i snorkled with these guys a few years back and i go back to zakinthos to do the same thing year after year, shame we cant learn from them.such gentle creatures compared to us crazy humans.
i love turtles and i went to zakynthos to see them i went to tsivili and booked my trip thingy and diniosis tours. chris works for archelon doesent he. hes a nice bloke so my dad is going to donate some money with a cheque to the new rescue centre there going to biuld there
Love the video. I found it looking for "flaming lips ego tripping". This is the only actual version (besides a nice cover by some other dude). Thanks for the song. Thanks for the turtles.
I once saw a hatchling crawl to the sea in Florida. Thanks for posting an important video from your experiences working with them in Greece. It's something few people get to see live. Good job!
Societies exist to inform the public about what to do and especially not to do around, in this case, turtles. To keep tourist from walking all over the nests and getting in the way. They fight to keep as much noise and disturbance as possible away from the turtles...I just believe that you don't have all the facts, and therefore shouldn't call them idiots that's all.
Perhaps calling them idiots is somewhat strong. However, I keep following the stories on these turtles for some years in the Greek media. And I have to say that the "facts" do not flatter these societies a lot: The number of turtles decreases year by year. Add to this some bureaucracy, lack of funding and public interest and you get the picture... We need more active and perhaps more skillful societies here.
Seen these turtles the last 3 years that i''ve been to zakynthos, and i'm going again this sunday! YAY! Turtles here i come, you need protecting
