First, I have a Captivate. I don't have an "Android phone." I have a Samsung Captivate phone that's running Android. In some ways, Android is better. In some other ways, I'm sure iOS is better. The best available phone running Android OS is essentially on par with what Apple produces. Apple has had a great business and marketing strategy - but that's their business. Just get the best available product for your money. Why invest your emotions in it?
Its true some android maps dont work on certain devices and its hard to find the right one for the a device you have while the app store has apps that will go into eitger an ipod or iphone, ipad etc.... I mean that makes it super easy to download right away knowing it will work

Yeah, you can pack new shit and huge power into a product, but do people want or need it, and does it ACTUALLY make the experience better? Steve Jobs talked about the fragmented experience of Android phones, and he has some very good points: Android phones get abandoned after a relatively short period of time as far as updates go, etc....
More power doesn't mean a better USER EXPERIENCE (I liked Apple, but wasn't committed to getting an iPhone until I tried out the other touchscreen phones that Verizon had at the time and saw how crappy their responsiveness was). And is it so bad to want your product to be..pretty? I think it's great that Apple thinks of it's products as pieces of art, holding their designs to higher aesthetic standards.
I'm sure I could find a way to slop together some plastic over some cellphone guts, but it might look like a brick of burnt popcorn (The Zune popped into my mind just now). It's not all about the latest specs and the newest screen dimensions and the most "open" experience. It's kind of like when men with small penises buy big cars to compensate for what they lack in....quality....Sure you got the latest, most powerful thing..but it might not make the, um...user experience..much better.

You might be annoyed to find out that, honestly, almost everyone I know who had an Android phone, while disappointed that the iPhone 5 wasn't introduced....switched to the iPhone 4S. And they're loving it. You can call them sheep, dumb, ignorant, commoners....but the fact is, they just know a user-friendly, more-than-capable and elegant phone when they see one.
Slopping together numbers and specs is not the ultimate measure of innovation.. creating the best user-experience is. (f u Youtube, why couldn't I just write that in one comment??)

Apple statistics are taken INCLUDING the iPod (all generations), iPad (all generations), and iPhone (all generations), and whatever else there is that runs iOS and they compare that to Android OS that only includes there phones and doesnt include there tablets like Apple does even though there tablets do run android AND Android is still winning.
