The use of force in self defense is for protecting one from aggression. Krav Maga is brutal in it's efficiency. It's designed to eliminate the threat as quickly as possible it's and many times that is using lethal force. It's not designed for bar room brawls or rough housing with your friends. my only problem with these videos is the fact that he tells people to hit the back of the neck and skull. hitting a person hard enough in either spot can kill them, landing you in more trouble then the other guy. my advice, just keep hitting him in the face or shoulder areas. you'll either knock him out or break his shoulders. which are both better then killing him. especially in Indiana, we have no self-defense laws.

Like hitting a big tire would work also. This will work to the side of the head also the ribs. If you had a couple of small knifes and used them with a hammer fits fight would end quick ty

if you encounter somebody thats deranged enough to attack you on the street, they wont be coming at you with a nice stance and form. they will run at you and tackle or dive into you, or throw wild punches and kicks.

in my oppinion, the best way to learn effective self defense, is to bring a friend over, and practice different situations.
I heard from many channels, people that Krav Maga is very efficient. But my feeling is about Krav Maga that they are doing a lot of things but not professional in anything. I think it can be very good when you are on a high level in anykind of martial arts (thai box, Jiu-Jitsu, anything) and you have your own basics. But I have not ever tried Krav Maga so this is just an opinion. But I give respect for all the styles so this is a polite opinion.

I had to use a hammer fist on a guy once, he tried to take me down with a tackle, but my rugby training keeped me on my feets, so i used a hammer fist right to his kidney. He fell to the floor about 5 seconds after, it's a really devastating attack.
Hammer Strikes are great becuase if you take their knee out from behind, push their shoulder's down, do a Hammer Strike right on top of their head , then push them onto the ground and do a neck pinch from behind....they won't mess with you anymore

When he's mid stream walk up behind him and clamp those bad boys down on his ding a ling. Explain to him you aren't a violent person but you will defend yourself if you have to. Dump the pliers as soon as your done. He'll leave you alone.
Problem is this guy is experienced, when it comes to real scenarios your body tends to act on instinct and it's hard to keep a clear mind and actually think things through. But then again, watch video's like this enough, practice or even Join Krav Maga and then you could stand a good chance of actually delivering like this in real life situations.

@dedzone It is another option, your opponent is shorter than you, or is doubled over in which case that gives the hammer strike a clear advantage. It also packs a bit more juice than a normal punch.
@dedzone When you punch someone in a short distance it takes you twice the time of movement than hammer strike. Also hammer strike is more powerful because you are moving the force toward plus your body weight momentum.
Use this punch while holding your cell phone downwards with the heavy end(if there is any difference) extending it about half an inch from your fist not more. It makes it three times more effective.I already used this and it is very effective.
U might break ur phone ,but your life is more important and it surely withstands five-six strikes.
I fear i'm going to break my little finger if I do this to the boney face area. I wonder if the hammer fist would be as effective if you tried to keep it to strikes to the collar bones and upper middle chest.
@windmoveswater Many martial arts teach you to strike with the lower part of the fist, the tough bone just above the wrist. Moving the striking area to the top of the fist, towards the side of the knuckle and your pinky would indeed give a greater chance of damaging your fist when hitting a hard surface.

if you encounter somebody thats deranged enough to attack you on the street, they wont be coming at you with a nice stance and form. they will run at you and tackle or dive into you, or throw wild punches and kicks.
you'd have to be a master of everything to accurately anticipate wild blows and defend against them.
in my oppinion, the best way to learn effective self defense, is to bring a friend over, and practice different situations.

I heard from many channels, people that Krav Maga is very efficient. But my feeling is about Krav Maga that they are doing a lot of things but not professional in anything. I think it can be very good when you are on a high level in anykind of martial arts (thai box, Jiu-Jitsu, anything) and you have your own basics. But I have not ever tried Krav Maga so this is just an opinion. But I give respect for all the styles so this is a polite opinion.

@EranFuchsDesigns krav maga is geared toward millitary combat which consists of alot of quick kill tactics, mma isnt less effective but it could be less effective in a war situation but in streetfights your not really out to kill anyway. krav maga also teaches less in grappling than mma and encourages not to go on the ground becasue in war when you get on the ground you most likely die unlike streetfights where groundfighting is nessesary to know so its all realative.

I had to use a hammer fist on a guy once, he tried to take me down with a tackle, but my rugby training keeped me on my feets, so i used a hammer fist right to his kidney. He fell to the floor about 5 seconds after, it's a really devastating attack.

Hammer Strikes are great becuase if you take their knee out from behind, push their shoulder's down, do a Hammer Strike right on top of their head , then push them onto the ground and do a neck pinch from behind....they won't mess with you anymore

Problem is this guy is experienced, when it comes to real scenarios your body tends to act on instinct and it's hard to keep a clear mind and actually think things through. But then again, watch video's like this enough, practice or even Join Krav Maga and then you could stand a good chance of actually delivering like this in real life situations.

@dedzone It is another option, your opponent is shorter than you, or is doubled over in which case that gives the hammer strike a clear advantage. It also packs a bit more juice than a normal punch.

@dedzone When you punch someone in a short distance it takes you twice the time of movement than hammer strike. Also hammer strike is more powerful because you are moving the force toward plus your body weight momentum.
Of course it only works for short distance.

Use this punch while holding your cell phone downwards with the heavy end(if there is any difference) extending it about half an inch from your fist not more. It makes it three times more effective.I already used this and it is very effective.

@windmoveswater Many martial arts teach you to strike with the lower part of the fist, the tough bone just above the wrist. Moving the striking area to the top of the fist, towards the side of the knuckle and your pinky would indeed give a greater chance of damaging your fist when hitting a hard surface.
