@WolverineDeus He passed a health care bill that is a completely watered down and stripped version of the bill his base wanted, and it may not survive long enough in the new congress. He brought into another conflict with Afghanistan we should never have been in. He ended reinstating the Bush tax cuts so the richest Americans still get huge cuts and the rest trickles down. He did save the US automotive industry, by using tax payers money to do so. He repealed DADT, I will give him that one.

What republicans are proposing: Taking down the unions, FDA/EPA, killing more jobs, taking away healthcare reform, abortions, etc is down right insane/extreme.

@JACKtheRIPP3R189 I meant that he wasn't dumb in the sense that whether his judgment was good or bad, he always had his way, and he certainly knew how to sell Iraq when it mattered, i.e., the first couple of years after 9/11. I'm certain he isn't as much an intellectual as other presidents, but he wasn't exactly dumb. For example, his reaction to the Tucson shootings would have been a conciliatory and appeasing one, unlike dumbfuck Palin who put the final nail on her public image coffin there.

The only one that comes to mind ATM is Geraldine Ferraro, who was a former VP candidate in 1984, I believe. They like to use her to push their absurd "Fair and Balanced" moniker... and they hardly ever have her on.

But he DID have the role of creating and passing the budget during the only time in the last 20-30 years that the federal budget was balanced. So that is one positive thing you can say about him you cannot say of the other options.

Huckabee has an active TV show on Fox while Gingrich and Santorum are just contributors. My guess is that it would not be profitable to cut Huckabee off. Releasing Gingrich and Santorum doesn't hurt their bottom line. As for Palin, perhaps the executives know that she can't and won't compete in a primary election against these relatively smart politicians. Palin will bluster about possibly running but will back out once the real brains make clear their intentions. Fox surely knows this.
