This is really beautiful ... I absolutely love this type of songs ...
When U2 sounded like that .. it was just amazingly beautiful ... I can't stop listening to it .. That was in the achtung baby era ... ahh the 90s were the best XD
I'm all alone singin this classic, won't somebody join this lonely irish guy...?
All around the world, ya gotta spread the word... tell em what you heard...you know it's gonna be ok!
Take me away, cause i just do'wanna stay, and the lies you made me say are gettin deeper every day... Oasis, great band. but their finished now, Shit!!
if you want to listen to good U2, listen to the unforgettable fire, war, the joshua tree, achtung baby, zooropa, pop, and all that you cant leave behind
proof U2 doesn't have to spend 2 years making a new lp.....no one should need that much time, the beatles would put out 2 lp's a year, as would many other bands!
My favorite side of U2. This stuff. I mean, Radiohead is okay but I think U2 did this kind of thing best. I like this album, I like POP except for a few weak spots, and I like Achtung Baby. Everything before or after is good but doesn't get me like this chapter in U2's history.
This song is vastly underrated. The stuff that U2 is putting out now is not even close to this. It actually took me about 3 months to even catch up to what U2 was doing on this record, it was so innovative. After Achtung and Joshua Tree, this is my favorite U2 album.
I bought this album just before the concert in Glasow in 93 loved this song, wasn't crazy on the rest of the album but a few months down the line I ended up loving it. One of my Favourite U2 albums , I did the same thing with Achtung Baby can you believe.
@ClubberLogan I can totally believe it. It's happened to me with many U2 albums. They make such dramatic changes in style from one album to the other, that in the begining you never know what to make of it, but then you can't get enough of it! A few examples: 1-Stay 2-Zooropa 3-Lemon 4-Until the End of the World 5-One (yes..ONE!. Back then it was a totally new U2) 6-Staring at the sun 7-The Ground beneath her feet. (best song ever) 8-Wake up Deadman 9-Please 10-Do you feel loved?
@radio187 couldnt agree wit u more...i actually like this more than achtung..the songs are so cohesive...the first few seconds of this album give me the chills..make you feel so vunerable...U2 yet to go back to this quality of album making....atomic bomb is the only recent album that even begins to resemble what they had acomplished earlier.
@radio187 and now we can all rejoice because Zooropa is BACK! They played it in FULL tonight live in Brazil! First time played live since 1993 I believe.
This song really reminds me of Pink Floyd. A long intro of instrumentals followed up with crazy lyrics, all the while theres those crazy floating voices asking "what do you want". An awesome song, maybe one of U2's top 5.
I won't disagree with you... Pink Floyd happens to be my favourite band ever, and will never be topped for me, with U2 happening to be my second. This song really did show that experimental shift from this era of U2.
This song does remind me of something you'd hear from The Wall, which like U2's Zooropa album, The Wall was a different kind of Pink Floyd album. And it is odd, because U2 is rarely ever compared to Pink Floyd as far as influence goes...
