its a lot easier if you have a healed tongue piercing so it wont close up. Some places suture it up also which will help prevent it from closing up

a tounge split is PERMANENT until the day you decide to open up the area and sew it back togheter.

personally i would have split from a larger gauge tongue piercing, such as 4ga - 0ga, would have made it a lot easier and reduce chances of healing back. but whatever, each to their own. don't listen to the rest of these asshats, tongue splits are awesome, i just like my bar too much to get it done :P maybe if i got a piercing in front and split from that. whatever. great video, i've been wanting to see a tongue split for ages :)
