seen them live at he Spectrum in Philly - one of the most memorable concerts in my life. Later bought tickets with a crowd to see them at the Capitol Theater in NYC - they were opening for Uriah Heap. Got all the way up there and White Trash cancelled but Uriah Heap was still playing. We didn't care, we sold our tickets and left only to find out later that their drummer Bobby Ramirez was killed the night before in some unfortunate bar room brawl.
I used to see them as the Whiskey in LA. One night there were a shitload of cables going out the balcony back door to Wally Heider's mobile studio. Some of that ended up on the Roadwork album. What a band. So far ahead of their time. As BAD as anything today.
This was a great lineup. Saw them open for Humble Pie and Emerson Lake & Palmer at the Hollywood Bowl. They played this song as the sun went down and they turned on the lights . It was an awesome show on a warm summer night...
oh shit ,it dont get no funkier than this. I love this album, it is so funked up. the best horns sence james brown band. color aint got shit 2 do with funk, and i'm as black as the ace of spades
YOW!!!! This band was amazing! First got this album just before I turned 13, BLEW MY MIND! The funk, the outrageous energy, the musicianship, it was all there! Rick Derringer's tasty bluesy soulful guitar, the horns, Jerry LaCroix's powerhouse blues shouting, the kickass bass of Randy Jo Hobbs and Bobby Ramirez's funky, fiery and creative drumming. WOW! Still sounds great after all these years. No other version of this song can hold a candle to this one!
This is one intense, soulful, rockin' moment in time. I went to see them in Indianapolis in '71. The great drummer, Bobby Ramirez, was killed the night before in Chicago. They didn't play, I was heartbroken and the world lost the funkiest rock'n roll drummers to ever run down a groove. Later, I saw a cut-down version of the band that featured Randy Jo Hobbs on bass & he was just as incredible as he is here, but he's passed on now too. I hope more people can appreciate the value of this delivery.
Social media can be very nice in many ways. However due to the "gaps" in the time we have communicated with someone there is a potential to make refference to someones family member that is no longer with us. I recently did this out of ignorance of someones family member. I felt so bad.
The Roadwork album is the best work this band ever did. The Whiskey A- Go-Go was a piece of history. Edgar must have copped some really killer weed to play that sax solo on Tobacco Road! It is one of my favorite solos of all my years and I'm 56!!!. Groove on fellow baybies! Cool Fool, Do Yourself a Favor--WOW!
i hope the mf,s that killed Bobby are burning in hell.

I was at this show .... when it came to that Southern funk groove with a Cajun twist, nothing matched the mix of Edgar Winter and Jerry La Croix.

I saw them the year this came out. This is just what it sounded like. They were the best show I had ever seen.

Myself and a bloke called Zappa used to listen to this 30 or so years ago. I get the same buzz out of it now as I did back then. Absolutely love it!!

Then I remembered this song.
You know what I DID FEEL LIKE SCREAMING.
You know what I DID SCREAM out.............
Thank you for letting the love light shine:-)
