I would really like to compare the grandstands of this grand prix with the grandstands from the Abu Dhabi grand prix for example... That should say it all!
If the Williams would have been as "bad" as the Ferrari JV would have finished 4th in drivers standings, he's the shittiest most worthless world champion ever.
@KingsPowerSteel You said it... Now everyone is money laundering with race tracks all across the richest countries in the middle east... I wish tracks like this one, Magny Cours (France), Jerez (Spain), Estoril (Portugal), and Kyalami (South Africa) were back...
Villeneuve had the luck that the Williams was the superb car in that season. If else he would never been the world champion. In my opinion it is an arrogant, overrated and dangerous son of a bitch. Wich turned out the be true in the later seasons.
@danthemanpatrick Agreed. In my view '97, '98, and '99 were probably the best seasons. I have fond memories of those, especially '98 and '99 (Häkkinen was sublime).

While Villeneuve wasn't the greatest driver, you've gotta say he did a lot better than Frentzen, his team mate who was quite a good racer.

Irvine had some strange performances in 1997. Last in Brazil, challenging for the lead here the very next race...

Looks like a lot of fun. I wish they would go back there.

Williams was a lot faster in 1997 than Ferrari. Villeneuve was sick that day. Anyway Irvine drove well.

@antonelloateloanto that's right, Villeneuve was violently ill due to food poisoning, took guts to hang on with such pressure

Villeneuve had diarrhoea that day and Irvine still couldn't beat him.

Brundle was so biased against JV his whole career. "Jacques is exhausted", gimmie a break.
Beowolf8312 6 months ago
@Beowolf8312 He said that cause Jacques was racing whilst suffering from flu or fever or some kind of illness.
