took from each other but seem to never be mentioned in the same light. oasis and seattle 4ever!

i like oasis , but sometimes i think they look like a bunch of beatle wannabes (yes , i DON'T know how to spell it correctly xD)
i mean..
the way they comb their hair , the singer's glases look a lot like john's glasses , and i think that the video of "shock of the lighting" is similar in some things with the yellow submarine =/
absolute nonsense. oasis dont imitate anyone, they only use other things to gain popularity for themselves. i think the whole beatles tribute thing is very very clever
they might have formed a band but they would have a total different sound... their sound is totally beatles.....you cannot deny it cuz if you even asked them personally they would tell you the same...actually the would say their better cuz they got big fucking egos ha
The firsdt single was "The Shock of the Lightning", the second was "I'm Outta Time"...I'm predicting that this gem of a tune by Noel is the third single from the record. Pure brillance.
It wasn't officially because otherwise the band would have said. iTunes (as they normally manage to) cocked it up and put it. They thought they may as well leave it, so they covered it up by saying it was a download only single.
So yeah, they could still bring it out next, and they probably will.
This is, quite possibly, one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in my lifetime. Almost saddening, in fact. I managed to catch it playing in Border's Bookstore one evening, and fell in love immediately; thus, discovering that it was by the talented Oasis. :)
no i dont htink this could be a bond song (dont get me wrong falling dwon is my favourite of the album) but Gas Panic! o song like that would probably be the greatest Bond tune of all time think about it
Its actually recovered nicely in the last few years. Stopped singing to the sky and got a singing coach. Still not 94/95 shape but definitely more musical now.
ive read one or 2 of the stupidest comments here...all music is derivative of previous music..the beatles were heavily derivative of their own influences as were the stones...as for saying that the drum beat is somehow the same as the drumbeat on Tomorrow Never Knows is firstly laughable as its a drumbeat played backwards-probably impossible to recreate naturally and secondly get yourself some ears you tuneless tit-its not remotely like it.
Er The Turning, Shock and a few others like Ain't Got Nothin and Soldier On sound nothing like The Beatles. That ain't fair mate. The album is still better than most new band's albums these days. Give Oasis a break!
If they're not careful, Oasis will soon become a punchline.
All the "groove" based songs they've ever released can all be traced back to "Tomorrow Never Knows" by the Beatles - the same drum loops, the same drone effect, the same aural soundscapes... it's simply embarrasing.
Tomorrow Never Knows is a great song, and we all love what it and all of Revolver has done to rock music.
But honestly, that's the point of influences. People will derive from it, and that is ok. When Paul and Ringo look upon songs that might trace back to them, they'll probably be happy.
Love the band since 94 i was 10 years old , i just think the songs on the album haing got the pulling power the way whats the story, definitely maybe, masterplan, or be here now has, any album since Andy and Gem joined has been dull as fuck this album is just like dont believe the truth , forgetable songs are weak and bland as fuck give me stick all you like but in 10 years time are you honesly gonna remember aint got nothing or the shock of the lightning? cause im one fan who wont.
Go to their myspace site and listen to all tracks from the new album. Simply amazing! Nothing like before, but still the same Burnage Boys. Got to love ´em...
And BTW...
Bag It Up is one of the best tracks of the album with this one.
I hate Noel and Liam Gallagher with a passion, but I can't help but like this song and it makes me feel dirty.
