  • You in Cincinnati ohio area?

  • you live in ohio? if so i live in northwest ohio and am looking for technician schools you have any suggestions

  • @365bigjoe I went to school in Pittsburgh so I really don't know anything about the schools in OH.

  • Y does it have to be automatic

  • the key to being a pro driver is looking over your truck front to back at the start and end of every shift, notice changes. i don't care what kind of truck, or how many gears it has, if they do not take the time get a bit dirty they are dangerous.

  • @iceman3006 Hence the very reason for the pre-trip. I get nervous thinking about how well those are done at times. Thanks for the comment.

  • @iceman3006 same with any vehicule, you save costly repair by catching problems early, such as leaks and etc.

  • @tsohmas I am a doctor and you should see one too. I was just a friendly warning. Pat attention to the video and not the comments. weirdo...

  • @EricTheCarGuy what is your opinion about online mechanic schools?

  • @samayoachristian5 I think it's best to enroll in a program where you get some real world experience, the 'theory' is only a small part of the education in my opinion.

  • @EricTheCarGuy first time ive seen you smile and give the thumbs up

  • I love the older KW's! Very affordable too, if you can work on them!!

  • Eric the Truck Guy

  • the double n is to show gear selection and the actual gear that is engaged in trans

  • give me some time with that 3406 and we'll make it purr!!!

  • Ohhhhhh, that's badass.

  • I used to work at Kenworth Montreal and I got to see those trucks up close on a daily basis and they're extremely impressive with the hood opened. I also saw the Paccar factory (the company that makes the Kenworth trucks) and that was quite cool as well

  • @knuckleisgodlike Yea this beast is pretty cool. Thanks for the comment.

  • Now this is what i'm talking about, I'm a technician at a kenworth dealer. These old trucks are the best minus the autoshift garbadge. how do you like that clutch pedal on an auto? lol

  • @MossyOak83 It's not a clutch pedal, it's an engine brake but the auto is kind of weird.

  • @EricTheCarGuy alot of the eaton autoshifts have clutch pedals used only when stopped and starting out, I just saw a pedal there and thought it was the same deal. I just finished putting in spring pins today on a heavy hauler, they suck on those trucks because the leaf springs are so heavy!

  • every trucking application requires a setup, what is this rig with its tag axel, small bunk and auto used for? a older truck like this would be great for road work, but is where are the cup holders now? anyone who has used a otr rig to pull a parade float would give their left leg to borrow it for a day

  • @iceman3006 The owner has a trucking company and this is one in the fleet that I believe they use for really big loads.

  • is a 1/2-Inch Impact Wrench with 230 Ft/Lbs good i enough for professional shop purposes? I guess i mean is it enough torque to take off lug nuts and things like that?

  • @nico27004 Mostly they use 3/4 impacts on this stuff from what I've seen.

  • Hey Eric, whose Kenworth is that? and why did it have "N N"

  • @13FravelJ My landlords. The 'N N' means the transmission was in neutral.

  • @EricTheCarGuy But I dont get why it has 2 Ns and not just one. Plus do you have your CDL to drive that semi?

  • @EricTheCarGuy Was you servicing it?

  • An automatic semi....

  • I don't give a damn about how people look but your breathing gets heavier and louder at each episode. You might run around the shop for 10 mins whenever you have the chance.

  • @OKEKOBEB I actually collapsed a lung once, haven't been the same since.

  • @OKEKOBEB wtf? are you for real? pay attention to what hes saying and not his breathing. weird....

  • i love the sound of a compression brake (jake brake)......i know how they work (kinda) show me mr ericthecargod in more detail.

  • @backwoodsctryboy I don't have one on the jake brake but I'll have a longer more in depth video for you Monday on this truck. Trucks are cool. Nice to see you in the comments man.

  • That is one nice rig there Eric :-)

  • lol nice. where'd you get a kenworth? and do you know where it was built? if it came from renton that's where i'm working

  • @truepyro28 It's my landlords. I don't know where it was built unfortunately.

  • ARE YOU A DIESEL MECHANIC ERIC?

  • @ANDREASRIAL No but I'd like to learn more.

  • A big rig with an automatic? Lame.

  • You crack me up man keep up the great vids....

  • NO horn wow

  • @littlejimmyist Not enough air pressure sorry, I was getting choked out by the fumes even with the doors open.

  • Wow. That thing is big!

What was it doing in your shop, Eric?

  • @HK0HunterKiller She was just hanging out for a little siesta. I was actually shooting video for a client with it.

  • I smiled and giggled on the inside just looking at the thumbnail could he be?

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. Is almost like you read my mind. I am a diesel Mechanic and for those who still think that diesels are easier to work on, they need to look into the DPF and DEF injection engines.

