  • Kindle!!! Services!!!

  • Obviously the Samsung is the best and it cost 299$ now

  • Hi, this is a great video. Can you please let me know if the galaxy tab 7 plus can run netflix. Thanks

  • @pollino068 It certainly can. Netflix is available for devices that's Android 2.2 or newer.

  • Thumbs this up so the people can not waste this video time:

THE NOOK IS THE BEST ONE. I HAVE TRIED THEM ALL.

    Thank you.

  • @LOverofmaxy LOL Ok. Clearly the Samsung is the best one. It's the fastest as well.

  • My local library has EPUB books. Thus, one could read books for free if one's library system supports EPUB/PDF. The Nook does PDF, yes?

  • @NerdyCanadian Yes, and yes. The Kindles are the only ones that don't currently support ebook, but yo can check out library books. Yes, Nook does PDFs.

  • @MobileTechReview Thank you!

  • @MobileTechReview I've been reading it is "difficult" to get the library books on the N. Tablet...have you tried to do it? Also, I heard that the firmware update eliminates the possibility of rooting the device. In your opinion, is the Tablet worth the price?

  • @NerdyCanadian You need to set up your PC with Adobe Digital Editions to download library books which you then can transfer to the Nook Tablet over USB.

  • @MobileTechReview Thank you!

  • Thanks for the info! I have decided to get a nook tablet! :)

  • Thanks for the info! I have decided to get a nook tablet!

  • just a tip for onlookers: the contract for tmobile enables voice calls and video calls with the inclusion of a port for a sim card. the model comes with 4g rather than only wifi, so if you are looking for a tablet and don't mind a contract, the samsung is definately the best choice

  • which is best with video quality?

  • Got the HTC EVO view (Sprint's Flyer) for $220

  • I have the nook tablet the only problem I have with it is it needs more apps in the android market and as far as camera front and rear I have a htc evo for that so that is one feature I do not need

  • Hmm...woud the Acer Iconia A100 be a good tablet as we

  • If you would compare the kindle fire vs the nook tablet, which would you prefer?

  • @321murf123:

Nook Tablet...Hands down is a superior device compared to the Kindle Fire.

I have posted several reasons why that are not my opinion...but facts!

  • The question i've always had is why you would by the kindle fire or nook to play games, watch movies, and listen to musics when it was made to read books.

  • @sigmaboy2 Because by rooting a Nook, you effectively convert it from an eReader to an Android tablet at $249, while other Android tablets will cost much more.

  • If im 14 and i love to read, but i also like to play games, which one would be the best for me? Also, can you buy a case for all of them?

  • @cdistasi They all can do that. While the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet have more ebook integrations, the Samsung and HTC have better access to games.

  • @cdistasi:

The Nook Tablet is the best value by far. Yes, it costs $50 more...but it's well worth it.

*IF*...you were an Amazon Prime member (which costs an additional $80 a year) you can get a couple of freebies each month on a Kindle Fire. That being said...I feel the Nook Tablet is still superior (tech specs, versatility, etc).

    Over 2 years of ownership...

Nook Tablet = $249 (the price you pay one time)

Kindle Fire - $360 (the price of the product PLUS $80 x 2 years for Amazon Prime)

  • @PokerPirate doesnt the NOOK offer a 30 dollar yearly membership too?

  • @ChickenWingz101:

Barnes and Noble does have a membership program...but it's not at all like the Amazon Prime program...it's 68.75% less expensive though.

B&N membership is $25 and it gives you $25 off a Nook Color or Tablet...so you break even. From there you get 40% off Hardcover books and 10% off "Almost" everything else and Free Express (1 - 3 day) shipping.

The "Almost" is what is not very clear.

Regardless...the Nook Tablet is still a superior device.

  • @cdistasi: Nook Tablet is the best choice over the Kindle Fire for many reasons (which I've already posted).

  • @cdistasi i would suggest the fire, it's at a lower price point and can run most android apps if rooted

  • yay nook i gots one

  • Get a nook color, forget about all these tablets.

  • @Redoople Color touchscreen readers, not including E-Ink. Separate track. ;)

  • which one is better for college use,the fire or the nook????

  • @pjtoxic09 Will you mainly use it for book reading?

  • @MobileTechReview yeh that and taking notes aswell

  • @MobileTechReview Im a college student and I'll be using it primarily for reading books but the occasional game or movie wouldn't hurt. What would you recommend?

