I almost did this to someone on Craigslist. I bought something from a guy and it was not at all like he claimed "perfect" condition." It did not work and when I contacted him about it, he wouldn't give me my money back. He has a carport full of stuff and I really wanted to list his stuff for free and give his address. But, sometimes we just can't do what we want. Ya know, because of consequences and bad karma and all that crap.

Our home was being foreclosed on so we put stuff on our front lawn and advertised on Craigslist as "free" well within 30 minutes 100 people showed up.

My dad and I were gone to the store and when we got home we were horrified to see that people were inside of our house!

God only knows what they might've taken and how they unlocked the door we'll never know, but this story doesn't surprise me.

You know what's weird, I run a classifieds site also, that offers free garage sale ads, and recently, someone did something similar on my site. A gentleman emailed me saying he was getting tons of phone calls and when i checked the user account, they had given his correct name, address, phone, etc. He must have really made someone mad, that's a pretty harsh thing to do to someone. Plus, makes it hard for people like me, who want to give free ads out, but sick of spammers and weirdos placing ads

A similar situation happened to a family in Holley, NY recently. It may even be on the local news here in Rochester, NY. My locked enclosed porch was burglarized two weeks ago and I believe it was someone on Craigslist.  I even agreed to go on the news and talk about it. This is a growing problem that should be addressed.
