@kawibbyrule I was thinking about it but you have to have two the same trans to do that and when you shift it , that would be a different problem to get them in the same gear at the same time
@ShawnCFarm I had the same idea as him. But you have a point. I thought about that too. Not too bad of an idea, but the shifting part would be tricky.
I wanna see more of this thing. I love halftracks. I'm thinking if you ran small pieces of cable across the inside of the tracks to pull the sides, they might stay on and the wieght of the wheels pressing against them would draw the sides in more maing it less reliant in those track stays. You make me want to build on myself.
@JaxRhapsody I'm planning on getting back at it soon. I was thinking of adding u shapped steel cleats to the tires on the out sides, or just going with chains between the tires
You could add 'sidewalls' to your ex-rubber-tire tread, made out of chain. Poke a bolt through the tread every 6 inch or so along both edges, and bolt on short chains that hook up to one long loop. You could get these by splitting a tire chain in half..
Slick set up man! ; D *thumbs up* That's almost exactly what I want to do with a peddle power ketcart and Tomos motor! <: o I was gonna go with snowblower tires/belts that you can buy, but I think I'm just gonna go with small car tires now! Thanx for the idea bro! ; ) That'll be HUNDREDS cheaper for me.
Thats a great idea man. I put an old set of aluminum slots with cooper 60's on the back of mine. To high in the back so I am going to extend the front wheels and do some sheet metal work to make it look right.
@weirdstuffanimation7 prob not. you won't need it if wheels don't spin in the tire. I was thinking last night after a few comments that I might just get rid of the tire and put a chain track around the tires. Kind of like a big skidder
o ok i think i am getting a lawn mower tonight to do it to and what i think i am going to do is make the second transmission powered also but not always, i think i will have it on an electric clutch or pto. also i might get snowmobile tracks
that is the coolest thing on a lawn mower me and my friends all have mudders too and i think i wil make a tracked one like yours out of a dynamark i have the only thing is, is that i dont want to burn out the belt.
Hey y dont u put another straight point down by where the deck would be and plus the one on top and the one u was thing on putting on the back then u would have 3 straight points.

Heya Shawn. Awesome Mod on the old gal. It always warms the soul to see modifications that are both practical and cool. Looking forward to the never ending mods that are sure to ensue. Thumbs up!
@ZippoVarga Thanks. I hope to have the money for a new belt in a few weeks. Its kind of put on the back burner untill I got my fireplace fixed up and all my wood in for the winter. But no fears it will get done.
The car altinator is a good idea and hooking it to the spot the old mower was would work great. The best altinators to use is the GM or Delco from the 60-80s they have a simple wirie system and make it easy hook up. Keep up the great videos.
Oh By the way your second rear axle pulley could be used to power the dump all you need is a 90 degree gear box sprokets and chain and you would all set.
@ShawnCFarm heres another one then get a small indepent rear end dif out a car chop down the drive shafts and turn it so the in put shaft points upwards and weld on a pully
@CDNBadass If it dose not rain tomarow I'm going to a backyard mud bog and the VW will be there. I'm hopping to get video of it in deep mud. The last party they had he tryed to run a small van over.
You go man it works
Mr3wheeledbike 2 days ago
@Mr3wheeledbike I need to finish it now.
ShawnCFarm 2 days ago
I think the tire itsself is causing you grief on the one side. Try switching tracks from one side to the other and see if the problem doesnt follow.

@ShawnCFarm well if you could figure out the gear ratio just change the pully out to confistate for that it could work

you should run a alternator off the other trans axel to produce power
MrHandyandy10187 1 year ago
@MrHandyandy10187 Not sure if it would have enuff rpms to charge right and it would rob to much horse power from that little 12.5 brigs
ShawnCFarm 1 year ago
are you going to at a belt to power the second axel to make is effectivly 4 wheel drive?

@ShawnCFarm well a chain track would probably be more reliable and easier to keep in place then the tire