  • @pjtoxic09 neither. they are useless beyond entertainment purposes

  • also did anyone else get hungry when she said ice cream cone...mmmmmm

  • im sooo very jealouse of this woman right now...so many tablet in one plase and all of them hers....ITS NO FAIR...I WANT ONE!!!!!

  • i have a htc and its so awesomee can u download like facechat like fah example oovoo?

  • The flyer isn't on best buys website and its not on the apple or android mobile app...Amazon has the wifi version. The best price on a new one on Amazon was 459.00 for the wifi version....most sellers had them for 500.00 or more .....again I'm not sure where you got your info..but I cannot find one company selling this tablet for 299.00 or even close ....

  • @JohnDiMartino lol idiot, 3 comments on 2 pages saying the exact same thing.

Although it appears to no longer be available on the BestBuy website (it was 299), I've heard rumors that it's out of stock and maybe even discontinued. But probably just out of stock. Besides, there are always things places like... eBay. It's hard to not-find it for 300... unless you're an idiot, that is.

  • You dont make any sense..Amazon is always cheaper....best buy doesn't even sell the flyer! I wasted a day of spare time researching this device because you had it listed at 299.00....it starts at almost 500.00.You should correct your video so others dont waste there time on it.

  • @JohnDiMartino Best Buy in the US was the exclusive seller of the HTC Flyer WiFi version, and they seem to have run out of stock, probably because of the price cut to $299. They tell us it's still active in their system, but they don't know when they will get more. The $500 versions usually come from overseas and have 3G.

  • @MobileTechReview Actually the HTC flyer has been discontinued and best buy no longer sells it.

  • @JohnDiMartino amazon is cheaper because they want you to buy their games and movies along with their products

  • @JohnDiMartino best buy does sell the flyer get on their website and type it in

  • Excellent presentation. Thanks.

  • kindle vs nook, i'll take the extra 50$ and less storage

  • Getting the Nook for Christmas :)

  • HTC flyer price is waaaayyyyy off...they are 500 and up.....not 299.00 as posted here....that's a huge game changer ..in fact it is too $ to be in the comparison ....IMO..

  • @JohnDiMartino in amazon its that price, in places like best buy its supposedly 299...arrrr

  • SOS, but I don't give a CRAP about viewing angles, who cares? Oh you must, you spent 2 whole minutes son them, not hating, just giving constructive critisism

  • @MrShiraz1999 Thanks for pointing it out. :) Actually many people care about viewing angles which is a part of screen quality evaluation. There is a very good reason that IPS displays are popular because in part of its incredible viewing angles.

  • I'm thinking of buying a tablet mainly for eBooks and writing stories, what do you recommend for that?

  • which would be best for typing school papers???

  • @Xxmrcowan12xX They can all do that. If you are used to a hardware keyboard, get a Bluetooth keyboard.

  • @MobileTechReview neither the nook tablet nor the kindle fire have bluetooth, so no physical keyboard for them.

  • did anyone else notice that the HTC says its 3'o clock and the samsung says its 4'o clock

  • I know the kindle doesn't but does the nook have bluetooth? to me that's a serious game changer

  • @STEELNUTSACK She says the the nook doesn't have BT either.

  • Your reviews are great and those gender comments seems strange.

  • Great reviews! Thank you very much!!:]

  • @LilMonsterHaus Thanks!

  • galaxy tab 7.0 is the best

  • What would you recommend the htc flyer or the nook tablet

Also when does the new flyer come out, should i wait or buy it now

P.S. do you know of any upcoming sales

  • You must own a Kindle to borrow a free book not a Kindle app on a non-Kindle device

  • @RobynHode8 This true as of right now, although the Amazon website says this feature will be integrated into apps in the near future! Just wanted to let you know!

  • HTC flyer for the win! The stylus is smexy and provides added value that no other 7 inch tablet offers. :)

  • Great review! Very informative. Thanks Lisa.

  • @rmwtsou You're welcome! Please share our reviews with friends. :)

  • i went with the galaxy 7.0 plus and i had the reat of them. the tab is great

  • @verizonphoner Congrats!! Glad to hear you like it!

  • If someone gave you 400 bucks which one would you buy?

  • Oh relax. It was a joke. Her reviews are excellent though. But I stand by my comments about her hands. What's with the veins, does she work for living or something? LOL.

  • Pro: Astounding reviewer! Informative and content packed without gimmicks or moronic hijinks. I had to buy two droid tablets for my parents during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales and MobileTech was instrumental in my purchases.