  • @jflores99 The truth is I have plenty to learn when it comes to these machines but I'd love to learn more.

  • Dude its auto, that's weak. I got my class A and i had to learn with an 13 and 18 speed. But at least its a Cat engine. You still the man Eric

  • @AE86HachiRokuGTS I didn't make the truck. :)

  • why is it called cold start??

  • @zroxr Cause the engine was cold?

  • @zroxr Tribute to Davidsfarm.

  • no wonder optimus prime is so complicated. LMAO

  • lol thats the first twin screw automatic ive ever seen. thats a nice truck. i drive a dumb 2000 freightliner :-(

  • @aaronphx420 First one I've seen too, I'll have a longer video of it on Monday.

  • Pretty incredible machines! So much going on, I have to tip my hat to the drivers who take these things around the country with so much ease!

  • @phazon1029 Yea me too, make sure to give them space on the road.

  • thanks eric you blew one of my speakers

  • @retroguitarmaster Sorry man, the audio didn't peak in the editing software.

  • I have curiosity about what you will do with this beast...stay dirty

  • @roro560v8 I'll have a longer video for you Monday.

  • Eric has traded in his 'ricer" habit for something with "More Power"!!! You truly are a man with many automotive talents. Well Done.

  • @TheCLPVideos I have to admit I really like sitting in the drivers seat of this truck.

  • automatic????????????????????

  • You flippin' Beast!

  • Hey Eric,

Will you be doing any work on this truck in your future video for Monday??? That would be awesome!!!! I love diesels!!!!!!!!!1

  • @MoneyMarcMes I have a 'walk around' video that I'll be giving you for Monday's video. I might have some future repair videos as I seem to be getting a lot of positive feedback on this truck.

  • I see that truck and think big trouble in little china.

  • @zenuke I love that movie.

  • Who the Heck Ruined that truck by putting an Auto tranny in it?????????

    STAY DIRTY!

  • Automatic Semi-Truck? Lazy Americans! lol EricTheDieselGuy? No. We already have EricTheCarGuy, thanks. Tell EricTheDieselGuy that he's a cheap lame rip off of ETCG. lol Just messing with you, bud. So, how are you? You are looking well fed lately. Some of your older videos had you looking pale/grey skinned and you looked like you hadn't eaten properly. It's good to see you're healthy, Eric. How is life treating you, in general? I don't want to pry, just checking in. Oh, why's the KW in your shop?

  • @JTheGuitarPlayer Honestly I'm pretty tired these days, it's a lot of work doing what I do, as for how I look the lighting in this shop is way better. As for the auto diesel this truck is set up to haul very heavy loads so the automatic actually helps with that, I'll have a more detailed video for you Monday. Good to see you in the comments man, I hope YOU are doing well.

  • @EricTheCarGuy Ready to Graduate WyoTech Dec 21!! Going home to WA state to beg GM for an apprenticeship. Totally PsYcHeD about that! In my final class, we just wrapped up the Allison 1000 Tranny rebuild. (DirtyMax trans) We did Rebuildable TQ Converters used in Allison 2000 & 2400 also the Allison WT (World Transmission) series. Wish I coulda done a Vid dedicated to ETCG. And we didn't disassemble the C1 & C2 rotating input assembly clutches. See a YT Vid for more info. Best of luck to ya, Eric

  • An automatic Kenworth??? WHAT THE F@#$!!!!!

  • For 25 years old sounds like she still running strong. Is that a push button automatic transmision?

  • @Michiganborn1969 The engine has just been rebuilt and yes it was a push button auto.

  • @EricTheCarGuy Thanks Eric for the reply. As always keep up the great videos. Btw, how'd manage to earn a collapsed lung? Did a car slip off it's jack stands while you were under it or something?

  • @Michiganborn1969 Long story but I wasn't doing anything it just 'happened', chest tubes suck is all I can say about that.

  • Do a Continental AVDS-1790-2D

  • Schöner LKW!

  • Wait...that was a auto?

  • @mechguy83 Yes it was.

  • AWESOME editing!

  • is that yur semi?

  • @DodgeRamFan11 My landlords.

  • What a beast, what did you work on with this truck?

  • @evoGage I did do a little work on this truck yes. I might have some videos out at some point but Monday I'll have a 'walk around' video for you

  • I love the smell of Diesel in the morning (coughs)

  • nice editing

  • lol eric smiling like a child at christmas ... so would i be :D

  • @THEHEIGHTOFMISCHIEF It felt like Christmas actually.

  • Honk, Hooooooooonnnnk.

  • i wish i could work for this man this is amazing stuff right here :D

  • @X2N18 I wish I could afford to hire you, perhaps some day.

