So quick question, is that Nagash? I'm sure most people here are warhammer fans, or at least read the lore after starting to play warhammer online, but i never played, i prefer warhammer 40k, so just wondering if the necromancer in the trailer is Nagash, seeing as it would be appropriate if it was him imo
world of warcraft is dieing, was great for the first 2 games has only gone down hill since. dark millenium is going to wipe every other mmo off the map with breakthrough visuals and scale and reform the modern mmo
This looks awesome , but I remember how amazing it was to play Warhammer with a pencil , paper , 100 die , a GM & a book.. It was more realistic , because YOU used your imagination.. I could get baked & close my eyes & feel like I was actualy in a tavern & smell the smells & etc.etc. I think this takes that away , BUT I haven't tried it yet , so IDK
@makcansk8 Actually, if you want to talk about WoW copying WAR, youre quite wrong. In WoW alpha version, which was like 6 years ago, there was silithus, which is a direct reference to uldum, and possibly WaR, so if anyone copied anything, it was WaR from classic WoW.

@duntkikme66 Blizzard did not even exist in 1981, when Warhammer was first printed. Warhammer 40,000 came out 2 years later. Blizzard copied the racial features of the miniatures used in both games to create their games "Warcraft: Orcs and Humans", and "Starcraft".
For awhile ago it was in Warhammer Fantasy and 40k fluff that the planet where Warhammer Fantasy is set in was a planet trapped in the Eye of Terror by a warp storm and that Sigmar was one of the lost Primarchs. But they discontinued that instead estrablishing that Warhammer Fantasy and 40k are set in two entirely different universes.
i play wow but got the trial for war and ihave got to say it is pretty kool. I rly like the class system compared to wow but i like wow better due to the community and game mechanics
I enjoyed WoWs gameplay better.. Im sick of getting glitched on rocks, fences, walls, any random object for 2seconds while I get beat on by someone.
WARs community is far better.. More social, always in a group when Im online. Open battles are great.
One thing i hate, and i say it 100000000 times a day. The Squig Herders pet, I FUCKING HATE THAT DAMN THING. Its bugged to hell, it will continue to kill you even if you cant see it or hit it. Its my #1 killer.

@SuperDrunkMoose As in every time I went into a dungeon in WOW I wanted to have fun. But every time I did one member or more was a die hard super serious mega nerd (Its the most appropriate phrase here). Taking it so seriously that most of the time I just left despite being the tank (And not a bad one at that). It was infuriating that every time something went wrong where good humoured players just start again and laugh, they sit at their computer, brush the caps button and scream abuse.
@SuperDrunkMoose In war, I never had the repetatively irritating problem of these annoying people. The most i had was a guy being annoyed for me not healing him fast enough in a fight (I wasnt that good at healing, but warrior priests were too cool not to play)
@Tnaimpactrulz The rules were written "75, but the game wasn't even published until 1981, because Gav Thorpe, and the rest of the guys play tested, and rewrote the rules to get as close to perfection as possible. Since then the rules have gone through almost 7 versions. Let's see if Blizzard can do the same.

One thing i hate, and i say it 100000000 times a day. The Squig Herders pet, I FUCKING HATE THAT DAMN THING. Its bugged to hell, it will continue to kill you even if you cant see it or hit it. Its my #1 killer.

@SuperThatGame well war was more repetitive sure wow has those quests but there is more fun ones which dont fall into those catagories And most dungeons are diffrent The ones in bc and wotlk arnt really But cata are.

@SuperDrunkMoose As in every time I went into a dungeon in WOW I wanted to have fun. But every time I did one member or more was a die hard super serious mega nerd (Its the most appropriate phrase here). Taking it so seriously that most of the time I just left despite being the tank (And not a bad one at that). It was infuriating that every time something went wrong where good humoured players just start again and laugh, they sit at their computer, brush the caps button and scream abuse.

@SuperDrunkMoose In war, I never had the repetatively irritating problem of these annoying people. The most i had was a guy being annoyed for me not healing him fast enough in a fight (I wasnt that good at healing, but warrior priests were too cool not to play)

@Tnaimpactrulz The rules were written "75, but the game wasn't even published until 1981, because Gav Thorpe, and the rest of the guys play tested, and rewrote the rules to get as close to perfection as possible. Since then the rules have gone through almost 7 versions. Let's see if Blizzard can do the same.

@asena85 Good point. Although I did read somewhere that Starcraft was supposed be a Warhammer 40k game with Space Marines, Tyranids and perhaps Eldar but due to problems between Blizzard and Games Workshop, Blizzzard ended up having to come up with a completely new franchise.

These humans had once a wealthy and prosperous realm, but they were cheated by one of their Liche Priests, called Nagash, and their whole land and people were killed. The necromancer Nagash wanted them to serve him as undead slaves, but the Tomb Kings fought against his spell and finally won their independence.

They were extremely jealous of the nearly immortal Old Ones, the first civilized race of the warhammer (40k) galaxy, which had a technology as developed even the eldar cannot dream of reaching this degree of developement, even if they were once taught by the Old Ones. So the Necrontyr waged war on the peaceful Old Ones, but they couldn't defeat their technology.

They transfered their minds into metals shells too. But the C'Than fed on the souls of the Necrontyr, making them their puppets, the Necron. When the Necron were finally defeated they hid in large tomblike cathedrals all over the universe. So the Necron(tyr) - more or less - chose their own fate. thats the great difference.

1. alien race - human culture
2. chose their appearance - cheated to death
3. jealousy was their fate - hunger for might of one individual
and I could go on like this forever, since I haven't spoken of the differences of their armies yet.

The Necron were a product of a nanobot infection, and the undead Tomb Kings were the greatest followers of Nagash, the sorceror who brought about the magic of death, to the Warhammer Earth, and raised them after death. This same Earth is the Earth that the immortal Emperor will be born on, about 300 years after the last Ork is chased from the planet, and Chaos is forced to retreat from it, and the Elves become Eldar, and leave as well.