Con: Have veiny unattractive hands. Should consider using a hot buxom young presenter chick for additional review eye candy.

Other than that these reviews are fantastic. I subscribed.

  • @Zetler completely rude and shallow. She does a great job!

  • I also recommend the kobo vox, its pretty underpowered at 800 Mhz but it its good for anywhere outside the us. Its also open android so you can get the app for pretty much any ebook store, and it has cool social features for ereading. Its only $200.

  • No Playbook?!

  • Lisa, tell me whether the nook flickers, don't lie! ;)

  • @ricwurui Not in person, but it does show up in videos. B&N doesn't pay me, so I wouldn't lie. :) Also, you can go to a B&N bookstore and check it out in person.

  • @MobileTechReview Thanks Lisa, but I do observe flickering in person when in gray color or trying to change the brignthess. There's a thread in XDA forum regarding this issue. However, the interesting thing is that most people don't realize it. I love the nook but since I am going to buy it as a gift for a kid, I don't want to give him something hurts his eyes. Anyway, I like your reviews. You are the best!

  • I just got the acer iconia tab a100 at bestbuy for $190 due to the black friday deal

    and I love it.

  • @KaosBD14 Excellent!

  • I have the kindle fire and it actually bores me to look at it and use it, but I gotta give this round to apple and HTC those will have the biggest sales this year

  • @DreamingOutLoud33. your right about apple selling the most but not HTC the asus transformer 2 is coming out and the moterola xoom and i bet the ipad 3 is coming out this year

  • Even though they are all 7 inches, but I realize the screen ratio looks so different.

  • Very good smackdown!

  • @jounihat Thanks!

  • nook looks shit though

  • Great review.

  • @dureyes Thanks! Please share our reviews. Thanks! :)

  • The Nook looks like flickers in all the videos I see.

  • @kobyyeth123 it

  • @kobyyeth123 That only shows up on camera. It's the way the display is built, you can't see it with the naked eye.

  • deffinitly want the nook. n if it flickers on ur screen its because of the video camera filming the screen. like if u were to record a tv screen

  • HD videos on youtube in desktop version on the Nook Color ( hacked with Cynanogen ) still sucks and is too choppy at 480p. Anything beyond that is unwatchable even clocked at 1.2ghz. Love my Nook, for basic internet and fun Android apps it is just great, but its sluggish for typing and any real media. I mean, music sounds pretty bad and video looks awful when ripped properly. Supports no real HD content at all. Time for an upgrade, but not sure what to do. HTCs note taking pen looks nice

  • ya gooo htc flyer!!!!

  • Which tablet is best for Skype do you think?

  • @OsirisIX htc flyer

  • did the HTC Flyer come with a case/sleeve and stylus?

  • what about the acera100?

  • Nice one again! BTW, HTC confirmed that Honeycomb for the Flyer will arrive in the coming weeks, curious if it will get Ice cream sandwich like the Tab will most likely. I will still stick to my big lovely 10" Transformer, waiting for ICS :)

  • so which one would you recommend??

  • @justcallmeliam Really depends on how much money you want to spend and what you need. Also whether you're comfortable rooting to get more functionality from the Kindle and Nook (assuming you want more functionality). Personally, I find the HTC Flyer offers the best bang for the buck right now with a sharp display, quality build and the ability to run Nook, Kindle and other ereader apps plus do general Android tablet stuff.

  • @MobileTechReview Great reviews! I was looking for an inexpensive 7 inch e-reader or tablet that will let me use all reading apps. Tried the Flyer out this week, loved the UI, but not the price. Bought the Iconia a100, planning on getting the $189 price match from BB tomorow, and ordered an $89 ematic reader and $158 dell streak. But last night I was able to order an open box Flyer for $199. I think it will win out, but I will at least try out the Dell and the Ematic.

  • @13Keepers Nice!!

  • @13Keepers What website did you get the flyer from?

  • @SchneidEr tech for less- On wed they had the 16gb refurbished for $174 and open box for $199. I tried for nearly 3 hours to order through their site, but it kept crashing. Maybe many people were jumping on this and similar deals. I ordered through amazon marketplace instead. That was how I found out about the pricing in the first place. I know they still had more yesterday, but I do not know about now.

  • @13Keepers The price just jumped to $375 (which is strange considering that bestbuy has it listed for $299.)

    Thanks for the help.