  • sweet whats not to love diesel merp merp

  • Diesel for the WIN !! ahhahahaha

  • It's a shame these rigs are not allowed to drive in Germany :( I'd love to see them here...

  • @s24738 they aren't? O.o

i never knew.. but it certainly explains why i've never seen one of those around here

  • @s24738 I don't know if those back roads are big enough, these things sure do take up a lot of space on the road.

  • @oldtime40s over the road engines. but thats ok... they built their own truck :D

  • Well that's one good reason of going with a huge shop. Now you can work on semi-trucks. Why do they call them semi-trucks anyway... pretty sure they are full sized. :P

  • @DJDevon3 The term semi does relate to the trailer. It stems from "semi-trailer", called thus because the trailer only has wheels on the back half. Therefore, a semi-trailer truck, referring to the tractor portion, is a tractor that pulls a semi-trailer.

  • @kyle8293 Thanks for that info.

  • hmmmmm I thought you were going to work on the truck.

  • @Jx1x3 I may have some videos on that at some point.

  • Lebanon, OH.. one of the worst prisons in the state

  • You do diesel work too?

  • @Mopardude Not often but I hope to do more.

  • @oldtime40s Yeah they are out of the on highway engine business. The emissions standards killed them. I believe they sold the rights for their C15 block to Navistar who made it part of the Maxxforce15. They partnered with Navistar to build their new on highway vocational truck. The engine in that truck is not much more than a yellow Maxxforce 15.

  • @Hemihappy the emissions didnt kill them. they didnt want to be part of the minority. when Cat took all the emissions BS off of their engines they gained overt 200 hp and over 500 foot pounds of torque. thats why they backed out.not only that but it killed mileage. but like i said to the other guy its ok... they built their own truck :D

  • Hey Eric, want to trade lives?

  • @KEN23474 Not anymore, my life is pretty cool these days. :)

  • NICE TRUCK I LIKE MORE MACK TRUCK AND FREIGHTLINER

  • cant believe its got an auto gearbox

  • How exciting! I love it!

  • tones of oil goes into that truck engine

pump it, pump it, pump it .....

  • @czesckiza Yea, your right.

  • ick. Automatic. Pure garbage compared to a nice 15 speed.

  • @3wheeler016 It actually has 2 transmissions 40 gears in all from what I'm told, I'll have a more in depth video on Monday.

  • ok, is that your truck

  • @infinity3jif No, it's my landlords.

  • @brakedd peterbelt

  • Hey! That is NOT a car!

  • @utubehayter I know, it's weird.

  • I sense a new series of videos. Eric The Truck Driver :D

  • @slay3rsaber That would be awsome. I'd watch it.

  • @slay3rsaber There seems to be a lot of interest in that direction.

  • Automatic - no good

  • I didnt realize how high the ceilings were in that new shop lol.

  • @DursosZeroPred Yea it's no joke.

  • Automatic? don't see that very often.

  • cool

  • Looks like a new video seriers from Eric the Car *coff* *coff* I ment Eric The Truck Guy!

  • @siemenstraffic That would be cool if I knew more about them, perhaps we can learn together.

  • @EricTheCarGuy Trucks are just like cars, but in much bigger scale. Maybe you can do lecture how air brakes work and repair on a flatbed trailer for exampel.

  • I love me a Kenworth.

  • Did I see an automatic transmission?

  • @tbok75 Yes you did.

  • Love this one Eric! You looked thrilled to have a rig to fiddle around with.

  • @willyhuber I have to admit it does give me a certain feeling in my belly being near a truck like this.

  • More diesels - Yay!

  • Nice rig! Love those old KW's

  • Awesome!

  • a good blast on the air horn at the end would have been epic eric good video 2 thumbs UP>>>>>

  • @marsL001

    BEST TEACHER EVERRRR

  • @marsL001 I honestly don't know all that much about these just the basics.

  • Hey Eric;

I used to work on trucks...love them. Just the tools alone used on trucks are amazing.

Please post repair vids on trucks when you can.

  • @tonydinatrucking Yea I've been surprised at the feedback I've gotten on this, thanks for the comment.

  • well this was random..... DO U HAVE MORE!!!!

  • @thepopeis1 Monday.

  • I'd love to see how this beast differs from the honda engines we normally work on. Other than just shear size I mean!

  • @salpta - its way more easy than autos, theres more work for it, its more basic and it pays way better.

  • @salpta I'm putting out a more in depth video on Monday.

  • I may like cars but I have a weakness for 80's diesel rigs.

  • @UltraDamaja Yea this is cool.

  • Comment removed

  • What work you did on this truck ?

    the rear tire ?
