@diametre60 Hi - Well I never said this was an EVH-voiced head, it's just all I can play really... I've forgotten most everything from my death metal days.
Not to mention the playing sounds pretty similar. If this is JerryP(one of the best modders of the 5150 series) then what happened to your other tag/channel? I may be completely wrong lol.. anyway IF it is the same JerryP from harmony centrals amp forums, I took a break for a year or so and see you don't post anymore. When I got back I was hoping I could contact you about your mod list for the 5150. My current is biased, but considering doing some other mods to it.
Is this JerryP formerly of HCAF? I recognize the playing, and the tone here sounds just like it always does in all of the 5150 mod videos, I'd guess due to the mic you use to record. I also recognize the guitar.
@NevvyC well as for a parametric EQ id take a frequency to ruffly 320Hz and narrow or widen the Q/Bandwidth to your taste to get that phat chunky sound, and put a low pass filter to roll off a little bit of the high frequency so its not too fuzzy with noise and that way you can hear the notes your playing better, unless you like the so called noise. give it a shot you may or may not liek what you hear. this is just my advice and opinion, i dotn knwo your exact taste :P
@DB73093 > Tube rectification can sound less "stiff" that solid state. Amps using TR generally have what they call "sag", meaning a bit of softness or sponginess in the attack, whereas SS rectified amps generally have more pronounced transient attack.
You can definitely hear that tube sag...I love it.

@diametre60 Thats ironic considering EVH himself advocated the 5150 as his amp of choice, and used it ALWAYS.

it can sound way better than this, throw maybe a T808 and a parametric eq on that adn u got a disgusting tone at your footstep

@MrGoth777 what would you set the EQ at on this to get that 'disgusting' tone? ;)

@MrGoth777 i don't have an EQ, i was just curious as to what you would set it at and why :P.
No i don't like the noise haha, and yeh i own a Maxon OD808 for that extra push.
Also, a high-pass filter is to cut the low frequencies out (to get rid of 'boomyness') ie. it lets the high frequencies 'pass' through
NevvyC 4 months ago
@NevvyC ya high pass is good too i forgo bout that i rushed my message lol
MrGoth777 4 months ago
@NevvyC as for the t808 , i dunno if you know what that is if not a good tube screamer would suffice and spice up the tone as well
MrGoth777 4 months ago
What does the tube rectification change in the tone?

i would love to put some rectifier tubes in my 5150
sasquatch9934 1 year ago
@sasquatch9934 He put in rectifiers in place of the solid state diodes. His tubes are the stock 6L6 tubes.
