theres 2 versions of the 80gb ps3 the 1 that u got is version 2 version 1 has chrome 4 usb slots and has the thing that opens on the side of the disc that u use the memory slots and it has backwards compatability

i would go with he new slim ps3. you get more storage space and it is THE EXACT same system as my fat ps3. NO DIFFERANCES AT ALL unless you dont like the design then get my ps3 off ebay like i did :)
