No, they get unlocked as you play. Spirit is the very last one since she isn't unlocked until Cyan, Demonica, and Mirage are defeated.

Yeah, I do wish the game was longer, but if it were I think it would almost lose its charm, that's the big thing about the game, it's very unique but you don't want to milk it too much, which is why Treasure is one of my favorite game companies, they know how to make a fresh experience and really put life into it without making it too monotonous.

Haha, I kinda feel the same way about Gungrave, its nice and Arcade sort of feel, its short real fun and random junk blows up in my eyes its the perfect game. i dont know who made it.. i'll have to check the cover later :P
