In that verse, God (not man) is telling us he's going to do away with satan completely. It's also God's way of letting us know that we don't need to fear satan, as long as we keep our faith/trust in him and know/understand that all the prophesies, he has spoken, will be fulfilled. <== This is putting God first (trusting in him to bring about TRUE peace).
