The PD team is flying competition velocity produced by Performance Designs.

JVX is just another high end extreme canopy produced by NZ aerosport/Daedalus.

the PD factory pilots are flying sub 100sq ft full sail JVX cross brassed canopies, they are easily capeable of swooping at 100 miles per hour plus, so no, that wasnt speeded up at all.

When a large person uses a smaller parachute (like the professionals typically do), their speed, even under the canopy (parachute) increases.

Just think, a balloon filled with less air than another will fall to the ground faster than one completely filled.
