ink is stored in a tank in the printer, your ink is not even entered!

your print heads are going to get empty really fast if you don't prefil the cartridges. The ink supply line to your 3rd party cartridges are practically empty (it also looked like the cartridges themselves were empty). The thing about CIS is they trick the printer into thinking the cartridge is full even if it isn't. So you have to make sure A, your cartridge is full, B your resevoir tank is full. If not the printer will use up the ink that is in the print heads and they will expire too soon.
