  • I've been able to do this since I was a kid. It's really starting to affect me as an adult. When I run for long periods while exercising, both ankles start to do this and it gets really annoying! I feel like I can't get a proper run in and I'm wondering if I should've never started doing it in the first place.... ahhhhh, now I can't stop!!! I'm doing it now!! AHHHH

  • mine is simlar and its just sometimes it cracks and others times really loud and like a snap.there has been times wen it hurts like if i twist my ankle i can tell suttin might be rong cuz it makes it feel a lil better.but it was the left only at one point and now its the right and the left a lil only wen i fuck wit it alot or keep it still for a long time. same wit left shoulder and right hip

  • Mines likes yours make more of popping sound though. I have had it for 14 years though just now fixing it with a cast. I got mine by being bullied from a rock chucked at me.

  • is that on the outside or inside of your ankle mine's on the outside

  • sometine this happens when I walk. It started after I broke 2 metatarsals. It happened with each step when I was unwittingly walking on the broken foot. now it just happens randomly and I can never figure out what movement causes it.

  • Ummmm ewwww

  • OMFG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD DO THIS

  • i can do this! but its not a problem and ive never sprained my ankle...its hereditary and ive been able to do it my whole life. my dad has it too.

  • i have the same problem! surgery's coming up!

  • i had this problem but i got it sorted out with surgery they found i snappped my tendon and then they repaired it and i had floating stuff inside so becareful

  • I've had surgery on this problem mine was that but worse. This isn't from a sprain you have to 1st have the birth defect of not having a groove where the peroneal tendon would usually sit. Then yes in my case & in many others I had a sprain. I ripped of the sheath that held the peroneal tendons in place then the tendons were able to move in my ankle, resulting in it going over my ankle bone stretching the tendon. this is worse then just a sprain this is a subluxing tendon.

  • Mine is also making a clicking noise... After going crazy on the seated calf raise...bt it ain't as bad as this vid!!! What's the best cure without surgery?

  • @StickyIky

this is a very rare problem you probably don't have this.

and if you did have this problem after time it would hurt all the time stop you from all your sports and the only fix would be surgery.

  • i have that problen too! hey i have a cuestion can ankle subluxation cause you pain on the knee too?

  • @ylnats7

if you think you have this go to a doctor. mine would hurt up pretty par into my calf.

  • glad ur surgery went ok. =] do u think u'll b able to return 2 sports???

  • hey. now i know whats wrong with my ankle! i think mines from deformation of my ankle. does yours always get sprained, like really easily?

  • haha yeahh thats what was wrong with mine kinda..

its like your tendon is supposed to be behind the bone, like around a hook type thing and not come out. you either have a smaller hook than most people or a stretched out tendon. mine was a combination of the two thats why it popped so far

and yessssssss it still does. try doing a lot of strengthening exercises

  • mine snaps out from just moving my ankle around in a circular motion, and sprains occur from just running, i've sprained it for 2 or 3 days by doing long jump once. about 4 months ago, i was going to get a wall (by stepping off it) and slipped into the wall (it was wet) basically twisting my ankle 90degrees to the right, whilst my knee stayed where it was, i have a feeling that made this much worse, i am in year 8 now, I've had this since year 5.

  • omg...thats awfull....sprains can be so bad

  • yay that makes me feel heaps better!! nah the snap out of place i woudnt even know it happened... the doc was like can u feel that. im like umm nope haha..

im just in pain still i guess form the original sprain, so having trouble walking still.. its been 6 weeks :( but i guess your the best news ive heard so far. considering my sports doc said ill never walk properly or train agin in my life.. dickhead he is!!

  • yeah i got you, sprains can sometimes be much worse than breaks. maybe you can try physical therapy. thats always the best way to start (:

  • @xoKatiee90

this isn't a sprain this is something much worst. Becarful with it because once it start bothering you the only fix is surgery,

  • holy fuck that looks bad.. i just got told i have peroneal subluxation.. but nothing liek that.. its really hard for mine to snap out and i cnt even notice.. but i got told i had to get surgery.. ??? i was thinking i cud just rehab

  • haha yeahhh surgery's not totally necessary unless it's actually bothering you. mine used to be hard to snap out but i did it a lot and it got looser. if you do snap it all it's doing is grinding against your bone and tearing sooo if you don't want surgery don't do it lol you could probably live without the surgery unless it gets worse

  • My ankle was hurt while I was practicing judo. I had a surgery after five months of the injury. Even it has been three years after the surgery, I don't have confidence to practice judo again. I don't know how strong is the sheath that the surgeon reconstructed in my ankle. I can walk normally now, but am still hesitant to get back to my favourite sport...... +_+

  • i too have this problem and i have no clue what i am in for! I have been to the docs and told surgery is a must!

  • Haha i had the surgery...

they told me it was a must tooo...if you don't get the surgery it could snap and thats even worse hah

  • The sound. That has to be really unnerving

  • I too have the same thing got surgery a week ago, it went well only a 35 minute operation, doc says i can walk normally in 4 weeks so im pretty excited about that. good luck with your injury

  • Ouch that has to hurt!

  • i have the same injury as you in 2005 when i was playing ice hockey... i did my surgery to repair my peroneal tendon subluxation on 13 june 2008.. they re-suture back the superior peroneal retinaculum and now i can walk normally.. cant wait to go back to ice hockey after 5 months i didnt skate..