  • Respond to this video... Also, if you have an .edu email address, you can get Prime from Amazon for free. To upgrade for unlimited streaming, it is then only 39.00 a year.

  • kindle fire wins!!!!

  • Where's the Blackberry Playbook?

  • @pecuevasb its not android so its not with them

  • @pecuevasb It's lost in irrelevancy

Lol just kidding. I like the Playbook myself, but there wouldn't be much point in comparing it to these tablets because it is lacking so many built in software functions (PIM, email client, etc etc) and major third party apps. Out of the box, all of these tablets simply outperform the Playbook in terms of software. That doesn't mean the Playbook isn't a good tab, but it would be an almost pointless comparison in terms of software.

  • @pecuevasb noone wants that useless piece of shit

  • @pecuevasb It's a comparison of android tablets...Not tablets.

  • lisa is an awesome reviewer

question : lisa are you going to review the asus eee pad transformer prime ?

    please response .

  • @MileyGagaBoy Thanks! Yes, we will have a review of the Prime. Stay tuned.

  • @MobileTechReview thank you . :)

  • @MileyGagaBoy of course she will, lol

  • @ricwurui -,-

  • galaxy 7 wins if the playbook had apps I would put it 3rd

  • there's an custom Honeycomb rom for the Flyer.

  • nook flickering screen wildly :P

  • Apple should make chepper 7" iPad or somethink...

  • you can see the Nook's screen flickering crazily :P

  • am i wrong, or the flyer touch button's move from horizontal to vertical position :O

  • @iKRISK0 No, you are not wrong. That's what we showed you in the video. :)

  • I stay with samsung

  • Just what I was looking for thanks!

  • @buzzlightyear10 Excellent! Please be sure to share our reviews with friends. Thanks!! :)

  • Smackdowns. Yeah baby. That's the way I like it Lisa. Mmmmmm....

  • @yantravimana Yeah, baby! :)

  • Comment removed

  • What the heck is the Nook doing with it's screen that it flickers. It happens here and in the review of the Nook itself. Does it have a different refresh rate than the other screens? Or is it just a weird effect on my end?

  • @CmputrBlu Not on your end unfortunately. You can't see the flickering in person or even on the video camera some times, but it does show through on the video. We tried different rates of recording, still ended up with some flickering.

  • Rooting the fire isn't difficult.

  • Htc flyer ftw!

  • SMACKDOWN yeahhhhh ...happy holidays . Do not text and drive or walk. Be well Bob

  • New to your channel and love your review of the tablets. Question: Where did you find the easels for the tablets?

  • @anovedpoet We review these accessories on MobileTechReview. The easel style stand is made by Twelve South called Compass Tablet Stand. Do a search on our site to read the review.

  • Acer Iconia Tab A100 is going to drop to $199.99

  • The galaxy tab wins. Imo.

  • deff helped me

  • AWESOME.

  • Hmmm... The HTC Flier looks like the Galaxy Tab 10.1N.

  • you forgot the t-mobile springboard

  • 7" is great size, but 8" is the perfect size for a tab. i hope more companies move to the 8 inch size.

  • Love all your reviews!!!! Always will be a subscriber!!!

  • Just ordered the nook, but with all the price drops maybe I should have waited

  • I am a fan of 7" slate devices. Thank you so much for this!

  • The HTC Flyer just looks so smexy....but B&N is just so close to me....>.< I can't pick.

  • @KiraismyLord Ill help, samsung.

  • @Reptiliia nooo :c

  • @KiraismyLord Think about it, Nook $250, and HTC Flyer $300 and it has two cameras

  • UR AWESOME... which one is your favorite? Im looking for an ereader... is the samsung galaxy tab a good choice?

  • @ThePE12345 Thanks :) If you're looking for an eReader more than a general purpose "can do everything" tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus might be overkill. But then, in a few months you won't wish you'd gotten one with a GPS/cameras/insert features missing from eBook readers here.

  • How about the Playbook tablet?

  • Where is the $200 16GB Blackberry Playbook?

  • @JogBird I felt that 4 tablets in 1 comparison video was about as much as we could fit without the video getting too long or boring. We do tablet comparisons fairly frequently, and I'm sure the Playbook will make an appearance :)

  • @JogBird it sucks

  • Awesome! Thank you for posting this, Lisa :)

  • @vidcritic300 Sure thing! Share this with friends, it will probably help some folks who are trying to decide. ;)
