Forgive me for the mispelling of the word walked across the seats of people just to shake my hand, it was totally cool. Paul E. Larson. I grew up on the Furs.
This was the most amazing concert, last night @ the Cats Cradle.Even better to hang out with Rich, and Miles, and for Rich to get my 1981 Talk Talk Talk Record signed by the whole band. This record was my fist LP my mom purchased for me when I was 13 back in 85. Hell of a concert !!! :]
Hi Bish, you are in for a treat mate, they were even better than i could have imagined! They came on at 9 and played the whole talk talk talk album, took a short break then came back and played for about another 45 minutes. They looked like they were having just the best time ever. The lead singer never stopped jumping around, he was ace. The line up had the original lead, bass and Sax, The drummer was also very very good!
Venue was pretty cool also. Never been before. It's an old night club right in the centre of Manchester, with sticky carpets and all :o) and great views from the balcony. It was a really good atmosphere, very well attended and a perfect venue for this type of gig.
I love the PF because they were the kings of Romantic Remote Absurdity! A key element of 80's new wave. enigmatic and alluring to a Tom Tom beat! "A handle to a door", "A telephone that lies" . These are like the candy roses on an aloof titalation Cake of discconected Love! Spin me around spin me a round! I'm beautifully Lost! YEAH!
They got lumped in with alot of the electronic bands of the 80's but to me they just rocked. I didnt like this album the first few times I heard it but now realize it's their best. Hope to see them the next time they visit Florida
definitely the top album of '81...this was their peak...afterwards a dismal series of shitty albums with a few stand-out singles in the following years..
talk talk talk was THE album.. after the 'pretty in pink' movie they had some pressure to become more commercial and relented, churning out vapid pop like 'heartbreak beat', etc
@zwartepiet412 i like all their albums, i dont think i'm too good to like heartbreak beat, which is a great song and production.. pretty in pink is by no means a good song though =/
I discovered Furs in the mid-80s as an 18 yr old. I was certifiably off my rocker, as were most of my black-draped, crazy-haired friends. I hear this for the first time in several years right now, and a few hairs of instability stand up on the back of my neck. It was like a brief volt of crazed, excited, naive youth that tickled the nerves in this now calm, middle-aged mom & wife. Thanks for posting!
@InefficiencyExpert Saw them during the Forever Now tour in Houston at the Music Hall..THEY WERE AWESOME!! Butler gave a captivating vocal performance!!

Great song thanks for posting! This is one of my alltime favorite songs of thiers. I love all their in studeo recorded stuff. I've never been happy with their live stage performances. So I am disapointed when people keep posting their live stuff. Richard Butler sounds awsome in studeo / on CD but live he comes off as totally tone deaf. I hate to sound insulting because I tend to think of Richard Butler as one of my favorite singers. But wow he sucks on stage.
This album is a masterpiece..buy it on vynyl...keep it cool, safe and dry.

One of the best bum out pop songs, of the last twenty years, The Psych Furs make the bum out so cool--Richard Butler is aging well, like David Niven

Man, this song kills me. It's been a while since I've listened to it.
I was a huge fan of this band in the early '80s and saw them in '84. I remember it being a great show and Butler was electrifying to watch.
